About Tim Dunn
We have loved Provincetown and owned property or rented summers for over twenty here five years and for sixteen years have vacationed here yearly with our adopted Russian son. We are both educational professionals living in Boston who have come to feel Provincetown is a second home.. The author Michael Cunningham in his homage to Provincetown 'Lands End' put it well, it is a piece of geography and a social culture utterly unique and unto itself!.
Tim Dunn purchased this Condo in 2012
Why Tim Dunn chose Provincetown
The 19th century amenity of a wide country porch means that in the summer time one can dine , read and entertain outside, Our unit is part of a small complex of three other condos most of them owner occupied year round so the property is beautifully maintained and landscaped with care. We wanted to create a space that was distinctive and welcoming and did not feel like a cookie cutter summer rental. So the house has furniture and furnishings that are beautiful and that we wanted to share with quests - from a roll top desk in the master bedroom and a corner cabinet in the living room built by my great grandfather; to a library of summer reading that includes Provincetown poets and authors like Mark Doty and Mary Oliver, to the novels you may have always wanted to read your way through - Armistead Maupin to all seven volumes of Harry Potter!
What makes this Condo unique
We fell in love with this quaint old house sitting on its hospitable front porch , looking down the slope covered with beach plum and hydrangia and across to a moor. Alden Street is a quiet little traveled narrow street that bends around the rolling colonial graveyard to Shankpainter road so it has a country feel to it. Remarkably however one is so close to the heart of town that one can hear the chimes from city hall and walk to restaurants, bars and cabarets in an easy 8 minute stroll. It is particularly accessible to Macmillan Wharf and the Boston-Provincetown Ferry so there is little need for a car to get here or get around upon arriving. One can pick up the town shuttle to go to the beach. Close to the lively summer scene, and yet even in high season one is living a bucolic serenity. Rent off season and you have a cozy hide away only minutes from Napi's - the town's favorite year round restaurant,

Perfect location.. and ambiance
This half of a renovated 19th C. farmhouse is only an 8 minutes walk from MacMillan Wharf and the Ptown ferry, but because Alden Street is in one way into Bradford there is little or no through traffic, and because it is perched high on a knoll looking out over the rolling moor of the old cemetery , it has the feel of a quiet country cottage From a newly constructed roof deck you can look out across the bay to the cliffs of Wellfleet. The wrap around farmers' porch with comfy chairs and settee and a hammock is where you can practically live in the summer.
We decided to go with the farm house rental after our West End rental for the previous 2 years was unavailable for the week. Fortunately we fell in love immediately with our new rental. Its central location, spaciousness, and relaxed surroundings made us feel at home; the wrap-around porch and upstairs deck made it all the more special, and we appreciated having 2 parking spaces, which in Provincetown is a real premium.
I recommend the farm house wholeheartedly, and we look forward to renting it for many years to come.
Great house and position
Nice position just a short stroll to town center. Just as described, would stay here again.
Clean, Character and Perfect Location
The Farmhouse was a mini oasis in amazing P-town. The location was perfect. Literally less than a 5 minute walk to the main strip in town, walkable to the grocery store, mid section beaches, dog park, and much more while in a serine and peaceful street. We loved all decks to lounge and enjoy meals. The upstairs master was perfect for a getaway from the rest of the house. The only downfall was the very steep stairway. The owner welcomed us with hand cut flowers, visitors guides, and was efficient when responding to emails. Friendly neighbors, huge parking lot, fast wireless internet, and tasteful decor. Looking forward to returning year after year.
Quiet, Private and relaxing vacation
The Farmhouse was lovely. The bed was super comfy! The bathtub was huge! very nice stay.
Historic buildings, national park activities, galleries, antiques, retail shops along 18th and 19th century street with restaurants and bars, dune tours, site seeing planes.
