Why Lindsay Redwine chose Austin

We bought this home as an investment property. It was much bigger than we needed, but we just couldn't pass it up! It is just magical, beautiful and perfectly located. Everyone that sees it just falls in love.

It is very unique to be able to offer such an amazing place to travelers. We have put a whole lot of time and love into it and are happy to share it with new friends.

What makes this house unique

The main house was built in the 1950's. It has been wonderfully maintained, and upgraded, yet so much character still remains. There is a perfect architectural balance of vintage and the functionality of a new home. For example, the kitchen is newly upgraded, with wonderful new appliances and cabinetry. However, the bathrooms retain an amazing vintage feel and decor, all of the wood floors are original to the house, as are the large doorbell chimes situated in the living room. The view is amazing, you can see St. Edward's University from the upstairs. Also the backyard is just incredible. It is amazing to have so much outside space, so close to downtown Austin. The yard is maintained and landscaped very well so that it may be enjoyed to its fullest.

Lovely home that more than met our needs while we were in town for a conference. We rented the house plus both apartments and had plenty of room! Lindsay was very responsive whenever we had a question or a need, and even made an epic dinner recommendation that we all enjoyed (shout out to Ranch 616 and their Texas Ribeye!).

comfortable large house in a good location

We rented the house for a week for our entire family in Austin for our daughters wedding. the house was perfect for all of the 3 adult couples and grandchildren of varying ages. it was comfortable, nicely decorated with plenty of space and well equipped for cooking, outdoor and indoor meals with a barbecue, a large kitchen and dining room. With small children the washer and dryer came in very helpful and the closeness to Big Stacey park with lovely playgrounds, community pool and walking paths made it easy to give the children space to run around despite the weather.

The weather was very hot and humid for most of our stay so we ended up using the air-conditioning most of the time. We don't like sleeping in air con but most of the ceiling fans could not be used without the lights so weren't much use at night and some of the windows weren't screened so we gave up and used the air-conditioning instead. The only other small things that would be nice were a kettle for tea and more mugs/cups-there were only about 6, a few more would save a lot of washing up. minor things that certainly didn't have any impact on our stay.

Lindsay was available by email and she and her partner were very helpful with any queries including dealing with stuff left behind!

great place, good setup, sensitive neighbors

This house's setup and location is perfect. I stayed with a group of guys and all 8 of us had our own beds. The house was totally clean and in alright shape with the exception of a number of burned out lightbulbs. Really not the end of the world.

We weren't particularly noisy but the neighbor did pop his head over the fence to make sure we knew he went to bed by 10pm and there is actually a note stating that you can't use the back door at night because it squeaks too much and will wake up the neighbors.

The house is great, but if you plan on enjoying evenings outside and want to be able to relax you may not want the hassle of the old people next door.

Great house for family gathering

The house was very nicely furnished and had plenty of space for our family to gather. We rented the house for two families of four and a grandparent, and the set-up was great, with four bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs and one bedroom and one bathroom downstairs. There were even some kids books, games, and puzzles, which was nice. The yard was fenced in and very nice. Our only complaints were that many light bulbs were out, including the two front porch lights. We ended up swapping bulbs that worked from other fixtures so we could see walking up/down the front steps at night. Oh, and we could not figure out how to work some of the remote-controlled fans/lights, because there were no instruction about this, or what to do with trash, recycles, etc. It might be helpful for the owner to have a short guide about the property to answer these questions. But they were very responsive and helpful. Great place! And very nice location walkable to the South Congress strip.

Great place to stay with a group.

Great place to stay with a group. We rented this for the week of my brothers wedding. Seemed like it was a 5-10 minute drive to anywhere we needed to be. So conveniently located. Yet the neighborhood was quiet and cute. And walking distance from a park.

The kids loved the fenced in back yard. The inside of the house was laid out nicely so everyone had their own space. Would definitely recommend this house to anyone!

Fantastic home within minutes of downtown Austin

Rented this home for a girls weekend and can't say enough about how lovely our stay was. The home is absolutely charming with lots of character, impeccably maintained, and great for a large group (we were a group of 8). The neighborhood is fantastic and there is plenty of street parking! Lindsay was very accommodating and super responsive to any questions or requests. I would highly recommend this property and would hands down stay here again!

The house is located within walking distance to Austin's famous South Congress Street. This area is fabulous for vintage and antique shopping. The absolute best restaurants in town. First Thursday shopper's paradise on the first Thursday of every month. Live music, community, food, drinks at the San Jose Hotel, Jo's Coffee Shop. One block away from Big Stacy Community Pool. Lots of sunshine and happiness, folks:)

The property is also within 2 miles to the the heart of downtown Austin. Tons of nightlife and live music! The South Congress Bridge, home of the bats. Auditorium Shores. Zilker Park just a bit to the east.
