Seattle is known for good bookstores, live music and theatre, and a variety of restaurants, most with outdoor dining in the summer. Gourmands appreciate food sources like the Pike Place Market and weekly neighborhood farmers' markets. Crafters appreciate sources for knitting/weaving yarn (about seven stores in the area), jewelry, quilting and woodworking supplies. Shopaholics love Bellevue Square just across the lake, and the Nordstrom Rack!
Use this property as a base for day trips to outdoor recreation in the greater area, whether mountains or Sound, including Victoria, B.C.; explore the islands of Puget Sound, go to the Lavender Festival or the Bellevue Arts Festival in July, attend the Hydroplane races in August-the course is a few blocks from the house. Relax on long summer nights with sunset views from the studio or the deck, or cozy up to your favorite book or TV inside. Retired educator and librarian, my passions are textile crafts, jewelry making, antique refinishing, some gardening and home décor. Fluent French speaker and working to attain fluency in Italian, I'm a Europhile with my vine-covered main deck! I prize the cool summers (mostly) in Seattle and access to the ocean and the waters of Puget Sound, and two great NPR stations. I have two Siamese cats .
Suzanna Plumb purchased this studio in 1974
Developed the studio apartment in 1989. A great neighborhood should be shared with those who cannot purchase in this prime area! Remodeled in December 2010.
Quick access to beautiful areas on foot. The sense of history and groundedness in staying in the house that was built to promote the area in 1905, and the authenticity of its architecture. The presence of a variety of plants on the decks, hot tub house and in the yard. A quiet neighborhood close to downtown, yet on a huge lake resembling the lakes of Italy.
First trip to Seattle. Had fun using the kitchen and the teapot. Great spot to take a run. great weather despite daily reports of rain. The sun was out for a bit every single day! Yea for the Light Rail!
Perfect spot in the perfect place! Our third time here and never disappointed.
I enjoyed my stay at the Plumb Suite in the Mt. Baker neighborhood. By car it is easy access to I5 and Downtown locations as well as Cap Hill. Plenty of on street parking. There is a bus line right outside and also light rail nearby. The hot tub was a great treat! Quiet area, quiet unit and well equipped. Would stay again.
Lovely space in a great neighborhood. The apartment was all I needed. It was quiet, the bed was comfortable, I was able to cook complete meals, and sit and watch TV. Suzanne was very friendly and easy to work with. Great spot for charming walks. Thanks, I'm sure I will be back.
A great small space in the beautiful Mt. Baker area of North Beacon Hill. The space is small and a bit dated but has all the elements that one would need. There is a QFC grocery store, some small upscale grocery and pizza bistro and link light rail all within walking distance. We were in town for a visit with family so didn't spend much time here which is probably best as there really isn't hanging around all day spaces in this room. We actually interacted very little with our host and were given our space which was quite nice. Thanks for a great stay in Seattle.
Close to everything including a short light rail trip to downtown Seattle, lovely host and attentive to the guest's needs. We will return next year.
Suzanna was a pleasure to work with in every way. The unit was small but tidy and efficient, and very comfortable. Great location, and lots of detailed suggestions for area attractions and conveniences. Thanks for a great stay in Seattle.
Mt. Baker is one of the oldest developed residential neighborhoods in Seattle, cleared in the 1900's. My house was the model for development which took place mostly in the 1920's. Elegant homes and landscaping surround the rental, with scenic walks along the lake with mountain views and lake swimming areas. Sailing center nearby where boats can be rented. Located south of downtown with easy access to downtown and airport via Light Rail. Situated near Columbia City, with upscale bars and small restaurants, as well as inexpensive ethnic restaurants in walking distance.
