Lovely quiet spot
We very much enjoyed another stay, and were able to spend more time on the deck and in the pool with the warmer weather.
The deck is a beautiful spot to sit and have coffee in the morning, or watch the stars at night.
Monika is easy to reach and promptly refilled the gas for the grill. We enjoy having the opportunity to grill and create some of our own favorite meals, rather than eating out all the time. The kitchen has everything you need.
The pool service and gardeners keep the deck and pool looking great.
We especially enjoy walking along the boardwalk in the historic seaport.
We are already looking forward to our visit next year!
It really was paradise in Old Town
Stayed there for the month of March with family members, including toddler grandsons, coming down for parts of the time. The location is great, a couple of streets from the seaport, away from the craziness of Duval Street, but close enough to walk there. For people like my wife and myself, who have been coming to Key West for ten years, distance from Duval is actually a good thing. There is a brewery, restaurants, grocery stores, Cuban coffee places, key lime stores, etc. all in minor strolling distance. The property itself is just great. There are two buildings, the main one with a bedroom, kitchen (which has everything you would want to prepare your meals at home), washer and dryer, dining area, living room, one and a half baths, and an outdoor shower off the full bath. The second building is basically two bedrooms and a full bath. There was a pack and play, along with other infant/toddler stuff so no need to rent that. The pool is about 14x7 and maybe 3 and a half feet deep. Just perfect for the grandsons to float in and adults to have enough room to enjoy as well. It is in the sun most of the day (which included both standard and daylight savings time in March), losing the sun around Happy Hour time. Once you( re)adjust to the 3/4am roosters it really feels like your own home in no time at all. Monica was very responsive to a couple minor issues I had. (Nothing serious, people who are not a technically challenged about internet connections and TV remotes probably won't need to contact her at all.) The street it is located on is basically residential on the side the house is on with a bar (now known as Lucy's Retired Surfer Bar) at the far end. It is across the street from a parking garage, but does not face any of the entrances and is in back of a privately owned house which removes it even further from the street. I've already booked it for next year, although a different month since someone already beat me to March 2018 (possibly the people who were there March 2016 who I beat to March 2017. Met them at the Waterfront Brewery, very nice folks.), plus I decided I can't miss another St. Patrick's Day/Week/Month in Chicagoland. Probably should stop writing now so I don't oversell it and find all of 2019 already booked.
Thank you very much for the nice review. I am glad you had a great time. Looking forward to the following year. See you then.
Great for visiting the historic seaport
The location is perfect for walking to the historic seaport, and is close to restaurants, a bakery, bars and a corner store. Especially nice was having a parking garage right across the street, with a very reasonable monthly rate.
The deck was a lovely quiet spot to sit and enjoy a meal or cool off in the pool.
The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals.
We look forward to returning!
I am glad you enjoyed your stay. We are looking forward to seeing you next year. Monika
Although this property needs some TLC it was a wonderfully place to stay!
We have been coming to Key West for over 20 years and this was the best place.
Location is perfect right near the Seaport , a few blocks from Duval, and near excellent restaurants.
The main house is fully equipped with everything you need just like home. The guest house is nice as well and can sleep 4 with bathroom accessible from both bedrooms.
The best part is the deck with a cocktail pool where we spent many hours from coffee in the morning to cocktail hour at night. The pool does need some work but great for a quick dip to cool off.
Just really sad it's already booked for next March as we would be back.
Great place and location!!
Stayed in this awesome house for the month of March and couldn't imagine a better stay anywhere else. It's very well equipped and the layout and courtyard were fantastic. Private deck area was perfect for lying in the sun and there was shaded areas also if you needed it.
I wouldn't hesitate to rent this location again if I return to
