Conveniently located in an area of Barrington known as Prince's Hill, named for Thomas Prince. In 1652 The Plymouth (Massachusetts) land court granted Mr. Prince this land formerly occupied by the native Wampanoags. Now Prince's Hill is the center of commerce and business in Barrington. This cozy house was built on the last remaining vacant land that at the turn of the 20th century was once our family farm. The original farm house built in 1899 still stands just behind this house. The single quince fruit tree in the back yard is the last from dozens of apple and fruit trees that once made up the local family orchard.
Jay purchased this House in 1990
Why Jay chose Barrington
This house is ideally located close to commerce, public office, public library and center of activity in Barrington... a short drive to local beaches and state attractions. About an hour’s drive to nearby Cape Cod and Boston.

A home away from home--cozy, clean, and comfortable.
My brothers and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jay's cozy but spacious ranch house. From the moment we walked through the front door, we felt right at home. We watched family movies, listened to oldies but goodies, and worked on puzzles. Jay graciously provided the DVD player, CD player, and sturdy card table. We also loved being within walking distance of the Newport Creamery and enjoying delicious ice cream and Awful Awfuls! The week went by way too fast! We hope to return in the fall!
Comfortable, clean, roomy - perfect
Our stay in Barrington was excellent in every way. The house is located near several shops and restaurants and within a short walk from the main commercial part of town and a long biking/walking path. It is a very convenient location. The house itself is comfortable and very clean. It is a small house but feels very roomy. The kitchen is well equipped. Communications with the owner and manager were easy and quick.
The house is a 10-15 minute drive from Providence. We hope to return again.

Perfect Town Center Home
Our family of 4 truly enjoyed our week in Barrington at this roomy 2-bedroom home. The owner's communications beforehand were extremely thorough and helpful. Upon arrival we were met with a spotless, cozy house and fresh flowers in the living room. The kitchen is large and extremely well-appointed - we found everything we needed and more. The beds were comfortable and nicely prepared with linens, as was the bath. Favorite thing: walking to Vienna Bakery in the morning for coffee and treats! We would definitely stay here again when visiting our family in Rhode Island.
Loved the house!
This was a great house. So glad I chose this over a hotel room. The manager Jay went above and beyond for us! I would highly recommend staying here.
