About Jennifer Gray
We’re organic gardeners, naturalists and music lovers. Our lovely hundred year-old Main House, Cedar Studio and passive-solar Cottage, are retreats/rentals for anyone looking for a place to rest, discover, create or just be. Our 10 acre country farm is located at Poché Bridge, just north of Breaux Bridge and just right outside Lafayette.
Jennifer Gray purchased this Farmhouse in 1982
Why Jennifer Gray chose St. Martin Parish
The Main House at Bonne Terre was built in New Iberia, Louisiana around 1914 and still carries in it the quiet of that earlier time. Pine and cypress throughout, with eleven foot ceilings, it made the slow, thirty-two mile journey from New Iberia to Poche Bridge in 1998 when it was just over 90 years old. When you set your suitcase down at Bonne Terre, it feels like home – without the distractions. Here is a place to breathe; to slow down; to nourish your roots. We love south Louisiana and think you will love it too!
What makes this Farmhouse unique

Property was perfect; spacious, elegant, well equipped, and interestingly decorated
If you value nature and down to earth living, semi seclusion and peaceful surroundings, this is absolute perfection. An historic type of architecture indicative of Acadiana has been moved to this small farm for the pleasure of visitors. It has been fitted out generously with coffee, condiments, books on Acadiana history, music and culture. The sounds that surround the house were heard 200 years ago in this same area. It was my favorite visit of any I have made to this point. Centrally located, and close to route #10, which seems to be part of every destination, it is a scenic drive to New Iberia, St. Martinville, LaFayette, Sunset, Arnaudville, Broussard, Scott...Our hostess, Jennifer, was the personification of thoughtfulness, kindness, friendliness and helpfulness. We just loved her! You would have a very difficult time finding another place with all of these wonderful assets, and I'm not exaggerating in the least.
Wonderful and relaxing!
Beautiful and wonderfully preserved old home. Loved the quiet country location. Our hostess was so attentive to our needs and had provided all one could wish for. We look forward to a return trip!
Beautiful place with beautiful people.
Stevie Nicks and Roger Miller's character in Robin Hood, live here! That alone should make you want to stay!
Incredible Bonne Terre!
We were back to for a planned/return trip, because we've experienced/enjoyed past visits there, and now it's our ONLY choice when we become "snowbirds" for a few months at a time! We've even been there in late Spring or early Fall ~ every trip has been one to write about! We much prefer Louisiana over Texas, Arizona or Florida! We're at home HERE, and so thankful to have found Bonne Terre - Breaux Bridge, LA!!!
Miss Jen is the ultimate hostess, making us feel welcomed, and offering whatever anyone staying there would desire! Her unique style of decor would put her on the front cover of Better Homes & Gardens, but it's her nature, and she's done it as so, to please her intended visitors! The personal laundry and cooking opportunities are very convenient, with top-of-the-line kitchen, bathing, sleeping and entertainment perks included! Her charming farm is part of the area, with barred owls calling out in the woods, relaxing evenings by the fire pit, and the perfect peaceful country atmosphere! A bonus is that she became a family friend in no time! A true example of the warm, friendly Louisiana people!
Local amenities are not far away, be it music, dancing, eating, specialty shoppes and antiques, including enjoyable camaraderie with local folks!
Miss Jen is willing to help her guests find possible, entertaining choices for anyone who might be a first-time, or return traveler to this bountiful, south-central area! A stay at Bonne Terre is something anyone should consider in their future!

VERY nice getaway for rest & relaxation
This was a quick getaway for our 16th wedding anniversary and we couldn't have chosen a better place, or area, for a quiet place out in the country, but still close to the most amazing place in America for foodies like us! We decided against Hot Springs, AR, and decided to go south, instead. We had one very high expectation, though, and that was some good coffee, which was provided by Jen there at the house. We made a cup not long after arriving and used the handy milk frother. I sat down on the little sofa in the sunroom, took a sip and my cares immediately slipped away. The house was just beautiful, clean, & had plenty of room. The kitchen had everything we needed and I especially enjoyed the library of books. The local places we recommend, and enjoyed ourselves, are Joie de Vivre, Café des Amis, The Blue Dog Café, Prejean's & Reve (since we needed to go there to purchase more of the delicious coffee Jen had introduced us to). We took a morning swamp tour on Sunday, had brunch afterwards in town, & took a long peaceful nap at the house before leaving town. Bliss. Jen was a remarkable host, very sweet & thoughtful. I can't say enough how happy my husband & I are to have stumbled upon this quiet place to retreat to as often as we get the chance. ~ James & Crystal
Amazing destination for relaxing, great food, rest, and inspiration
My wife and I stayed for a weekend not too long ago and Bonne Terre Cottage is still on our minds. We found rest, relaxation, fellowship, and a rejuvenated spirit. The house is very spacious with many sitting areas. The bathrooms are very nice. Super clean house. Country-living landscape with several farm animals big and small seen in the short distance. The host, Jennifer Gray, is just about the sweetest person we have ever met. Super accommodating and more than willing to make sure our stay was the absolute best it could be. We definitely plan to make many more trips to Breaux Bridge and stay again. It's a destination I very highly recommend.
We're in the heart of Cajun and Creole country in Poché Bridge, very close to Breaux Bridge's Café des Amis, Poché's Market & Restaurant, antiques shops and annual Crawfish Festival. We're also very near Lafayette, Arnaudville, St. Martinville, New Iberia, the Atchafalaya Basin, Lake Martin, Lake Fausse Pointe, Avery Island, etc., and the area's many great restaurants, dancehalls, festivals, and natural and man-made tourist attractions. Baton Rouge airport (BTR) is one hour away; the New Orleans airport (MSY) is two hours away.
