About Linda Bigler

I am a business coach. I help guide business owners to become better people and create better more successful businesses. Part of the process is promoting life balance, staying active, positive mindset and doing what you love more often. I am congruent in my coaching so I create the same for myself. Tahoe provides a place to experience the balance I need summer, winter, spring or fall. I am grateful for my successes and value the ability to share my fortune with you. I want to help bring the 'FUN' back into your life. I am happy to share my home with others. The cabin is very homey & comfortable and guests feel happy and peaceful while there. I hope you enjoy it too.

Linda Bigler purchased this cabin in 1986

Why Linda Bigler chose Lake Tahoe West Shore CA

I was a ski instructor for 4 years during my college days and loved Tahoe so much I set a goal to own a home here someday. Lucky for me that happened quickly and I was able to purchase in my late 20's. I have traveled to over 30 countries and still think Lake Tahoe is the best most beautiful place in the world for every season. I am always happy and peaceful here. It is a great location, we say the 'West shore is the Best shore'. You will understand when you visit. Quiet, calm and great location. Many outdoor activities available and if gambling is your thing you are half way between No. and So. Shore. Also 1 hour to Reno, 2 hours to Sacramento.

What makes this cabin unique

In the summer there is lawn and flowers in the front and a large deck with table and chairs and BBQ in the back. Hiking or snow shoeing right out the front door. Parking for RV or boat or motorcycle trailer. Fire wood provided. Close to Chambers landing bar, pier and Restaurant, West shore Café, Swiss Lakewood restaurant, Tahoma pizza and the PDQ Tahoma market which has the best sandwiches on the lake made with homemade bread.

Good Price for Modest Property

  • 4 of 5

While this cabin is nothing fancy, it was clean and had everything we needed for a one-week stay at a fair price. Here is my list of pros and cons of the property:

1. Owner was easy to communicate with. She answered emails immediately and even called the cabin during my stay to make sure things were okay.

2. Cabin had everything we needed in terms of items: lots of cookware, plungers, lots of kitchen towels, TV trays, luggage holders, etc.

3. Top two drawers of all dressers, nightstands, and two closets were available for use; didn't have to live out of our suitcases

4. Screens on windows and slider

5. One bedroom contained a daybed, instead of a full or queen, which left lots of floor space for me to set up a pack 'n play, a changing area, and a play area for my kids.

6. One of the bathrooms had a tub and a mini-shower hose, so easy to bath my kids.

7. Very quiet, peaceful neighborhood; didn't feel uneasy about my kids playing outside.

8. Good size dining table that seats six.

1. Deck and yard are quite small; not much room for kids to play out back.

2. Lots of trinkets, pictures and decor. This would not be a con for everyone, but having a 1 and 2 year old, we had to move a lot of things out of reach in order to make to ensure the kids wouldn't break stuff.

3. Master bed and pillows not the most comfortable; we had to double stuff the pillow cases because the pillows were so flat.

4. Unfortunately, the outdoor trash container would not lock while we were there, and the owner did not have repaired in time for our stay. So we had to store our trash inside the cabin.

Owner's Response: You may not have read the complete description of the property. I specifically state not a good home for small children that require supervision. I am sorry you felt 1/4 acre is too small of a yard. The deck is large enough for a table for 6 and 2 sets of chairs with cocktail tables and a BBQ with side table? Most others in the neighborhood are even smaller. There are many pillows in the cabin more than enough for each bed. We happen to like flat pillows and a firm bed but not for everyone. The repair man for the trash bin is only in the area once a week I am sorry I could not control that. He is fixing it tomorrow. I am sorry it didn't fit in your schedule it was hard to find someone to come out for such a small repair job in Tahoe. It is hard to manage from 2 hours away. My property manager died. I have to rely on my cleaning and laundry service right now for information and condition of the cabin. I haven't had any complaints previously as you can see. I hope you had some fun. I did make an effort to stay connected so you would have a great experience. Thanks you for your comments.

Perfect location for Homewood skiing and snow play

  • 4 of 5

Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 elementary age kids) spent 4 nights in this home and loved it!

First off the location is ideal!

-2 miles to Homewood

-2 blocks to open land for snowplay - snowshoeing, make your own sledding run, snowmobiling

The home itself is well equipped for the snow. There is a long covered porch with plenty of wood for the wood burning stove. If it's snowing, the whole family can stand under the covered porch and take off wet gear and hand them in to mom or dad to hang up before coming in - no wet floor to deal with. There are maybe 10 wooden pegs mounted to the wall when you walk in along with boot racks on the ground. We were able to hang up all our ski gear and helmets and line up both snow boots and ski boots and let everything dry without feeling like clothes were everywhere. We kept remarking on how organized it felt. We received over 2 feet of snow during our visit and were very happy for the 3 snow shovels- many hands make light work! We also appreciated being able to throw gloves into the dryer.

The kitchen was well equipped. There were plates and cups to feed an army which meant we could serve and eat a couple meals before we ran the dishwasher. We found measuring cups, a cheese grater, a waffle iron, a toaster, a corkscrew and plenty of plastic containers for left overs. We used the stove, oven and microwave and all worked well, though the microwave is older so it takes longer than newer ones to cook.

The wifi and TV worked well. The showers were fine and had shampoo/conditioner/body soap dispensers in them. We had plenty of hot water. The beds were comfortable enough and we had plenty of towels.

Our only complaint (the reason why I took off one star) is the heater. When the heater comes on it is really loud and it overheats the bedrooms.

Family Christmas

  • 5 of 5

We had a fabulous stay at this cozy home in Lake Tahoe. It is perfect for 6 people with plenty of room. The cabin was nice and warm with the fireplace blazing as the beautiful snow came down outside. It is located very close to Sunnyside which is a favorite restaurant of ours. The kitchen had all the amenities including spices and condiments for cooking. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely choose this vacation home again.

Cozy, warm cabin in a nice part of the Lake

  • 5 of 5

Our Family was comfortable in this Cabin - we are 5. Everything was clean and well maintained. We would defiantly check for availability the next time we go to Lake Tahoe. We skiied Homewood and it was great even with the lack of snow (Feb 2014) and it is two minuets away from the cabin.

It is my second home I am happy to share it. It is in a great location. I am in a quiet neighborhood with many full time residents. I have owned it for 30 years. This home has many eyes on it. It is not a party house. It is very comfortable and cozy. It only accommodates 6 people in beds and dining room and on the deck. Not suitable for small children requiring supervision. I appreciate renters being respectful and leaving it as they find it. Follow opening and closing instructions. Thank You!
