Charming turn of the century home has been fully updated with modern appliances and fixtures, yet retains its historical character and classic San Francisco ambiance. Designed by famous architect, Charles L Bugbee, it was built after the 1906 earthquake. The home is on 3 levels including a spacious roof deck with truly breathtaking panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Bay and the City. Relax on the deck with your friends and enjoy a beverage together while watching the sunset over the bay and the hills of the Presidio. You're only steps away from well known SF restaurants and shops, as well as the Cable Car stop on our corner. High atop prestigious Russian Hill, it's a short walk in any direction to the City's top attractions; Polk Street cafes, Union Square shops, North Beach, China Town and Fisherman's Wharf.
The home sits above the entrance stairs and as you pass through the security gate to the private entrance, you'll begin to feel how special your vacation home is. Enter through front door into sunlit rooms with comfortable furnishings which invite you in and welcome you home for a quiet rest from the excitement of the City outside your door. Both livingroom and master bedroom enjoy views of the bay and the Golden Gate bridge. A large flat screen tv and entertainment system, along with an extensive library of books, dvd's and cd's, provide hours of relaxing reading, music and movies. Close the original pocket doors for privacy and the option of turning the living room into another sleeping room with the fold-out sofa bed. Cable tv and high-speed WiFi internet are provided along with a printer/scanner/copier for your convenience.
The inviting kitchen is functional and cozy with the chimney of the original brick fireplace adding warmth and interest. The appliances are modern; the gas Dynasty stove is a joy to work with for serious cooks; and you can enjoy the view of the Bay from the stove. Dishes, flatware, cooking utensils and a variety of cookware are provided. The open floor plan of the well lighted kitchen/dining room provides a perfect set-up for entertaining your guests and mingling around the fireplace while the meal is prepared. The small bath on the main level retains some of the original tiles and fixtures that were provided to re-build after the 1906 earthquake for those interested in historical elements.
The living room has a queen size fold out couch and the vintage pocket doors close the room off for privacy. The dining area has a day bed that sleeps one (if needed).
Privacy and flexibility come from having 3 bedrooms and 2 baths all on the second level. The master bedroom and adjoining updated master bath provide all the comforts of home with a queen bed, plenty of drawer and closet storage and recessed lighting for relaxing enjoyment of the Bay views. The master bath has been remodeled with a new tub and shower. The 2nd bedroom has a full size bed and the 3rd bedroom has a queen size bed. Six people can sleep very comfortably in the privacy of these 3 bedrooms. The second floor guest bathroom is fully remodeled with a modern shower built around the traditional light well. All bedrooms and bathrooms have plenty of closet and drawer space.
Continue your journey up the light filled stairs that open out onto the breathtaking deck. Whether it's family and friends gathering for a bbq or the two of you enjoying an intimate sunset over the Golden Gate Bridge, listening to the deck music system along with the bell of the cable car passing below, you will find the deck a favorite place among your many delightful San Francisco experiences.

Although, if you do have a car, we can get you a neighborhood parking pass so you can park on the street. There are also several parking garages in the neighborhood if you prefer to park inside.
