About the property

Private with a beautiful view

20 minutes north of Syracuse New York. Very large deck, Concrete dock, marina nearby actually one quarter mile away for boats over 19 ft. The east side of the house has woods and the right side is a park like setting with rolling lawn and a canopy of old trees. Gas and charcoal grills on premises. The stairs from the parking lot are not steep, in fact, they are only a couple of inches. If you are severely disabled you may have trouble carrying a suitcase down them. There is

only one full sized stair. Approx. 60 feet from parking. This is a year round camp not all the comforts of home or hotel, but great for family get togethers. Outdoor people like the place. Waterbirds, cranes and egrets are usually seen. Ducks, buffets, geese, swans. Also, bald eagles, hawks and wood peckers, even pilated are seen. Large parking area. If you scream when you see a spider stay home. Place is neat and clean.

About The Owner

I am a chiropractor and have a beautiful home with a refurbished

boat house on the water. There is a concrete dock but if you

arrive in very windy weather you may want to dock at the marina

one quarter of a mile away. We have docked our 23 foot boat

on our dock all season but take precautions in a blow.

The Owner purchased this house in 1972

Why The Owner chose Constantia

I love the water and it is a real treat to come home to this beautiful

and peaceful property. Though route 49 is the roadside, wildlife

abounds. You are sure to see cranes and eagles and a variety of

animals. Occasionally river otters are on the lower deck. New living room furniture and new air conditions in each bedroom giving plenty of ventilation. Ozone filter which protects against molds. We try to accommodate folks and correct accordingly. Katie

What makes this house unique

It is amazing to live on boatable swimmable and even drinkable

lake. there are fishing tournaments on the lake. It is also amazing

to be so rural but have the advantages of a good size city 20

minutes away.

Oneida Lake is known for small and large mouth bass and walleye pike, and unusually large and flavorful perch. (We call it

Oneida Lake shrimp.)

Adventurous snowmobilers may take the back woods trails all the way to Old Forge. The lake provides snowmobilers great fun. Ice fishing is very popular. Oneida Lake is stocked with fish of all kinds. Fishing is supreme here on the lake.

Charming and rustic - great view and spacious

  • 4 of 5

Bill and Kate were very hospitable. We stayed over Memorial Day weekend with our three kids.

Huge deck, nice picnic area down by the water. Kids enjoyed playing in the water (knee-waist deep), saw a lot of fish (wish I brought a pole).

As Bill said, "It's not the Taj Mahal," but it was definitely cozy. Would stay again!

Fun get away!!

  • 4 of 5

From a women's point of view: kitchen and bathroom clean. Linens fresh, towels whiter then mine at home. Perfect for low maintenence get away. Scenery breathtaking. Alittle difficult for handicap because of split levels.

Nice home, needs repair

  • 3 of 5

The house is beautiful and right on the water. We enjoyed breakfast on the deck overlooking the lake (we caught a fish from it). Lots of clean linens and towels. Problems: the shore by the house really does not lend itself to swimming, you would need a raft or something to float way out away from weeds. The house really needs many repairs: floors are sinking, sliding doors stick, drawer handles broken. The hot water heater is too small to fill the bathtub, and more than 2 people need to stagger showers and keep them short. Walkway to the house is pretty sleep and for some reason obstructed with sand bags. There are spiders everywhere. Late July the lake often has toxic algae, but some people swim in it.

Not what was expected

  • 1 of 5

Needs to be updated dramatically! There were issues with flooding in the house and insects from rain and evidence of mouse droppings. Will not be rebooking even after the owners offered a future stay discount. Owners were very nice but this property is not up to par for renting.
