I'm Kili and in addition to being a wife and involved mother of three, I have been the director of Maui's Hawaiian language immersion preschool, Punana Leo o Maui, since 1993. I also operate our bed and breakfast cottage. My husband Michael is a championship windsurfer and has owned his own painting and contracting company here since 1988. He has also studied chant and hula. Our three children- Kiani, Kalia and Kuakea- were born and raised in the islands. All were schooled in the Hawaiian language immersion program and are fluent Hawaiian language speakers. Kiani is a budding Hawaiian language educator and an accomplished hula dancer. Kalia is a star volleyball player and Kuakea is the artist of our family. Even our dog has a Hawaiian name: I`i.

We were returning residents- our first visit in 3 years... we arrived to a house that made us feel so at 'home' in Hawaii! Even my teenage children felt like they had returned home- this home is a simple local style home, with a lei farm surrounding it- we hit the jackpot! Kili supplies more than enough for breakfasts and hidden in the closets are everything you can think of to make your trip easy- we spent a week here and talked about staying a month...but even if you just want to experience upcountry Maui for a few day...this is the place...easy access to everything upcountry! Don't have enough great things to say...but we know we will be back! (The only reason I did not give it a '5' was people tend to relate overly plush with a five- this is clean, simple and fully stocked)
We enjoyed our time in this comfortable home. It was close to Haleakala National Park, which we wanted to visit. We also went to the Farmer's Market and also visited a beach which didn't seem to far away. The breakfast items provided were delicious and there was more food than we ever could have eaten. We had fun watching the lizards around the property and viewing the stars at night. I would highly recommend this rental to families. My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the shower curtain lining in the master bath needed replaced and the kitchen cabinets needed to be cleaned.
Our stay at at Ke Kihapai could not have been nicer. The house was beautiful and well provisioned. Location was ideal for our visit with family in Kula. The owner was attentive and helpful. Could not have asked for more.
We were a party of 6. Read all the reviews and liked it but didn't really know what to expect. Well, everything was as described and more. The house is a ride away from the beaches and the crowd and we were fine with it. It's very quiet and isolated which we loved. Other reviews talked about the breakfast food and it was plenty, about the flowers and the amenities. All was as told. Kili was in touch with us and brought more food as we needed it and changed the flowers during the stay. We also had the hot water run out as we ran the washer while showering but Kili came very quickly and canceled the timer. The coolers, beach chairs and surf boards were great to have. There was some snorkeling equipment but we had our own. Overall it's a very comfortable house and we really enjoyed staying here. Highly recommended.
It was a perfect vacation home for my communal kamaina family. The place slept 8 easily. With floor futons, it could accommodate another 3-4 kids. Kitchen was stocked with the basics PLUS..... Full on breakfast ingredients provided by Kili. i would highly recommend staying at this home. It was truly a home away from home, very comfortable. For a large multi famlies, it is a perfect place to enjoy everyone's company. Renting three or four hotel rooms, some down the hall, on different floors, different buildings , it is not the same as this place. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
The pictures are very accurate of this beautiful country home. Kili provided the home with a abundant amount of food for all 6 of us. Bath towels and beach towels very well stocked. We got into the Aloha spirt by picking plumerias to make Leis. Loved it! We loved our stay here!!
