A LITTLE ABOUT WHAT MAKES SEASIDE A SPECIAL VACATION EXPERIENCE

The idea behind Seaside came from 1946, when the grandfather of future founder Robert S. Davis bought 80 acres of land along the shore of Northwest Florida as a summer retreat for his family. In 1979 Davis inherited the parcel from his grandfather, and aimed to transform it into an old-fashioned beach town, with traditional wood-framed cottages of the Florida Panhandle.

Three decades ago the town of Seaside was established. And that is part of the magic of Seaside. It is a town. A Florida beach town. It is charming, graceful, eclectic, authentic, romantic. But Seaside isn't just a resort town. It’s a place where family and friends can connect with one another and with the beauty that abounds in this special corner of the world.

Seaside is not a cookie cutter beach resort. There are pools and tennis courts and other beach resort amenities, but Seaside is much more. It is a unique experience that not only changes the way a vacation is experienced, it changes the way a life is experienced.

Seaside is a simple and beautiful way of life.

Crisobel could be Cristal with a little work

  • 3 of 5

Crisobel's location is perfect and the house has such promise. First off, the map location has it 2 houses in from 30A when it's actually 4 (no big deal). It has a nice front porch with dining table and swing.

Walking into the house, there's the nice size den with the kitchen to the left. It's my guess that this was one of the earlier houses built in Seaside. The bathrooms are dated and dirty. Not loose impediment dirty but more like dirty grout and cheap bath mat kind of dirty.

The downstairs has 2 bdrms and one that has an outside shower access. The sliding glass door in that shower is off it's lower track which is a real safety hazard. This room also has a door that won't stay shut unless you lock it and it drags on the floor obviously due to the house settling.

The other downstairs room was okay but again dated.

The closets were filled with an array of hangers and a plastic storage box that had no place. It was very unprofessional looking. The coffee table is wood with a glass inlay and it had sand under the inlay prior to our arrival. The WiFi worked for the first few days and then we were never able to get it up again.

The kitchen is suitable appliance-wise, but the owners have locked a significant amount of the storage, so there's no pantry space. We had to re-arrange things to create space for our groceries.

The upstairs rooms are clearly made for little kids. The mirrors are literally for people who are no taller than 4 1/2 feet. The owners lock the closets up there, so there are no closets to use upstairs AT ALL. When you have teenage girls who bring clothes that require hanging that becomes an issue. Called management about that and never heard a word. Shocker.

Also, there isn't an outside hose for rinsing items and people after a day at the beach. That's a first.

We've been coming to Seaside every year for the last 6 years and some times twice a year. I don't have expectations of everything being perfect, but there are some things that I do expect when spending considerable money. Cleanliness, adequate storage, working WiFi (especially with the cell service in Seaside), and full disclosure of the obvious shortcomings.

If they invested one week of rental money, it could be just about perfect.

We still had a great vacation but I won't stay here again

While the management company was courteous over the phone, I would be leery of renting another house through them. No welcoming package, no check-in during the stay, no response.

Owner's Response: This beautiful home is one of our top rentals. It stays booked week after week and we never receive complaints about the home or the service we provide. After researching this guest's stay we found that 10 days before check in, this guest received their carefree check in instructions. On check in day, we called the guest with an early check in and gave the guest detailed instructions on how to access the home. We didn’t receive any phone calls from the guest until they departed on August 5th. During that call the guest mentioned that everything was GREAT. The issues stated below by the guest were unknown by our staff. If had known, we would have addressed the issues immediately.

A perfect match for two families!-INCREDIBLE!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Crisobel and it blew our expectations out of the water. Starting with check-in. We were allowed to check in early which was so nice with two young kids. Erica was great and told us where everything was and told me anything we needed she would do her best to accommodate. When we arrived the place was beautiful, I think it was recently painted because it had no evidence of wear or tear like some rental properties have. There was 8 of us in the party 4 adults 3 kids (2-4) and 1 new born. And we had plenty of space and seating for everyone. The bottom bedrooms were equal size so the adults stayed down stairs and the kids went up. 1 bedroom had two twin beds, so the sisters stayed in there and my 2-year-old stayed in the other queen. The upstairs jack and Jill bathroom walk in shower was beautiful, shame we never had to use it. There was a vacuum and broom to help clean while you stayed. The only complaint (if one) we have is there was no extra trash bags or standard condiments in the house (sugar, salt, pepper). So we had to buy those. The crow’s nest was treat for coffee in the morning and the porch swing and outdoor patio was the parent escape at night. Lastly we wanted a parent’s night out so we sought out a babysitting service, Erica located a sitting service and they were great. Angelfish was the name if anyone is interested. It was a 30 second walk to the private entrance to the beach and 3 minute walk to DT seaside. Overall we loved it, and for the price there is nothing better. We are already looking to book next year.

Spring Break Perfection!!!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed at Crisobel in Seaside for a week during Spring Break. The home was breathtaking. My favorite part of the home was the spiral staircase outside that lead up to the crow's nest. Finding out it had a Gulf view from the top. Check in was super easy, they met us at the home with our keys. Everything was so accommodating. We will definitely be back to stay here again and use Best Beach Getaways.

Great place to spend the summer

  • 5 of 5

We had 7 in our party (4 adults and 3 kids), and Crisobel far exceeded our expectations. The layout was great with plenty of space in different areas (porch, dining, living, and bedrooms) to accommodate our family. The location is fantastic....if we weren't on the beach, we were on the porch swinging and having a great time. The community pool is also a short stroll up the street, and walking to the center of town takes 5 minutes at the most. We will definitely be back!

A great start to summer!

  • 4 of 5

Our family of 4 just left after a week in Crisobel. What a beautiful home! We have stayed in many houses in Seaside, and this is our favorite to date. The pictures are accurate, although during our stay, there were 3 bedrooms w/queen beds and one bedroom with two twins as opposed to the pictures that reflect 4 twin beds and 2 queen. The rental company was great to work with, we had a problem in one of the bathrooms and they were over quickly to repair. There are no pictures of the tower area, but the views are great up there. What a nice treat. It is very close to the beach, and even closer to the west side pool. A perfect location, and beautiful home!
