About the property

Condo, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

Beautifully decorated getaway, steps away from the luxurious lava rock swimming pool. The lanai off of the gorgeous, fully-stocked kitchen is private and screened by lush vegetation, and provides a beautiful setting for the lovely breakfast that you will prepare before you set out for your day's activities. The living room is beautifully furnished with art from the islands, a VERY comfy sofa and reading chair, ceiling fan, lots of reading light, a flat-screen TV, BluRay player, iPod docking station with radio, and a table that is perfectly suited as a computer station (our wireless connection is also very fast, but believe us.....you're not going to want to be on that computer much!).

Relax by the quiet, beautiful lava rock pool that is just steps away from our door, or go to one of the breathtaking beaches nearby, using the boogie boards, snorkeling gear, beach chairs, beach umbrella and picnic cooler that we have provided for you. We are absolutely committed to making it easy for you to relax and experience all of the fun and beauty that await you here!

The master bedroom is up the beautiful winding staircase. It has a comfy king-sized bed, flat-screen TV, nightstands with reading lamps, and a ceiling fan overhead. The huge master bath has a double sink, glass shower, tub, and an enormous walk-in closet.

The second bedroom is on the main floor, with a king-size bed, nightstands and reading lamps, large closet, and ceiling fan, with a full bath with shower located on the main floor.

About The Owner

We love to travel, and have travelled all over the world. We honeymooned on the Big Island, and of all of the places that we have gone over the years, it remains our absolute favorite. The contrasts between the lush green parts of the island and the quiet stillness of the almost promordial lava fields....there is nothing like it. The people are gracious and kind, the breezes are soft, and the beaches are just like your fantasy!

The Owner purchased this condo in 2011

Why The Owner chose Kohala Coast

Waikoloa Beach Resort is a perfect setting; great shopping nearby in the Queens and Kings shops, so many golf courses within a 5-20 minutes drive, and all of our favorite beaches are nearby, whether we want a wide-open sand beach for body surfing and sunning, or a more isolated beach for swimming and snorkeling (you WILL see turtles!).

What makes this condo unique

After a day of golf or being at the beach, we love to spend a few hours at the pool, which is just steps away from our door. We also enjoy going to the pool or the hot tub in the evening, after supper. They are both lovely at night, and it feels like your own private oasis. You will also love the Hilton, which is within walking distance. It is absolutely spectacular, and really has to be seen!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Great condo, very clean and had all the amenities one could hope for. Very clean and beautiful. Big island weather is always great. Spent more time at the beaches than the condo.

Thanks Sandy and Mark! Best always.

PS: Try Red Water Café in Waimea, excellent restaurant. In Kona, "Original Thai". Won many awards. Great food.

Great condo and wonderful owners!

  • 5 of 5

We had the pleasure of staying at this well equipped condo for 10 days recently. It was our second trip to the Big Island and second time staying in Waikoloa Beach Resort. We stayed at a different condo last trip, which cost us more and wasn't clean upon arrival. However, our experience with Sandra's condo was excellent. From the initial contact through to our return home. The unit is well stocked with everything a group could want and included beach stuff like chairs, coolers, umbrellas, boogie boards, etc. There were 4 adults in the unit and plenty of space for us all. Mind you, we were out and about a lot enjoying everything the Big Island offers. I wouldn't hesitate to rent this unit again or deal with Sandra. She was excellent and provided us with some great local information on beaches (Kua was amazing) and restaurants (loved Umekes). Thanks for everything Sandra and helping us have a great time in Hawaii March 2017

A Very Pleasant Home Away From Home: Mahalo!

  • 5 of 5

March 15, 2017

RE: VRBO.com #345087 [Waikoloa Colony Villas]

Comfortable. Charming. Cleverly designed and decorated, with furniture which looked carefully made (perhaps by hand) with solid real materials (definitely not plastic.) Wish we could have stayed here longer. Enjoyable to spend time in every day, whether just in the morning before more of our Hawaiian adventures, or longer, in the afternoon on the lanai. Tastefully furnished, looks like the photos, although these cannot adequately portray the feeling of peaceful relaxation we had while we were here.

