Fabulous Loft with Lake views
LAGOVISTA LOFT is located in the medieval hilltown of Paciano located on the border of Tuscany and Umbria. The loft space had never been occupied until 2011/2012 when we purchased it and renovated it from top to bottom including cleaning and renovating a stone wall over 800 years old!! We retained the charm while bringing all the amenties we appreciate today. Underfloor heating beneath the stone floor, a fabulous kitchen with all the amenities (chestnut custom cabinets, granite countertops, dishwasher, local ceramic dishes and serving pieces). We retained the open space with soaring ceilings, industrial fans, indirect lighting and a huge armadio dividing the space allowing some privacy in the bedroom. There is a separate laundry room with cabinetry and bathroom with glassed-in shower and all new fixtures and tile.. No expense has been spared - even double paned windows throughout. It was designed for a couple wanting privacy and luxury. It is adjacent to Casa Lagovista which is VRBO 417801 which allows two couples to travel together if they wish..

About Kerry Norman
We've been travelling to Italy since l990 and fell in love with Paciano. We purchased Casa Lagovista in 2006 and totally renovated it and when Lagovista Loft became available we couldn't resist. Now both apartments occupy the whole top floor and have a private staircase, making it work wonderfully for two couples or a family. We are both real estate brokers living in Oklahoma City and consider Paciano our second home. We have rented all over Italy but never found a town as enchanting as this one and also one with all the services we wanted but no tour buses !
Kerry Norman purchased this Apartment in 2011
Why Kerry Norman chose Paciano
We had seen this property prior to buying the one next door but it was not for sale at that time. When we did see it that first time, we just looked at each other and knew that we could make it fabulous. We had forgotten about it until the former owner called us having heard that we loved and asked if we wanted to buy it. She had been planning on using it as a photography studio as it was completely unfinished but at the last minutes decided against it. Thankfully she called us first and we grabbed it up. When you see the photos, you will understand why
What makes this Apartment unique
We think that when we saw the stone wall that was 800 years old and covered with bits of cement and lots and lots of dirt we could see what this space could be. Rather than conventional walls, the character that is inherent this space was facinating to us. When a friend of ours came in and said 'this wall tells a story of the history of the place' we knew we had done the right thing

Perfect place .. rejuvenating, romantic, fun
If you want to experience the real Italy, this is the place we recommend. The loft is beautiful, wonderfully appointed with all that you need and much more, and is like staying at a modern, upscale hotel, but with the ambience and beauty of old Italy. The surrounding towns are all close and driving is a breeze. Margaret, the on site manager who lives next door, is a gem and a wealth of knowledge and help. There is plenty of information provided to suggest things to do your entire time. We are only sorry we didn't come here sooner and are already planning a return trip. Great rejuvenating trip with many new experiences that we will treasure.
Thanks so much, Cheryl! Come on back soon!
Three weeks of pure bliss!
This was my husband's and my third stay in Paciano and our second in the loft. We stayed for three weeks and it was wonderful! The first week our oldest son and his wife stayed in the Casa and we had a blast taking day trips from Paciano and then spending quiet evenings in this enchanting village! After the kids left we continued to enjoy going here or there and also enjoying the local cultures. We picked olives, went to the opening of the olive mill, went to a piano concert in nearby Panicale as well as the olive oil festival there. We immersed ourselves in the Italian way of life and it was fantastic! This apartment is open, light and airy. A great place to cook or curl up with a good book. If you are looking for an off the beaten path vacation, this apartment and Paciano are for you!
Thank you, Sheila! You are always welcome back anytime!
A fantastic week at the Loft!
Owner Kerry and her local host, Margaret were highly responsive and more than helpful. Kerry has thought of literally everything her guests could possibly need in this well equipped rental. The loft was spotless, spacious and light filled with high ceilings. Those with an interest in cooking will find a kitchen that has everything you need to make a great meal in short order. We really enjoyed our stay! I would especially like to send my gratitude to Margaret for all the assistance she provided; she is fantastic!
Thank you so much, Karla! Yes, Margaret is wonderful and we could never manage without her. Thank you for being such a great and understanding guest! Please try to come back ! Both Margaret and I have loved working with you!
My wife and I have been traveling a lot and used many VRBOs and other types of accommodations over the years. This loft is simply THE best that we have stayed in! Located in the beautiful walled village of Paciano, it is the ideal place for a romantic holiday. The apartment has all the amenities that you can think of, including a very comfortable bed. We managed very well despite not having a car (thank you Margaret for arranging transportation to the train station this morning!), walked to the beautiful village of Panicale while absorbing the phenomenal views. We ate three times at The Logetta in Paciano which serves excellent food and wines. I wished that we would have stayed longer than 3 days as Paciano and the loft were the highlight of our 3 week trip to Italy...
Thank you so much for the great review! We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay in our magical hill town on the Tuscany/Umbria border. I will pass along this review to Margaret and Maurizio at La Loggetta which is our favorite restaurant too.
Please stay in touch and we look forward to seeing you again soon!!
The best that Italy has to offer!!!
This was my husband's and my second trip to Paciano - we loved it so much the first time, we knew we would be back! We stayed in the other apartment run by this owner, the Casa, the first time, but we absolutely LOVED the loft! It is so bright and open - loved waking up there in the morning, hearing the church bells and knowing that it would be another fabulous day!
If you are thinking about a trip to Italy - you have to stay here and allow yourself to become immersed in the culture of these wonderful people! Paciano is very close to the train station in Chiusi - and you can go anywhere from there - Rome, Florence, Cinque Terre.. but this is a great home base and very relaxed. We ate at both restaurants, but I also cooked several nights while we were there. There is a grocery down the hill and a butcher right across the street from the apartment's front door. You can also get fresh bread there, too.
I can't say enough about how much I love this village and the loft. And my husband is now talking about going for a month and staying there... that should tell you just how wonderful it is!
It was lovely!
The loft was spacious and beautifully updated. The location-15 minutes from a major train station and within driving distance to wonderful towns-was perfect. The customer service was excellent. The town was delightful with two delicious restaurants. There was a small grocery and all of the residents were most friendly and helpful. Also Casta Del Lago was ten minutes away and boosted quaint shops and numerous restaurants. We would go back tomorrow if we could.
Paciano is located on Mount Pausillo which is also a protected area and is great for hiking and even more strenous climbing if you are so inclined. There is the Lambrogini golf course a short distance away. Lake Trasimeno has boating facilities, beaches and restaurants lakeside. You can daytrip out to wineries, antique fairs, museums, ceramic towns and great historic towns like Assisi and Orvieto. Or go sip Brunellos in any of the local wine towns like Montalcino or Montepulciano. Pienze is another great stop for sampling the famous pecorino cheeses. The possibilities are endless!!
