Overview

About the property

Tranquil private riad near to the main square

Beautifully restored Medina riad owned by a London-based interior designer. The riad was renovated using local craftsman and traditional building materials.

The riad is located within walking distance to all the major tourist attractions including the Baadi and Bahia Palaces, the Koranic School, the Jamal Fnaa and the many souks of the Medina. There is a large selection of excellent restaurants, both Moroccan and European, within a short stroll.

The riad is built around a courtyard that is open to the skies of Morocco. On the ground floor there is a b'hou (open seating area off the courtyard), a double bedroom with hammam style en-suite, a guest WC and kitchen. Located off the balcony on the first floor is the master bedroom with hammam style en-suite, the salon with open fire, TV, DVD and a single bedroom with access to the roof terrace. On the terrace is a covered seating area, a dining table for eight people and two sun loungers.

We have an English and French speaking house manager, Mohammed, who will organise for you to be greeted at the airport and transferred to the riad. During your stay our wonderful housekeeper, Karima, can provide meals on request. Mohammed can also organise taxis for excursions and tours. Mohammed is also a qualified Berber trekking guide and can organise trips in to the Atlas Mountains for all levels including treks with children.

Great home, location, and management

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at this riad. Our group included my wife and I with our 1 year old daughter, my sister and her boyfriend. Denise was kind enough to make sure we had a pack'n'play baby bed for our daughter. On top of that Mohammed and Karima, who take care of the house during your stay, were really great. Mohammed was flexible about meeting us when we got into Marrakech and he had a lot of helpful information for us. Karima had fresh brewed tea ready for us when we arrived and she was available to cook and clean as we needed (we told her we would do all that for ourselves but she still came and cleaned the home while we were gone - it was really thoughtful). In addition to all that, the riad's location was great. It is in the medina and it was pretty easy to access.

Great location, price, and accommodations

  • 5 of 5

Really enjoyed our stay here. Most of our meals were prepared by Karimma and the prices were very reasonable for a lot of food. Very good location in the center of Medina and the Riad was very comfortable. Lots of rooms, very beautiful and the wifi worked well. Communication was easy enough with either Mohammed, who speaks fluent English, or using Google translate with Karimma. Would definitely recommend.

Good experience

  • 4 of 5

My partner and our two friends stayed at the Riad Lucas for 5 nights. The space was quite comfortable and very capacious. Rachida and Mohammed were both very pleasant and attentive. We very much enjoyed our stay. We would absolutely recommend it to others.

Charming riad in the next to the market.

  • 5 of 5

This property is a "must stay at" while visiting Marrakech. It is comfortable, spacious, quiet and yet the market is right out the front door. The accomodations, furnishings and amenities were all top shelf. The cook and housekeeper was pleasant, made extremely well tasting Moroccan food for us and catered to our every request. The onsight representative that takes care of the property, arranges excursions and travel was very pleasant, again catered to us in every way and ensured our comfort while there.

I highly recommend this riad if you want to experience the Moroccan way of life in Marrakech. We will be returning and staying here in the uture.

Perfect for our week stay.

  • 5 of 5

Great experience from start to finish. Denise the owner was very helpful with the booking and providing suggestions of what not to miss. The Riad is very well kept up, in the perfect location, and a welcoming home base during our Marrakech holiday.

Rachida and Mohamed were very helpful and charming during our stay. The dinners Rachida prepared were excellent! Our trip to the Atlas with Mohamed was a highlight of our holiday.

If I am lucky enough to go back to Marrakech I hope we can stay at Riad Lucas again.
