This house is a LowCountry style house which means it's up on pilings with parking underneath. It is 1550 sq ft with open living/dining area to kitchen and a 2 story cathedral ceiling making it feel very open. One bedroom and full master bath is downstairs with 2 others up sharing a bath. The front and rear porches are screened to enjoy the outside without the bugs. There is a small back deck with a gas grill on it and a patio area on the ground level to relax too. Outside shower.The beach is only a block down the road and the recreation center is close with a playground area. Tennis courts and basketball are also available there. Bike to the Restaurants or drive 20 minutes to downtown Charleston and other plantations and areas of interest. Wild Dunes golf course is a mile away on the Island also.* This home is handicap accessible.

Sweet!

Loved the feeling of the living area. Owner very responsive: The first night the flat screen TV broke. Owner's son came over on a Saturday night to help. Next morning Jay was at the door with a brand new TV. We rented a golf cart to tour around in. My wife and I went many times for pleasure rides to look at sights around the neighborhoods, shop at the Harris Teeter and we also used it to drive the short distance to the beach access. I had read that the walk to the beach is short, but I worried that it might not be. It was short and we didn't need the cart to get to the beach, but using the golf cart was fun. There was always parking. Just went down to the 29th street access. There is also access at 30th street and seems to be access at every street. Phone number for cart rental is in the house folder. Grilled twice on the gas grill on the back deck. My son enjoyed Jay's Boogie board. The home was clean.

It was very well located. The layout of the house was great for entertaining.

The house was charming. We are a family of 6. Plenty of room. Located next to a beautiful park. VERY short walk to the beach. Owners were very easy to communicate with, and addressed all questions. Fully stocked kitchen, just bring food. We will definitely rent again, when we return to Isle of Palm!!!

Great potential, falls short!

This is a great house in a great location. 1 block from the beach, very walkable. The layout of the house is perfect. Nice to have double screened porches. Internet was great. It is difficult to tell if the house is in the middle of remodeling or is just an aging property. There wasn't anything major wrong that required calling the owner to fix, just one little thing after another. With a little love this house would be fantastic. It needs a good thorough cleaning and the decking needs power washing and a number of things need tweaking(toilets run, fridge isn't cold, cabinet doors fall off, lights that don't work, etc). None of this diminished our enjoyment of the week and the beautiful beach at IOP!

Nice beach house in a great beach town

My family and I stayed at this house in mid-April and we (my wife and I, and our 4 small children) were very happy with it. The house is an older property but it has been nicely renovated. There is a nice screened in porch in the front and in the rear. The living/dining room and kitchen are in one open space, which makes the house feel more spacious than it would otherwise. There are two bedrooms upstairs that share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom, and a bedroom downstairs with its own bathroom; there is also 1 small powder room downstairs. The house is nicely decorated. The AC/heat worked well when needed. The park across the street is nice and the beach is only 1 block away. There is a grocery store about 2 minutes away by car. We would definitely stay here again if the price remains a good value.

Great House - Lots of character

Great location... block from beach and next door to IOP Recreation Center which includes playground for kids, and gym/workout room and dog park. House was clean and had relatively new (and comfortable) furniture. Owner was responsive to the one issue we had, which was getting the TV connected. He came to the house within minutes and fixed the issue. We've stayed at several VRBO homes in the past, and this was one of the best... We would definitely recommend it to others.
