Enjoy year round area festivals, and welcoming community farmer's market in the warmer months. Visit breweries, Hard Cider (Bold Rock) tastings, Vodka tasting at new Silverback distillery, the county's first Whiskey Distillery, and local wineries for wine tastings. In addition to the fine restaurants at Wintergreen, there is much fine dining to enjoy close by in Staunton, Charlottesville, Crozet, and Ivy (Duner's - I saw John Grisham here). For casual dining my favorite place is Blue Mountain Brewery at Afton-great food and crafted beers. The others, close by, are The Devil's Backbone, affectionately called 'The Bone' and the newest is The Wild Wolf Brewery. The former is Pub fare and the latter is pub and casual dining.

About Eleanor Jones
We bought our townhome as our vacation retreat and learned that we like mountain living and all it has to offer as well as the people at Wintergreen. Recently we moved into our permanent home and are enjoying our retirement years here at the resort. Our townhome is now being rented in hopes that others may find the same enjoyment and pleasures here at Wintergreen.
Why Eleanor Jones chose Wintergreen
We chose Wintergreen for its proximity to the Washington, DC area and Blacksburg, VA (VA TECH) . Now living here full time we have found this location to be convenient to much of Virginia and surrounding states.
What makes this Townhome unique
Wintergreen Resort provides amenities that are for all ages. There are 3 restaurants from white cloth to casual dining suitable for the younger set, each having a varied menu and all providing delicious foods. No need to leave the mountain for dining/eating. Check the menus on the Wintergreen Resort internet site. The Craft, Wine tasting, and Blues & Brews fests, as well as the Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day Celebrations are most enjoyable in the summer. Additionally, to be enjoyed is the Wintergreen Summer Music Festival which takes place in July and August; more at Wntergreen Performing Arts internet site. For the young and young at heart there is Discovery Ridge; rock climbing wall, bungee jumping trampolene, ZIP line, indoor arcade (Skee Ball, Air Hockey, individual play stations w/provided games), snow tubing, and much more. Visit the Wintergreen Resort site for more information. Most of all we enjoy the very nice residents and are grateful for the staff and employees that are dedicated to making Wintergreen Resort the place to live and visit. Harrison most enjoys the Golf Courses; especially the Devil's Knob Course on the mountain--10 to 15 degrees cooler than below in the summer. We like the outdoors and fresh air--seldom turn on the A/C and most nights a light blanket is required. Eleanor enjoys the convenient shopping in Charlottesville, Waynesboro, Staunton, Harrisonburg and Lynchburg. And there is this really nice dress shop in Verona as well as Talbot's, Chico's, Plow & Hearth, Jos. A Banks, Hot Cakes, Penelope's, and much-much more at the Barracks Road Shopping Center in Charlottesville. Hope you will come and enjoy!

We had a wonderful experience here in this townhome. Everything was clean and in working order. The kitchen was well-stocked and the views were spectacular! The location was wonderful, close to everything! The owners were so easy to communicate with and were very accommodating. Although we didn't need to contact them for anything because we didn't have any problems, they were close by and had everything covered that we might have needed. We will definitely consider staying here again!
I enjoyed meeting all of your family and it pleases us that you enjoyed staying at our townhome. Glad that you enjoyed the views and the location. Yes being close to the
resort amenities, Wintergarden and having the Shuttle close by are what we enjoyed when the townhome was our weekend retreat. Looking forward to your return visit.
Eleanor & Harrison Jones
Eleanor and Harrison will make your Wintergreen experience top notch. This was our first trip to the resort and I highly recommend their home as a rental. They are responsive and able to answer any questions or offer suggestions for dining, etc. The house is perfectly equipped with everything that you will need to make your stay a memorable one. You can't go wrong...
Stayed 3 nights and wish it could have been more. Eleanor is a most congenial host and the place is beautiful, inside and out. Convenient to everything near the top of the mountain and magnificent views.
Lovely stay at Wintergreen: Convenient, lots to do and wonderful owners
We had a family weekend here around snow tubing and although the weather was foggy, it was a fantastic weekend. We took advantage of the wood burning fireplace, the puzzles, games and sports on TV. Eleanor was lovely and she was able to steer me in the right direction for the restaurants and activities that we were looking for - she is chock full of information and knows the area. The home was very comfortable, neat, clean and well stocked as far as kitchen appliances (e.g. coffee grinder, baking sheets for cookies... just to mention two). It was so nice for each room to have a private bath. The townhome is also in a very convenient location - we could have walked to tubing, but chose to take the shuttle. So easy! It stopped right at the end of the road. Thank you Eleanor and Harrison! We hope to return for a longer stay - winter, spring, summer or fall - there is SO much to do there!
COFFEE ON THE DECK WAS PURE HEAVEN!
My old college friends and I recently stayed in this immaculate residence and fell in love with the place. First off, Eleanor makes sure you receive way more than you paid for. We wanted for nothing as every convenience was at our disposal. A hot cup of coffee on the deck is pure heaven as you look out across the Shenandoah Valley each morning and decide which way to go. My group are avid hikers, and we enjoyed Crabtree Falls, Spy Rock, and Humpback Rock. The choices are endless. After our hikes we headed to anyone of the adjacent wineries to taste delicious Virginia wine. Our favorite was Veritas. After fun and laughter there, the smiles continued at one of the local craft breweries. You can watch the sun set at Blue Mountain Brewery, enjoy the coziness of Wild Wolf, or sit around the fire pit with fifty others at Devil's Backbone Brewery. The food at all was pretty good too. All was wonderful with the color of fall surrounding us. My friends are begging me to rent again next year and they want to arrive earlier in the week. The greatest of all, as you get to know Eleanor and Harrison you realize what good people they are, and by the end, you will have two wonderful new friends...
Thank you for this review that shares our sentiments about Wintergreen and the surrounding amenities. We are grateful that your friends came at your invitation and "you all" wish to return. I am grateful that the weather cooperated for your outdoor activities and that you located all the favorite, fun spots. Blue Mountain Brewery and Veritas are favorites if one can have a favorite. So many wineries, breweries, cideries, and now distilleries from which to choose for tasting excursions. Come back soon; we look forward to your return!

Myself and a group of friends rented this property during the 2016 Spartan Super. We found this rental to be the most well appointed out of any property we had ever rented. The location was great. Only a couple of minutes from the starting line. After the race it was nice to be able to quickly return and relax outside on the deck. The owners were awesome. They went out of their way to ensure we had towels and an outdoor hose we could use after the race. We will renting this property again in the future.
Thank you for your complimentary review. I am glad that the weather cooperated and that you enjoyed the Spartan Super race here at Wintergreen. It was our pleasure having you and are grateful that you plan to return in the future.
