About the property

House, 5 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3.5 Baths, (Sleeps 10-12)

Located in the heart of Summit County, discover the beauty of Colorado's pristine mountains, rivers, lakes and wonderful people.

With views of Lake Dillon and mountain peaks, the house has great views of Buffalo Mountain off the front deck porch swing and Keystone Ski Resort off the double decks in the back with ourdoor jacuzzi that seats 8.

This 4000 square foot home has five bedrooms, including a main-level master suite with king bed and dual sinks in attached bath. Upstairs there is a spacious full bath and two bedrooms, one with a large queen (views of Keystone) and one with a set of twins (with a deck that faces Buffalo Mountain). In walk out basement level, there is a full bath and two bedrooms- double bed in one room and a set of twins in the other. All bedrooms come wih luxury linens and down comforters. One more queen sofa is also available which allows you to sleep a total of 12 people comfortably.

With five bedrooms spanning three floors, there is plenty of room for multiple families or couples while still feeling like privacy is maintained and not 'over-crowded.'

Located 3 houses down from the national forest trailhead, you may want to go on a hike in the summer to enjoy a picnic or a cross country/ snow shoeing adventure in the winter.

This house is less than 15 minutes drive from three major ski resorts- Copper Mtn, Keystone and Breckenridge, two minutes to the extensive shopping at the Silverthorne Outlet Mall and local dining. Sleeding can be done locally in our neighborhood or at the Frisco Nordic Center.

This home has two seperate living areas - perfect for adults upstairs and the kids downstairs. Both living areas have multiple couches/chairs with large flat screen TV/DVD players and movie/book library (adult and kid variety). The upstairs living area also has a gas fire place. The gourmet kitchen has brand new stainless steel appliances (frig, oven, d/w & microwave) and is well equiped with all 'foodie' preparation devices (blender, crockpot, mixer, cookbooks and all gadgets). The dining table comfortably seats 8-10. There is a large gas grill located off the main floor back deck (with table & chairs for outdoor dining). Connecting the two car garge to the kitchen is a large mudroom for skis/hiking boots and plenty of hooks for jackets etc. There is also a second fridge for beer/wine storage.

Our eight person hot tub is located off the back lower level deck. It offers beautiful views of Keystone, Lake Dillon and surrounding peaks. A full size laundry room and an office with accessible computer (house has high speed wireless internet) and crib is also located on the lower level.

Parking can comfortably accomodate 5 cars and snow plowing service is included. We can provide information on catering/home chef services if interested.

This house is located at the very top of Mesa Cortina and feels very private and off the beaten path. The only vehical traffic is from local house owners. This more than anything provides a very peaceful escape from our fast-paced lives.

About The Owner

Phillips Mountain Home is owned by HPEnterprises - a limited family partnership, that purchased the home in 2000 as a place to congregate and enjoy a multi-generational family vacation in the Colorado Rockies. The home is a tribute to our late Grandfather, Henry Phillips Sr, a retired Army Colonel and our father, Henry Phillips Jr, a retired Navy Captain. His two children, Kelly and Blake, manage the home with their spouses Gary and Katie. Together, we have six children (ages 4-21 years old) that allow for an all-ages fantastic multi-family vacations year round.

The Owner purchased this house in 2000

Why The Owner chose Northwest

We love the Colorado Rockies and the year-round opportunities to ski, hike, bike and golf. It is only a 75 minute commute from Denver International Airport- an easily reached location for our entire family.

What makes this house unique

Multiple ski locations within 15 minute drive; sailing at Lake Dillon, great restuarants, close to shopping, hiking trails (at your doorstep) into the national forest with magnificant wild flowers & lily ponds, peaceful neighborhood, ice-skating at Keystone, great summer venue for outdoor concerts, local farmer's market, parades and BBQ cookoff contests, bike and running races

30th birthday surprise and ski trip with friends

  • 5 of 5

We had a total of 4 couples staying at the house along with an infant and a one year old. The house worked perfectly for us and my husband was totally surprised when we pulled up to the house. I was nervous before booking because the map on VRBO showed the house to be further away than what it really was. The drive to Copper mountain was easy and I think everyone enjoyed the hot tub after a snowy day of skiing. I have no complaints and only memories to last a lifetime. Thanks to Gary and his family for being so easy to work with and sharing their house.

Thanksgiving in the mountains

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the house over the Thanksgiving holiday and it provided more than enough space for the group we had including 8 adults and 4 children between the ages of 6 mos. and 8 years old. The layout was great allowing the families to spread out at night and amenities were a bonus. The hot tub was a plus after a few days of early season skiing. Easy to find and very accessible to all of the surrounding area. House was in great shape and delivered as advertised! Would definitely rent again.

Spacious mountain getaway

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this house for our annual mountain getaway and it was perfect for our group of 9. The house was clean, there was plenty of room for everyone, and also plenty of room to park our cars. It was easy to find and located very close to Silverthorne. A wonderful gem of a house!

Colorado stay

  • 5 of 5

On the positive side:

The house was all it was advertised to be. Kitchen was a pleasure to work in.We were there for a family wedding. We had a three month old and having a crib was great. Also toys there for visiting children. Enjoyed having a grill and the kitchen is very well stocked!

On the negative side:

Front door handle and another door handle on the lower level came off! Two of the bath room sinks/drains were very slow draining, and we had to move the sofa in the living room to look for a piece of jewelry and it was VERY dirty. With a $350 cleaning fee, I would have expected a better cleaning job...

If those minor items are addressed, we would definitely stay there again.

Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our family really enjoyed our celebration vacation in this lovely Mountain Home.

There were plenty of bedrooms to insure privacy for all.

Also, we appreciated the nice kitchen appliances including a gas stove.

We enjoyed skiing and snowboarding at Keystone and A-Bason and the shopping was

Great at the outlets in Silverthorne.

Lovely Home with quick access to Keystone, Breckenridge & Copper Mtn.

  • 5 of 5

Our family has stayed at this ski house on several occasions. The owners are a pleasure to deal with. The home has everthing you would need for a wonderful time in the mountains in any season. There is quick access to trails for hiking, running and mtn biking and most ski resorts are accessible within 1/2 hr. The home is charming and can easily accomodate two families comfortably. I am looking forward to my next stay at this property as I fully intend to return.
