About The Owner

I'm Kili and in addition to being a wife and involved mother of three, I have been the director of Maui's Hawaiian language immersion preschool, Punana Leo o Maui, since 1993. I also operate our bed and breakfast cottage. My husband Michael is a championship windsurfer and has owned his own painting and contracting company here since 1988. He has also studied chant and hula. Our three children- Kiani, Kalia and Kuakea- were born and raised in the islands. All were schooled in the Hawaiian language immersion program and are fluent Hawaiian language speakers. Kiani is a budding Hawaiian language educator and an accomplished hula dancer. Kalia is a star volleyball player and Kuakea is the artist of our family. Even our dog has a Hawaiian name: I`i.

Serene location! Fantastic host!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time— we arrived right at sunset and enjoyed the serene upcountry landscape. There are lots of beautiful fruit trees and plants to admire, and the little house is full of windows, light and breeze. The host had the house stocked with delicious breakfast items, so we had a lovely relaxed morning making breakfast. A giant binder was full of recommendations and house information. Wonderful stay.

My group loved our stay with Kili in her beautiful, completely appointed home. She was very helpful with local suggestions, the breakfasts she supplied were terrific and we couldn't have been happier to stay in her home. The flowers and garden were much appreciated.

Wonderful tropical getaway

  • 5 of 5

Kili's place was a great home to return to, especially after the Road to Hana and exploring Haleakala (breathtaking!). The generous breakfast spread, lush flowers in each room, wonderful breezes flowing through, made for a most hospitable stay! Loved picking the plumeria flowers for leis, really felt like we were in a tropical getaway!
