The Gonzales Bay Beach House is a character home built prior to 1900. It has been completely restored and now has 3 large apartments. Each of the original apartments has previously been a vacation rental property; they are now long term rentals.
A few years ago I built a brand new apartment on the ground floor that I rent by the month when I am travelling in my motor home.
If you are relocating to Victoria; renovating your home or find yourself working here for a fixed period of time, this could be a perfect solution to your short term rental needs. This property would suit visitors who would like to stay a month or more and experience the city and surrounding area for a longer period of time.
This architecturally designed ground floor apartment has a mud room/laundry room, one bedroom plus a TV loft and a 'Bunky' suitable for a small child; modern kitchen with new stainless appliances, quartz counter top; built in vacuum system and heated bathroom floor.
The exposed original brick chimneys and period lighting complement the modern open concept design and high end finishes. Many windows and doors let in light making it feel bright and airy even on dull days It is furnished with a combination of contemporary and antique furnishings. The wood stove will keep you warm and cozy during cool evenings. Outside there is a patio and garden area.
The Gonzales Bay Beach House is located along the main tourist route on the waterfront but is tucked away up a long driveway making it very private and quiet. Across the street is a lovely sandy beach that is a playground for children and dogs.
The location is perfect if you are looking to find yourself in a great neighbourhood, out of the city but still close enough to walk downtown in 40 minutes or bike in 10.
The neighbourhood is special because of the quiet, tree-lined streets, diverse and attractive detached houses with gardens, a variety of park spaces (from Gonzales Hill to Gonzales Beach), small neighbourhood stores and services.
The rich inventory of heritage homes on tree-lined streets, its waterfront including the picturesque Gonzales Bay, and proximity to downtown and cycling pathways make the Gonzales neighbourhood a popular place to live, work and visit.
Oak Bay Village is a 20 minute walk to the east and Cook Street Village is a 20 minute walk to the west. Nearby are shops and grocery stores for your convenience.
