We love West Michigan and all it has to offer, so we have made it our home. We lived in this home for 7 years and loved every minute of it with our 3 young children. We hope you enjoy the sunny afternoons in the backyard as much as we have!
Heather purchased this house in 2003

We stayed in this sweet little house the week of the Miss Michigan Pageant, it was perfect for our stay, close to down town for our many trips there and so relaxing.. We will stay here again....:)
With extended family members in the W. Mich area this was a perfect gathering place for us (the parents) from Cincinnati, a son from SE Mich, and another son from Massachusetts. We enjoyed our time together there as well as the opportunity to see other family in the area. We were three adult couples and two small children. The accommodations worked out well for us. We appreciated the fenced in yard for the children. The view from the porch was beautiful, interesting, and relaxing. The dock was a fun place to walk to view boats and also the lake areas. Bear Lake Tavern was a short walk away and had excellent burgers. Muskegon State Park was a short drive away and the beach was lovely and not near as crowded as the beach at Holland State Park can be.
The cottage was clean & nicely furnished with the exception of the kitchen. It was stocked with a hodge podge of pans and utensils that were well past their prime. There was not a decent pan to make pancakes or eggs in. A new, complete set of pots and pans is due. That said, we would definitely consider staying here again.
Every year three girlfriends and I choose a different location for our girlfriend weekend, and this year was Muskegon. We met at Bay Lane Cottage for our 11th annual girlfriend weekend and really, really enjoyed our stay. Although we don't need separate rooms, it turned out there was a sleeping area for each of us. The cottage was spotlessly clean and cheerfully decorated. Kitchen and bathrooms were updated and modern. We spent a lot of time playing board games and gabbing. The only down side was that we'd intended to watch the Detroit Tigers slug their way to the division championship and were disappointed to find out we couldn't get the baseball game on the TV. We worked around it, listening on the radio two nights and going to Bear Lake Tavern the third. Just thought I'd mention it in case there are major sports fans who read this! Other than the disappointment of the Tigers losses (they lost the games but clinched the division) we loved Bay Lane Cottage and would recommend it to anyone.
We were in town for a family wedding. The Bay Lane Cottage worked out perfectly. It was very clean, spacious, well equipped with bedding, linens, kitchen essentials, etc. The cottage was so quiet and relaxing with the cool morning breezes and the warm afternoon sunshine. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck facing the canal and our afternoon barbeques using the grill that is provided. There are a few upgrades I noticed from the pictures that are shown..all a definite plus. We would recommend the Bay Lane Cottage to everyone who loves the Muskegon area. It is definitely "The Perfect Find"!!
Photos accurately reflect this fine rental. Spotlessly clean; beds & furniture nice; all convenient appliances. Owners very accessable and very welcoming. Location provides easy access to both beach and nice town of North Muskegon. Spring, summer or fall, you will be happy here!
This home was wonderful! It was very clean and well maintained and was very roomy for the seven of us (4 adults and 3 kids). The owners are great! They went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay. They were available for any questions we had and offered helpful suggestions on attractions in the area. The home has a lovely view and a great location. My husband took the kayak out and we took advantage of the fire pit for smores! We would highly recommend this home and plan on returning for a longer stay next year.
