The Beach Bungalow is a beautiful beachfront townhouse. Sit on either the first floor deck or the master bedroom deck relax to the sights and sound of the Gulf. See shrimp boats and dolphin from the decks. Peaceful and exquisite. Only 50 feet off a beautiful secluded beach you have a clear view of the Gulf. Features include a pool.

With only 12 units and the only multi-unit homes in the area you will find the beach secluded and private compared to Barrier Dunes with 190 units (only 15 with Gulf view) or Barefoot Cottages which are not on the beach at all.

The Grounds: Exiting from the living area is a screened deck with a gas grill and patio table and chairs. Out the back door and you are no more than 20 feet from the pool. There is a gazebo by the pool and a boardwalk to the beach. There are 2 outdoor showers. Bonfires are permitted (check with county first incase there is a fire ban) on the beach for a cozy campfire. From long walks on the secluded beach, shelling, exploring the beaches, fishing, playing or swimming in either the pool or Gulf of Mexico it or just relaxing on the beach with a good book. There is also plenty of parking right in front of the Beach Bungalow. Bringing the groceries and suitcases from the car to the house is a breeze.

Cape Villas has many activities to choose from within a 30-minute drive. Nested between Port St Joe and Apalachicola, there are many restaurants, activities, and shopping. There are also places nearby that rent boats and personal watercraft (Jet-Skis).

St. Joseph Peninsula State Park: St. Joseph Peninsula State Park with miles of white sugar sand, this park has one of the top rated beaches in the United States. Sunbathing, snorkeling, and swimming are popular activities along the Gulf of Mexico and St. Joseph Bay. From offshore, canoeists and kayakers can take in a superb view of the high dunes and sand pine scrub. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy fishing, hiking, and bicycling. As a coastal barrier peninsula, St. Joseph provides excellent opportunities for bird watching; over 240 species have been sighted in the park. A boat ramp is located at Eagle Harbor on the bay side.

St. Vincent National Wildlife Refuge: The refuge is managed to preserve, in as natural a state as possible, its highly varied plant and animal communities. St Vincent has a large variety of exotic and endangered wildlife. Ten separate habitat types have been identified: tidal marsh; freshwater lakes and streams; dunes dominated by live oak/mixed hardwood understory; scrub oaks; relatively pure stands of cabbage palm; and four different slash pine communities, each with its own unique understory species. St. Vincent is an important stop-off point in the Gulf of Mexico region for neo-tropical migratory birds. The island is a haven for endangered and threatened species, including bald eagles, sea turtles, indigo snakes, and gopher tortoises. Wood storks use the refuge during their migration. In addition, the refuge serves as a breeding area for endangered red wolves. You can get there by boat or ferry.

About Mary

I live in the area and manage my unit. I am easily contacted and will do everything in my power to make sure that you have an enjoyable vacation.

Mary purchased this townhome in 2000

Why Mary chose Florida Main North West

My husband , I and our children vacationed at Cape Villas. I have many fond memories of our vacationing at the beach and decided to purchase a unit after my husband passed away.

What makes this townhome unique

Having lived in the unit for over a year while rehabbing it, I was able to make sure that all the comforts of home are available. There are many added feature to make you feel at home and have a comfortable stay. Very peaceful and relaxing. This is a very unique area. There are no tall condos or hotels anywhere near by! Our beaches are very quiet and peaceful, and in the off-season, in particular, you will rarely encounter anyone as you stroll quietly along the beach. It is a wonderful choice for a family vacation. There are many State and Federal parks around us. St Joe Park has been rated as the #1 beautiful beach in America!

Not a tourist trap!

  • 5 of 5

If you want to truly have a relaxing vacation, then Mary's place is for you. No high rises, no malls, no race tracks. Just the beach and sun, with just enough restaurants to keep you full and content. Mary has a lovely place with everything you need to have a nice vacation. If you are into catching crab, the Money Bayou runs directly in front of the condo. We have stayed the last four years and will continue to return!

