About Janet Peterson
Janet here, your hostess, and conservation farmer owner/manager (with lots of help) of one little valley of Fairview, North Carolina. Our sing-along slogan is 'Beds, Berries, Trees, Beef and Honey Bees and don't forget the Chickens" which says it all about what you can find on Cloud 9 Farm. These are my many interests and passions which I invite you to share with me as you STEP BACK IN TIME for a visit to a simpler way of life on Cloud 9 Farm.
Janet Peterson purchased this House in 2004
Why Janet Peterson chose Fletcher
I DIDN'T buy this property, it is my family home to share with you. We refurbished the mountain top, retirement Cloud 9 Relaxation Home for families up to 6 and built Heavenly Hideaway Cabin and Silver Lining Cabin for you to spread out in. Both have hot tubs on an open deck under the stars. Just 8 miles from I-40, you can be at the Biltmore Estate, Grove Park Inn, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Chimney Rock, Lake Lure, and the waterfalls of Dupont State Forest in 15 minutes. Quiet and private. Where does the owner live? Florida? Texas? California? Are you kidding me? I live on this beautiful property, too.
What makes this House unique
Asheville is just 15 minutes away for a soiree into town...a delectable meal or a great, day-excursion, especially to the Biltmore Estate, but vacation renters find that they never really have to leave the farm because there is enough to do right here; hiking, enjoying the valley pond area, picking blueberries in July, or just sitting on the huge deck (or in the hot-tub) over-looking the mountains and relaxing. The layout of Cloud 9 is very outside-friendly with sliding glass doors in every room to open with natural light and get that fresh mountain air. Views, views, views! Come see for yourself!

Great house lots to do on the farm
I know! Your kids liked feeding the chickens, gathering the eggs and bottle feeding the baby calf. Come back in the summer when they can play around the pond in warmer weather.
Beautiful home on an gorgeous property!
So nice to spend a restful four days here with our college aged daughter who lives in PA and our niece who is teaching in Asheville. The house is beautiful and spotless and the spaces are so well designed and laid out. The deck is gorgeous and the hot tub was perfect. We didn’t even leave the house one rainy day and we all agreed even that was perfect! Our daughter is a busy engineering student and this home was the perfect respite for some well deserved rest and fresh air. The fresh eggs were a nice touch and it’s amazing but you wouldn’t even know the chickens were even on the property.. the house is so quiet! We will definitely be back.
Ahhhhh, you were captured by the Cloud 9 Relaxation experience...a place you never want to leave. We've tried to identify it...maybe the wall of windows in every room giving natural light, maybe the passive solar feature, warming you with sunlight, maybe the long range views and sunsets that relax the soul...
Super comfortable, beautiful views, and everything you need!
Our group of 5 adults had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend here. The beds were super comfortable. There was plenty of room to spread out so the readers could hang out in a different room from the football watching fans. The kitchen was well stocked although we only had breakfast and bedtime snacks because there is so much good food to eat in Asheville - and we only saw a few places so need to go back soon and eat more!
Our geriatric dogs were welcome and LIVED laying on their beds in the living room looking out the sliding doors to the mountains. The liked watching birds and squirrels and sunbathing, but the highlight of the day was when Janet let her chickens out to forage. Then the barking would commence (which the chickens totally ignored) as the city dogs alerted us to foreign invaders :)
We hope to return soon!
Your dogs were funny. They really HADN'T EVER seen a chicken before and their instinctual chase reflexes were so buried they just stood and barked!
Cloud 9 Relaxation home IS the place to spread out...you noticed! We do take pride in stocking our rentals well. We've got the basting brush and aluminum foil! You must come back and try The Local Joint for breakfast and Troyer's Amish Blatz for a Dagwood size sandwich!
Just like the name
We had a wonderful stay. Place was very clean. Didn’t try the hot tub. Grill was a brand new Weber we cooked out on one evening. Ate out on porch table with seating for 6. Couldn’t have been better. Absolutely wonderful.
We like things that are clean and that work! Thanks for noticing. What a great idea to get together with everyone with Cloud 9 as your launching pad.
The name Cloud 9 Relaxation House fits this house perfectly. Close to all of the attractions in Asheville,, but a rural retreat. Janet, the owner, super friendly , makes sure all your needs are met to make your stay fun and hassle free. Fun to be on an eco farm to explore. Loved it!
"Retreat" is right...we like calling it "going back in time." Easy driveway but it is a half mile long with Cloud 9 Relaxation Home hidden from site at the top of a hill, holding space for your time here. The driveway greets you with a natural promenade of mountain laurel. You take a deep breath and feel like you have come home.
Great time at Cloud 9!
We had a great time on the farm! Spacious house that worked well for our family get together. Very nice view off back deck and chickens were nearby for fresh eggs for breakfast. Master bedroom had very comfortable bed. We cooked all of our meals and found the kitchen to be well equipped. Nice gas grill made cooking easy. Thanks for a great stay, Janet!
Back deck could really be called the front as this home is beautiful all the way around sitting on a hilltop commanding the valley below. So glad you could enjoy Cloud 9 Farm near Asheville.
