Our charming apartment, situated on the third floor of a traditional building looks down into the clear cool water of the River Sorgue, which creates the island itself in the gorgeous and colourful town of L'Isle sur la Sorgue. The apartment's riverside situation means you can sit back and relax with your fresh croissant or glass of local wine and enjoy watching the life of the village with people strolling along the path below. With the Sunday market we look out onto a truly authentic Provencal scene! This sunny, south-facing apartment is flooded with light and is really second to none in its location. It is right in the heart of village life with antique shops, boutiques, art galleries and restaurants just outside the door. And it is only seconds away from Isabella's Ice Cream café which famously makes the best ice cream in the region!
We have endeavoured to make the apartment wonderfully welcoming and comfortable whilst keeping modern needs and requirements in mind. It is furnished with pieces we have collected while travelling and living here.
Côté Rivière has a king size bed, a dining table and chairs, 2 armchairs, and beautiful soft furnishings. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, induction hob, electric fan oven, kettle, toaster, coffee machine and all utensils.
The gorgeous bathroom has a WC, washbasin, heated towel rail, hair dryer and a walk-in shower. All linens and towels are provided.
The apartment has English-speaking TV, air conditioning/heating, WIFI Internet and a parking space, located just 2 minutes away on foot, which is rare in this town with little traffic and narrow streets!
Newly renovated in 2011, with old world charm and practical modern living in mind, Côté Rivière is an ideal base for exploring the lovely town of L’Isle sur la Sorgue and this idyllic area of Provence.
On your arrival at the apartment, we will be there to meet you, show you round the apartment and answer any questions you may have. We also provide a complimentary food basket on arrival so you can settle straight in and relax!

We bought Côte rivière in 2011 and after a complete renovation, we created the beautiful, welcoming apartment it is today. Over the last 5 years, we have welcomed wonderful visitors from all over the world and met some amazing people along the way! We look forward to continuing to welcome many more guests and showing them the Provence we love so much.
Natalie Ormsby purchased this apartment in 2011
A room with a view! Simply wonderful location and finished to the highest standard.
River front location- enjoy your morning croissant ( or evening glass of local wine!) watching the world go by.
Step out into the lovely town of l'isle sur la sorgue in the heart of everything, including the fabulous Sunday market.
Not much to add that has not already been said but...
We arrived in February on a very cold Saturday and the Mistral was in its full force. Even under those circumstances we already had a great impression of the little city .
Natalie was waiting for us downstairs and when she smiled it was if we had known each other for a long time. Maybe a result of the e -mails we had exchanged prior to coming.
We would be here for 15 days and the location could not be more perfect!
We climbed the stairs to the apartment and as the door opened .........NO disappointments.
The place was everything we had seen online......and MORE!
You could feel the love and care that had been put in it on every little detail. We were HOME!!!
Our daily trips to different places were extremely pleasant, even in winter there is beauty everywhere. And to come back to our very comfortable apartment was a joy. L'isle is the perfect place to be if you are going to tour around Provence. The shops, mills, restaurants and markets add to the charm of the little city and 21 rue Lirette is THE PLACE to stay!!!
Thank you Nathalie and Mark.
We decided to base ourselves in Isle Sur La Sorgue for a week long trip exploring Provence. It's a charming town with a bustling Sunday Market, nice bars and restaurants and a short drive to all the major sights (Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, Arles, Chateuneuf du Pape etc). We chanced upon Natalie's apartment online and were delighted with the place. It's a cosy top floor studio with all mod cons, comfy bed & good shower, with a pretty view out over the quayside. We were made to feel right at home when we checked in with fresh flowers on the table and wine, cheese and bread on the sideboard. We would thoroughly recommended staying there.
Thankyou Natalie & Mark. Do let us know if you're ever in Bali

Had there not been so much constant noise often until 2.30am then this accommodation would rate a 10 in all aspects. Natalie the host was charming, helpful, and professional. The welcome package was really appreciated and evidence that she anticipitated her cliemts needs. The area was wonderful and many interesting things to explore. Thanks Natalie.
