About the property

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 7

Great 3br/2 bath Lakehouse on the water on beautiful Lake Guntersville. Perfect for fishing tournaments, vacationers, and duck hunters! Home is located approx. 1/4 mile from boat ramp. Boat dock has electricty. Large deck overlooking large backyard. Volleyball net in back yard...bring your own ball! Perfect for playing sports like football or baseball. Fire Pit by water is perfect for building a bon fire. We do have a natural spring that runs off the mountain to our back yard. If we have had a lot of rain you may want to throw in a pair of old shoes as it can get pretty muddy. You can fish from the dock. Water level usually between 4-6 feet. We are a great fishing lake and tend to have milfoil around the dock which makes the fishing even better. No diving as water level can vary!!

Home is ranch style. Master bedroom has King bed. Bedroom two has two twin beds and a trundle. Bedroom 3 has two twins. Fully furnished kitchen. Full size washer and dryer. Microwave, Keurig coffee maker, brand new Webber gas grill. Locked storage space available if needed on property. Wal-mart approximately 5 minutes away. Small country store with bait and firewood approx. 1/4 mile by boat ramp. Large 2 car garage with electricity. We have charged two boats on trailers in garage.

Pets are allowed with a maximum of 2 dogs that will be leashed or chained. There will be a NONREFUNDABLE pet deposit.

Master bath has tub and shower. 2nd bath with shower only.

Great location for fishing and hiking. Be sure to visit Unclaimed Baggage and The Walls of Jericho while in Scottsboro!! Huntsville and Chattanooga both within an hours drive. The Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville is a must! We also have a very reasonable rental place nearby that rents pontoon boats, & tubes. Their website is www.goosepondwatercraft.com

Great stay, comfortable cabin with a view

  • 5 of 5

We loved our time at this cabin. There was plenty of comfy space for our family of 5 (3 teens included), 2 grandparents, & miniature poodle. The kitchen is well appointed. The view is great. We enjoyed a nice walk down the quiet road, a board game and a fire in the pit by the water. Great for open skies and star gazing, too. Dede was a pleasure & answered all of our questions promptly. All together a great experience.

Went to lake Guntersville for some fall fishing and this location is great, literally minutes from two very good ramps. The house is very comfortable and has wifi if you need to stay connected. Will definitely stay again

Great choice!

  • 5 of 5

We went to the lake house to evacuate from hurricane Irma and we are so happy that we chose this place! We brought our three kids and our dog with us. The house was perfect for us! The kids fished the entire time we were there and I had to make them come in at dark. The house was clean and comfy with a huge backyard leading down to the lake and it also has a very nice back porch for grilling and hanging out. The owner was friendly and very easy to work with. We will definitely be coming back to this place in the future!

Fabulous stay with forever friends

  • 4 of 5

We experienced a fabulous stay with our forever friends for two nights. The beds were very comfortable, living room, dining, and kitchen adequate for the four of us. The lack of bathing soap, tissues, and toilet paper were a surprise, but we were able to locate more at a store in nearby Scottsboro. The men did some fishing from the dock, and loved the time away from the ladies. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Owner's Response: I am glad you enjoyed your stay. As with most homes and condo rentals the first set of toilet tissue and paper towels are provided and what you use after that is the renters responsibility. We do also provide much more than most places including laundry detergent, fabric softener, dish soap, dishwasher liquid, hand soaps, all cleaning supplies, and trash bags. Thanks for coming!

Interesting place to stay, needs some TLC

  • 2 of 5

This is one of those diamond in the ruff places that with some TLC could be a very nice place to stay. With some work, could be one of the better VRBO's listed on Guntersville, or in this case the TN river. Renters need to understand this is not the main lake, so it is very shallow, some places 100 feet or so from the dock may get to 6', but from the dock to the bridge, you could pretty much wade out to the middle. Lots of vegetation in the water as well, so I would not recommend swimming....just an overview of the place in general. My family and I did a two night mini vacation here. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give it a 4 1/2. The kitchen was ok, no dish washer and no coffee pot only a Kerig. Trash can did not have a lid, so you have to take out the trash often. The inside accommodations were nice, a bit worn, but it is a lake house. The overall layout of the home is odd, you have to enter the master BR through one of the three bed rooms, which is not ideal if staying with friends, with family, not a huge issue. The master BR is spacious, seems newer than the rest of the home. Has a very large bathroom, and you can walk out of the Master onto a patio. As for the outside, this is where I had my biggest issue. The yard needed a lot of work, grass needed to be cut, weeds were taking over all of the flower beds, especially around the deck..made it appear very snaky. Made the walk to the boat dock a challenge, especially with mosquitos and chiggers..but again, it is a lake house. The deck was by far the one thing that was disappointing. When you go to the lake you want to hang out on the deck, watch the boaters, cook out, etc. Unfortunately, due to the condition of the deck, and the patio furniture, our outside activities were limited to the boat..the deck was in poor shape, the patio furniture was dirty and molded, there is a huge wasp nest inside the umbrella. We found that out the hard way.. so with no shade, you are sitting out in the open, which in July can be brutal. The deck needed some serious work, railing looked like it was ready to fall off the deck. Weeds growing in on both sides of the deck just made it uncomfortable, and seemed to draw in more mosquitos than normal.. We were pretty much stuck indoors unless we were on the boat. The gas grill is nice, can't go wrong with a Weber. All in all, an ok place to stay especially for some old salty fishermen, not highly recommended for a family.

Owner's Response: Let me address some of the issues! Most of the things that you are describing are mentioned in our listing as we wouldn't want anyone to be disappointed in our lake house! We live 5-7 minutes away from our lake property and are ALWAYS only a phone call away. We certainly would have come right away to take care of bees had we known. We certainly DO have a dishwasher that sits directly under the microwave and to the left of the refrigerator! We do list that we have a Keurig not a 6 cup or 8 cup coffee pot. We do list that we have a lot of milfoil which makes our fishing great! There is no danger of swimming in our lake or from our dock. The side of the dock with the ladder is the best place for swimming or floating. We have had an excessive amount of rain this summer making it very difficult to mow at the end of our property. As I mentioned in our listing,, we have a natural spring that runs off the mountain into the end of our back yard. It has dried up now and the yard looks perfect again. It can be hit or miss however depending on the rain levels. I do agree with the condition of the cushions on the deck chairs. I have been looking to purchase cushions or recover but haven't had any luck in finding the correct sizes. We just put our beach towels over the cushions and enjoy the day! We have taken care of the weeds and there is nothing falling in on the deck whatsoever. I do believe that this lake property is great for families, couples, girls trips, and what you call "salty old fishermen"!
