The place 'Where Memories are Made!'

Historic and cozy getaway. Since the flood we have made some major renovations. We have a new large bathroom and have added an indoor eating area. This comfortable cottage is an ideal getaway for families, or for the couple who would like some privacy and space. You can't get any closer to the river as the back patio looks out over the river, and so does the screened porch. If you want to get a little closer, open the gate and take the few steps over the river. You can fish from the steps or just take in the sound and feeling that only running water can provide.

Enjoy the private master bedroom with oversized log Queen bed.

The 2nd main floor bedroom has a queen size bed with a window that opens to the river.

The loft is a fun place for the kids to be with two twin beds and open playing space.

Extra guests can sleep on the Queen sized sofa sleeper in the living room with a new memory foam matress.

Full kitchen comes complete with eating and cooking utinsels, microwave, oven, stove, and fridge.

We hope you enjoy our 'River Run Cottage' as much as we do and that this spot will leave you with memories that last a lifetime, and the desire to come back year after year!

Why The Owner chose Estes Park

We love the outdoors!

As a family who loves nature and the outdoor adventure, we couldn't ask for a greater spot than this. The river is literally on our doorsteps. It is amazing to be surrounded by the beauty of the Rocky Mountains and the diversity and adventure of Estes Park Surrounded by amazing views of Wildlife, Beautiful scenery and lots of activities to drive to, or to hike through!

What makes this cottage unique

We can't say enough about the environment of this cottage and the feeling of history one feels while staying here.

Lisa's favorite parts of this property are the feeling of History compete with the old wooden floors, and the single paned windows.

Shane loves the outdoor features; the sound of the river, the feeling of nature all around, and the abundant opportunity to experience the outdoors by foot, and car.

Guestbook comments from the owner

we had a great time at your cabin! My husband ws able to catch a fish and had a lot of fun playing with the dogs out back. There was noghing better than having a warm fire at the end of the night. We will definitely recommend this place to others!

We all liked the long history of the place.

  • 5 of 5

We all liked the place very much. Older, but I think the owners have maximized the place - nice decor that fits well. The river noise is great, and our granddaughter loved the zip line. The BBQ grill is terrific - will handle a lot of food and works great. I would prefer another bathroom, but one bathroom worked out fine. The kitchen had many leftovers from previous guests - it is small but worked out okay especially along with the BBQ grill. The house phone was a big help as was the wi fi. The history of the cabin provided in the notebook was well appreciated. The vines around the cottage really add to the nice effect of the place too. It is 3 1/2 miles from the dam - we clocked it - but access to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park is just fine. It is a very charming place, but if you want an upgraded newer place it is not for you.

Beautiful Home!

  • 5 of 5

River Cottage was beautiful! The river was fast flowing right next to the property. Sitting in the screened in porch area was so relaxing. We ate in there, relaxed in the zero gravity chairs and also played some mean ping pong. Our granddaughter loved the zip line. The cabin is close to Estes Park and to local hiking and fishing. I think we have decided to make this an annual event. Thank you for making our family vacation so memorable!

PEACEFUL, BEAUTIFUL HOME!

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't have asked for a more peaceful, relaxing vacation. The river as our backyard made a perfect oasis for reading books and taking naps. Located very close to several trail heads made it easy to get out every day and hike. Highly recommend this home and we're excited to return next summer!

Great Escape River Cottage

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed at the River Cottage over the weekend and throughly enjoyed the experience. The River Cottage has all the amenities you need for a truly comfortable weekend, yet the cottage gives you that feeling of wilderness right outside the back door. The sounds of the flowing river was so peaceful. Well equipped for a fun escape, young and old. We will be back! Highly recommended.

Cozy cabin next to gorgeous rushing river

  • 5 of 5

The house was among the best vacation houses I have ever stayed in. It could not have been more comfortable with large sofas, a screened in porch next to the river, many comfortable beds and a small but well-stocked and efficient kitchen. You can fly fish out the back door. The rushing water can be heard from every room. Very close to Estes Park but in a residential area. A bit hard to find at first; we found using house numbers was more accurate than the GPS (at the fourth 35 mile per hour sign - and one is obscured by trees ---past Estes Park). We parked at the Estes Park visitor center and took the bus into Rocky Mountain State Park which was free but slow. (The bus only runs every half an hour and then you pick up another bus to get to the trailheads) But there was no available parking in the park so buses are the way to go. The park is gorgeous and every trail is spectacular.