Where do I start? Wonderful stay, beautiful apartment and a magnificent host!
We spent a week here and it was a great base to explore all the Luberon Villages. The apartment is beautiful, romantic, clean and the decoration very French. We could not find a single flaw with this place. As others have mentioned it is quite a climb, since for us Americans it is a fourth floor, but unless you are not physically able to climb stairs don't let this dissuade you.
Natalie is an exceptional host, her welcome package is a wonderful touch. So nice not worry about going grocery shopping until the next day.
Location is unbeatable, supermarket, her parking spot, restaurants, etc all less than a 5 min walk.
Don't miss the Sunday Market, best we experienced on our three weeks in France. And they set up right under your windows, such a treat!
Thanks again Natalie!
I should say straight up that renting the apartment for a week proved to be a really good choice. I will try to be concrete as possible in providing our reasons why my wife and I strongly felt this way.
The facility: The room is well presented. It is crisp, clean and airy. It works. Proportions of the studio room are good. There is a nice bathroom with an effective shower, the bed is comfortable and two chairs await your presence so you can sip your coffee in the morning or wine in the evening and while doing so enjoy the setting. Below you is a quiet small road and a portion of the river (the river splits as it moves around and through the island.) Beyond the river/stream is the busier road but the traffic noise is not obtrusive. If you find it so, you can easily shut the two sets of double windows and still enjoy the view. If you are lucky enough to be there on market day it sets up below and around you. I easily declare it to be the best market in all of Provence. The kitchen has enough of everything and the air-conditioning (which helps in the summer) is amazingly responsive. So the bad news is you walk up three flights of stairs to get there. The good news is that, upon arrival, you immediately know it was worth the climb.
The room is also well situated to the amenities of the town. Restaurants and shopping are short strolls away. (Upon your arrival you will find that the first day’s breakfast choices and the evening wine are graciously provided by Natalie.) The grocery store is maybe a two minute walk as is the secure parking. L’Ilse Sur La Sorgue is very well situated for people wanting to explore a good section of Provence and Luberon. We visited many places, and all within an hour’s drive or so away.
A couple of tips for the town of L’Isle Sur La Sorgue: Restaurants in France are not cheap. You can economize by buying at the market, the grocery store and the patisserie. After exploring hilltop villages during the day it is nice to return to flat geography. Lovely walks in the evening can be had around the island (turn right and go clockwise following the river) There you will discover the authentic French experience. For another walk by the riverside cross the traffic circle and go down Avenue de Portage des Eaux.
In summary the room was everything we hoped for; the town is exceptional and really nicely located. Natalie thank-you for everything including the regular email correspondence to ensure all was well. You are a gem.
This apartment is well located near to everything L'isle has to offer. The private parking space really is a boon. Natalie is an excellent host and there doesn't seem to be anything she hasn't thought of. The welcome pack of essentials is really helpful and it is comforting to know that Natalie is close by to help if required. The apartment is well equipped and tastefully decorated. I thought the bed was very comfortable.
L'isle has lots of restaurants/bars and is a lovely place well located for touring the surrounding villages. The markets on Sunday and especially Thursday are recommended.
My wife and I had the pleasure of staying in Mark and Natalie's lovely apartment over two years ago (please forgive the delay in reviewing). It was such a memorable stay it's not difficult to recall how well appointed the apartment was, everything necessary was available. We are a 68 year old couple that had no trouble climbing the stairs. The location could not be more perfect! Our daily routine would include delectable pastries from the bakery downstairs or others within short walking distance, touring the countryside to see small hill top villages or staying in L' isle Sur la Sorgue which is a beautiful, quaint town with fantastic restaurants, shops and fantastic markets. I highly recommend this VRBO and hope to visit again (possibly next year!)
