This self-catering apartment is flexible for business or families for short stays or residential. The property can have queensize in main bedroom and either queensize or twin in the second bedroom.

It is just one minute walk from some of the best views of London, between London Bridge and Tower Bridge. Being within 3 minutes walk of London Bridge station, it is easy to get to anywhere located near a Jubilee or Northern Line stop. It is also a good place to start walking along the South Bank or across the bridge to the City.

The location is well connected in all directions. You are only 5 minutes from Trafalgar Square via train, less than 8 minutes from Green Park/West End by tube, 10 minutes from Canary Wharf in the east, 10 minutes from Greenwich in the south/east by train, and only 4 stops north to Holborn for Covent Garden.

Across the street is the riverside walkway with the best views of London towards Tower Bridge and the City of London - great at night! You can walk on the riverside upriver passing the Borough Food Market, Southwark Cathedral, Vinopolis, Shakespeare Globe Theatre, Tate Modern, Millennium Bridge (which crosses the river to St Pauls Cathedral). After the Tate Modern, you can then walk on via Blackfriars Bridge past the Oxo Tower to the South Bank Arts Centre and the London Eye - the full walk is very popular and has great views of London all the way.

The apartment is very quiet. There is new secondary glazing inside double glazing to the front (livingrom) and double glazing to the back (bedrooms). The livingroom is also quieter due to new 4 inch internal insulation to the front walls (which also helps keep temp controlled and moderate within the flat). The back overlooks an enclosed courtyard. The apartment is on the first floor above ground. Looking at a map will only give a 2 dimensional view of the location and in fact the apartment is very quiet.

PS There is an air conditioning unit but the most effective way to avoid the few days of really hot weather we get in London is to lower the blinds during the day. The livingroom gets the sun, but there are black out blinds which you can lower during the day. There is solar film on the windows excluding 60% of heat and additional 100ml insulation on these walls which should keep cooler in Summer and warmer in Winter with less variation. The air conditioner when used (chargeable for usage) can vent through the a wall socket or out the window.

We stayed in this flat for 3 months while my husband worked nearby. The flat was in a great location, a 6 minute walk to the London Bridge Station, near the Borough Market, and the Thames. However, we would NEVER stay here again. First of all, we never met the landlord, John, who was living in Dublin, so most communications were by text or WhatsApp. His wife would come into town occasionally, and was always in a rush to get to a meeting and didn’t give me time to ask specific questions about the appliances. When things broke or water started leaking into the apartment from the roof, he was an absent landlord, and had no backup person to help us. There was no notebook for guests about the flat, and how the appliances worked. His wife gave us a quick verbal summary our first morning when she gave us the key. The photo on their ad of the large kitchen with lots of cupboards, was misleading. The owner locked all but 4 cupboards with their own property and 2 of them were filled with glasses and dishes (some missing and chipped). So, I had only 2 cupboards to use for my groceries. I also had to go out and purchase glasses, utensils, and bowls that should have been there, which they did reimburse me for, but wasted my time.

The heat in the apartment NEVER worked properly, even though they disabled the heating units. The first 2 days it was too cold, and the rest of the time it was way too hot. The landlord always had an excuse. He also regulated the heat remotely from Dublin, and complained when we didn’t turn it down. He finally gave us the ability to control the thermostats but continued to monitor it. He also had the water temperature set, and after some cold showers, he agreed to change the settings to allow for hot water at night. After several weeks of asking and their arguing, they finally replaced the deadbolt lock on the door (which without it, we felt was a safety issue) and brought in an air conditioning unit (that had been advertised on the listing).

Furthermore, the noise from the London Bridge Station construction, which he said was gone, continued our entire stay, and we needed to keep the windows closed most of the time to avoid the noise, even at night.

Needless to say, we were very unhappy.

One positive: the landlord got us a crib to use for our grandson who visited, and did add another fan, and small table for my husband to use as a desk.

Owner's Response: This is a most unfortunate review and a very odd guest couple. Their understanding of the most basic things was low. I was away from London for part of the time, during which time my mother passed away. One person was available any day, I always gave comprehensive written answers to questions. A workman checked the heating and another issue and found nothing wrong, the management of the landlord company were also involved in helping them. A leak from a flat 3 floors above was immediately reported and fixed. Extra cupboards had been fitted since the photos on the ad, some of which need to be locked for short term visitors. The guest was allowed to purchase anything she wished for their longer than normal stay. Shops are nearby. The guests arrived in May, which in London, is ideally temperate, needing neither heating nor cooling. She felt cold the first two days due to tiredness after a long flight. Then they never opened the windows, even in the cooler evenings when there is very little sound from outside, and did not lower the blinds in the afternoon. In June, I provided an air conditioning unit at no charge, which they seemed to leave on constantly, even when they went away for a few days. Two of the 3 heating units were indeed unplugged in order to be absolutely certain they were not going on by mistake, as they did not want heat. It is simply not true that I regulated the heat remotely, the heat was not required and not on. Guests always have control of the thermostat, which is on the wall. In modern systems, an app is available to view the temperature of the flat. I never complained that they did not turn down the heat, I did explain how the air conditioner worked most effectively. An AC unit that blows air out, also sucks air in, so leaving it on all the time is counter-productive. I advised them on how to turn on the hot water using the manual Boost switch. We adjusted the program so they did not have to do this, once we knew more of their required usage. We did not replace the deadbolt lock, that is always the most secure lock and we always use it. London Bridge construction noise had effectively ended in terms of any residential impact. It can be verified that the night and evening time work had ended, in general Network Rail are very considerate about this matter and had a scheme earlier but this had finished. Evenings were therefore quiet. Some traffic noise and London sounds daytime but Bermondsey St is one way and mostly one lane.

Great apartment, great neighborhood

The apartment fit 5 of us just fine and everything in it worked as advertised. We loved this neighborhood. Fast to any part of London on the tube and away from the tourist centers but not boring. It was fun and filled with great restaurants and life. Only a short walk from Borough Market and the walkway that takes you along the entire southbank. Would happily stay here again.

Excellent centralized location

Me, my almost 16 year old daughter, and 17 year old son stayed in this apartment for a week and it was fantastic. The apartment has everything needed (except for toiletries) for your stay. The London Bridge Station is across the street although most of our trips were out of Monument Station, a 10-15 minute walk across Tower Bridge. The owner, John, was very helpful prior to our arrival; and Yukiko greeted us, took us to the apartment, and walked through all the nuances of the apartment as well as provided information on local needs (e.g., grocery store, types of food locations). The London Bridge Station is under construction and it appears they are working on direct links to the airports by 2018, which will definitely be helpful as taxis are quite expensive. We are planning a trip back next year with my husband and will be booking this apartment again.

London in the Summer

Nice clean place, a perfect match to the pictures provided. Only downside would be that the AC is one unit connected to the window. Our weather was nice so we didn't really need it but if it had been hot it would have been tough.

Nice Flat - Excellent Location

My wife and two children stayed at this flat for 10 days in June. It is in an excellent location very near the London Bridge Tube Station. A short walk and you can be at the Tower Bridge and several pubs, restaurants and a Tesco grocery store.

The flat is very nice. Two bed rooms and a large living/kitchen/table area. The master bed room has a connected bathroom with small shower. The second bedroom had two beds. Both bedrooms had built in wardrobes. The living area was large with a TV with multiple channels and a WiFi connection. From the windows of the flat you have a great view of the Shard.

We felt very safe in the flat. You need a key to access the stairwell. This was an ideal location for our family holiday. Easy access to the tube and we can be anywhere in London in less than 30 minutes. Would definitely recommend it and us it again.