This lodging reflects, we imagine, the personality of the owners. It is not intended to be an anonymous motel-for-the-masses experience. From the moment we stepped onto the front porch, we knew that we were about to enter someone else’s home: the flashlight so that we could see the hidden key code (it was after midnight when we arrived on late plane); the artistic signs wishing us Mahalo for removing our shoes on the porch; the sweet guest book and shells on the hand-made tray in the entry way. It just keeps getting better, but why take our word? Visit this place yourself.

We live in a rather cooler environment, western Washington, most of the year. Our comfort was enhanced while sleeping by the fact that our hosts provided three different thicknesses of bedding (sheet, light blanket, comforter) on our bed, so that we could adjust to the varying temperature range of Hawaii. This variability of control over our local bed environment was NOT available in the OTHER two places we stayed while in Hawaii, surprisingly distressing, sorry to say.

Thank you Sandy & Mark, for providing a very pleasant home away from home.

Aloha,

Alan & Ann / Washington State (Feb. 2 thru 14, 2017)

Close proximity to the pool and BBQ area

  • 4 of 5

We have stayed at many properties in the Waikoloa beach Resort over the past 8 years. This condo rates very well. Very quiet as there is no one above or below you. Fully stocked with everything you could ever need, even some basic provisions left behind from the last guest such as coffee and basic condiments. Boogie boards, snorkel gear, tennis racquets, beach chairs, pool noodles the list goes on. Sandy was very nice to work with and very accessible if questions arose.

Comfortable Condominium

  • 5 of 5

My family and I have stayed at Sandy’s condominium twice to celebrate Christmas. We consider it a home away from home and are happy to recommend it to anyone considering a stay on the big island.

Everything that we needed for the beach was in the condominium. We used boogie boards, sand chairs, beach bags, toys for making sand castles, coolers and beach towels.

There are plenty of restaurants nearby, but we preferred to do all of our cooking at the condominium. The kitchen was stocked with all the dishes, pots, pans and silverware we needed. We cooked everything from pizza to spaghetti. The condominium complex also has several BBQ grills available for use.

A neighborhood pool is only a short walk from the condominium. There is also a small heated pool that is perfect to sit in after taking an evening swim in the pool. It was never crowded and is well maintained.

The condominium fit our family of four comfortably. The fast wifi was a bonus for checking email and surfing the net to find places to explore during our stay.

We look forward to returning to Hawaii and staying at our favorite condominium.

Wonderful time, Great vacation condo.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Colony Villas on the big Island several times, but this was the first time in this unit. We spent three weeks here and it was a great time. We had our grand daughter with us and it was great that a porta- crib and high chair were available at the unit. The unit is outfitted with all that you need for your stay from the kitchen to beach items. Mark and Sandy were great to work, being responsive to any items brought to their attention and being accomodating when we had changes to our dates of stay. We stayed here for three weeks, enjoyed every day and would not hesitate to return!

Third time , still a charmer!

  • 5 of 5

Our family just celebrated Christmas here and had a wonderful time. This was the third stay in this unit for my husband and I but the first for our daughter. It was also the first for our son and his family. They stayed in another unit in the same complex (very close by) that we also rented from Sandy and Mark.

Everything was just as we expected it to be. The unit has everything you could possibly need during your stay. The kitchen is outfitted so well that we easily prepared Christmas dinner with all our usual trimmings.

Since our entire family was on this trip, the beach chairs, umbrellas and toys got lots of use; and we really appreciated having it all available.

Our family was impressed on how easy it was to get anywhere on the island from our location and loved having the pool and hot tub to relax and unwind at the end of the day. They also liked the fact that there were a lot of dining options nearby that suited everyone when we wanted to go out out for a meal.

As always, Sandy and Mark made sure we had everything we might need and called part way through our trip to confirm everything met our expectations. After staying in their place three times, we are already looking forward to our fourth! We would tell anyone who asks that this is a great place to stay with terrific landlords. Mahalo Sandy and Mark for helping us enjoy another memorable vacation starting with amazing accommodation...
