About annie astor
We are a family of five, with three sons. We all grew up in Puerto Rico and as such, enjoy tropical weather, and specially the beach.
annie astor purchased this Apartment in 2012
Why annie astor chose Isla Verde
My husband and I acquired this property because this is the beach where we used to enjoy when we were teenagers. This specific spot used to be known as ' El Alambique', most people our age still remember this!. When we saw this beautiful new building we fell in love with it, and decided to acquire it for enjoyment as a second home, when not in rental.
What makes this Apartment unique
Close, close proximity to this fantastic beach!! Only 27 units in the building, which gives the property an intimate boutique hotel feel. Modern building, newest construction in Isla Verde, tastefully designed, common areas are beautiful, especially the rooftop terrace with its infinity style Jacuzzi/pool overlooking the beach. Private assigned parking near lobby door, with beeper access, so, no going around looking for an available spot like in larger, more populated rental condos.
Canceled bookings will not receive a refund
Very Convenient Location
My family and I enjoyed our stay at this condo. It is very convenient for going to the beach (just down the street), restaurants, Old San Juan and Condado among other places. The condo could use a few changes to make it perfect.
Beach access was excellent. Also secured building.
Awesome condo. Great proximity to the beach, grocery, food, & pharmacy. Very nice
Thanks Mitzi, for writing a review, hope to see you coming back soon!
Lovely condo, fantastic location
My family of four thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. The location is perfect! An easy 30 second watch to a beautiful, fun, lively beach but also within walking distance to many restaurants, Walgreens, Costco, etc. The condo/building was quiet and felt incredibly safe. And Annie was great to work with - super quick to respond to any questions we had. The only two "issues" we had (and they were minor) were: 1) a very, very loud Friday night. It seemed as if there was a party in the streets, and it lasted until about 3am. It happened on our first night there, so we were a bit nervous about our choice, but I'm happy to say it was a fluke and the rest of the week was lovely. I include this in my post in case anyone else arrives on a weekend and has this same experience. 2) the washing machine smells very musty. Could use a good cleaning. Otherwise, our trip was nearly perfect! Thanks, Annie, for sharing your place.
Thanks for posting a review! I am glad you enjoyed so much your trip, the location, and the condo! Sometimes noises in tourist areas are not under our control, but luckily they are not frequent, only an occasional Friday or Saturday when there can be a special activity...
Hope to see you back!
Pros: As a group of 4 young women, safety is priority. Anna’s place is very secure with a key entry to the outer gate and building door, plus a coded door to the apartment. The condo literally sits right on the beach with restaurants and stores in walking distance. Very spacious, comfy beds, and the AC in each room works great.
Cons: I only have one small suggestion. The apartment can use a little extra cleaning. It was neat, no trash or anything, but the floors could use mopping, accent pillows washed, and an overall fresher smell to the place. We bought candles and fresheners and put the pillows to the side. But a deep clean would make this place 5 stars.
Overall, Anna was super nice and accommodating and we would definitely stay here again.
Thanks for taking the time to write a review. I am glad you loved the apartment and the great beach views and location. Previous renters left the same day you arrived so the cleaning was done very quick, generally when such is the case a few pillow shams of decorative pillows, which are not the pillows used for sleeping, cannot be washed to be able to wash all other linen and towel items and have the unit ready in time! But thanks for the comment anyways, now in September's low season a full detailing of all maintenance items is done!!
Our stay in Annie's place was absolutely amazing. This is a perfect spot to stay in Puerto Rico and is in walking distance to so much! Would go back in a heartbeat!
HI Christopher, thanks for writing a review! I am so glad you enjoyed the condo and your stay so much! Please come back anytime...
Our new sub penthouse is located in the most important beach in the San Juan Metropolitan area, Isla Verde Beach, same beach where the San Juan Resort and Casino, the Intercontinental, the Ritz Carlton and the Water Club hotels are located. The apartment is 30 yards from the beach, in Tartak Street, just off Isla Verde Avenue, at the Beach. It is walking distance to restaurants of all types, from fast foods to casual dining and regular dining. Also very close to shops, casinos and clubs at all the major hotels in the area. A 10 minute drive places you in another important tourist area of Condado, and a 15 minute drive puts you in historic Old San Juan, with its beautiful old colonial structures and plazas. Important attractions in Old San Juan include El Morro and San Cristobal forts, Paseo de la Princesa, La Fortaleza, and Cristo Street. Old San Juan, Condado and Isla Verde beach are a must if you come to Puerto RIco. In addition, longer day trips include, El Yunque rain forest, (45 minute ride east), Luquillo Beach with a stop in the typical food stands, (50 minutes east), and the Camuy Caverns, about one hour drive west. I recommend a car, even though it is not absolutely necessary if you plan to stay mainly in Isla Verde. The apartment has an assigned parking, with beeper access.