Owner's Response: I am so glad you enjoyed my Beach Bungalow and hope you will return in the future. The area is unique in so many ways, very quite and peaceful. It is relaxing watching our resident eagles or watching the dolphins swim by. The crabs from the bayou are not only fun to catch but good eating also! I hope when you return to the area you will pick my Beach Bungalow for your stay.

Quiet, pet friendly beaches and clean, comfortable townhouse.

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our winter escape to the Beach Bungalow. Our calendar is already set for next year. The area is quiet, yet there are so many interesting places to go explore, just a short drive away. Port St. Joe is about 10 miles away and has a nice Piggly Wiggly grocery store, and a couple good restaurants. Apalachicola, about 14 miles away, is a small fishing/oyster town full of quaint little shops and restaurants. Because of the barrier islands, there are many different types of white sand beaches and bays in the area to explore especially within the State Parks. The pet friendly beach in front of the townhouse, which can be seen easily from either of the screened porches in the unit, is just beautiful and so quiet and goes for miles. We walked everyday collecting hundreds of shells and watched shore birds and dolphins. We fished on the beach and caught some interesting fish.

Many people complain about the Money Bayou that sometimes flows directly in front of the property. While we were there we did have a couple days of rain and the bayou did flow to the Gulf, but the bridge access is very close and most days we were able to wade across the Bayou with no problem!

The one thing that really stood out to us was the people in the area, they are SO friendly! True southern hospitality! This includes Mary who was wonderful to work with! If you are looking for a get away on a quiet beach, in a clean, pet friendly, reasonably priced, place to stay, we highly recommend Mary's Beach Bungalow.

The perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely perfect! We were looking for a beachfront, pet friendly place to stay and we found it here. Every amenity you can imagine. This place is very clean and well stocked and it is only footsteps to the pool. I would definitely recommend this bungalow to everyone, especially those with pets. We will be back in 2016. Thank you Mary!

Beach Access Not as Pictured

  • 4 of 5

The townhouse was quite nice and had everything we needed including a well stocked kitchen and lots of towels including beach towels. We only used the master bedroom and the bed was very comfortable. The balcony from the master provided a great view. Parking was right outside the door as was the swimming pool for the 12 units. It was great to have a phone with long distance provided as cell service was limited to non-existent.

The pictures however, don’t show the current condition of the bayou. It overflowed and now runs in front of the villas blocking access to the beach and gulf. There is no boardwalk to the beach as listed. You have to either walk through the murky water of the bayou or go up the street and use the neighbor’s private bridge to cross the bayou. If taking chairs, cooler, children etc. it’s not a convenient option and only residents with a permit can drive on the beach. Again, the house was wonderful but I suggest you request current pictures or confirm whether it is actually beach/gulf front or not.

Great Vacation at a GREAT Price!

  • 5 of 5

My family had a wonderful vacation. Everything we needed was provided to enjoy our stay. The beach and pool were just steps away. We caught crabs for dinner every night and caught more for a midnight snack! My husband fished from the beach while I layed out and the kids rode the waves in on their boogie boards. Everyone was happy all at the same time! The rental was clean. Kitchen stocked. An abundance of towels. Super comfortable beds. Plenty of bathrooms. We were so happy overall with where we were we didn't even leave the rental except to go get groceries which was a short drive to town. Great rental!!!

Comfortable place in a good location

  • 4 of 5

Townhouse is right on the beach facing the Gulf. It provides comfortable beds and seating. We liked eating our meals on the upstairs screened-in porch with a beautiful view. The only downside to the view was the Money Bayou which had changed course in the last storm. It now runs directly in front of the townhouse with red clay colored water.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Triple Tails restaurant... be sure to try the Triple Tail fish. We fished from the Fishin' Xpress out of Port St. joe. This was the only boat which allowed fishing for Red Snapper this year. Went horseback riding on the beach with Rockin M Ranch.

We loved walking on the beach morning and evening with our two dogs. Thank you Mary for allowing us to bring this part of our family!

Owner's Response: I am so happy you had an enjoyable stay! I too feel that our pets are part of our family. Yes, we did have record rainfall which would effect the Money Bayou. When it flows like that it is usually good for crabbing (nets and string provided) and fishing. If you return to the area, please keep us in mind. Thanks, Mary
