About the property

Townhome, 3 Bedrooms + Loft + Family Room + Bunk Room, 3 Baths (Sleeps 10-12)

A dream vacation home in Steamboat Springs, Co. less than a mile down to the base of the mountain. Our three bedroom, three bath townhouse also has a bunk room/den and a loft and easily sleeps ten in beds. Three TVs with cable and DVD. Our mountain vacation home includes a fully equipped kitchen and full size washer/dryer. It is ideal for large families or multiple couples. Everyone can enjoy privacy with each bedroom and bath on its own level.

Our townhouse has been completely remodeled and recently redecorated. It has hardwood floors, new carpet, granite kitchen counters, and new appliances. The decor is warm and comfortable with leather furniture and luxury linens. It is a great place to call home while on vacation. You can eat in on the front or back porch over looking the pool while you BBQ on the gas grill.

Parking / Bus / Steamboat: We have plenty of parking, but public transportation is also available to take you to the ski village or downtown and always brings you back to our door. If you want to eat out, the bus stop is just across the street and arrives every 15 minutes. Then, you are just a couple of minutes from Gondola Square. Steamboat has incredible eating, shopping and a movie theater, strings concert hall or professional rodeo. The botanic garden is a must see.

Locker: In the winter, enjoy access to our heated locker at the base of Gondola Square and a 30% discount on all ski equipment. I have carried skis for 3 kids and believe me this is a luxury for a Dad. Just leave your boots, skis, poles, and helmets in the locker at the end of each day. You'll be able to wear your comfortable shoes to and from the mountain, and best of all no skis to carry home! The locker is in the lower level of the Christie Sport Stalker shop and rental, just across from the lift ticket office. If you need additional storage, Christie's will store rented skis for free or we also have a secured ski locker on the back patio of the townhouse.

Summary: We treated our family to Christmas Holiday in Steamboat Springs in 2000 & 2002. Those memories will last forever and are the reason we finally bought our own place in Steamboat. Our townhouse is so warm and relaxed we now vacation in Steamboat as often as possible. When we aren't using it, we are so happy to be able to share it with you and your family. Steamboat Springs is a great vacation location for all seasons and we are now hosting destination weddings. Just minutes to hiking fishing, biking, horseback riding, hot springs, botanic garden and many shops and restaurants.

About Don and Montie Rouze

Welcome to our home. We are Don & Montie Rouze. We love Steamboat Springs and use our mountain home as much as we can. When we aren't using it, we are happy to share it. We love getting to know our guests and enjoy helping with their vacation plans. We want our guests to think of our mountain home as their's while using it. We have three grown children, a two grandchildren.

Don and Montie Rouze purchased this townhome in 2011

Why Don and Montie Rouze chose Northwest

A perfect family Christmas at Steamboat in 2000 made us pledge that some day we would own a property in Steamboat Springs. A family oriented town and ski area provides activities for all ages. Once you get to know Steamboat in the non ski season you'll love it even more. It's the extras we provide. Read our reviews.

What makes this townhome unique

My sister and brother-in-law own another unit in our townhome complex. We host many large family gatherings and having 2 units close together keeps you family and friends close, but not too close. These two units combined can sleep up to 20 people. Families can gather for meals, but also go their own separate ways for activities.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Had a great time in Steamboat on the mountain, at the hot springs, hiking and doing some nordic skiing. Enjoyed the condo - especially the kitchen. The lazy susan was great for card games! Had a fun spring break. Thanks.

Beautiful, comfortable and convenient mountain townhome

  • 5 of 5

My family of 6 (including a young toddler!) loved our stay in Don and Montie's beloved home in Steamboat. We had not been to Steamboat in over 20 years, and Don provided so much information and guidance prior to our arrival. Their home is so well-appointed and welcoming! From the excellent coffee gift to the completely stocked kitchen, laundry room in the basement, entertainment center, comfortable beds & ALL the amenities we desired for our stay we felt like members of the family! I did decide to use the company Don recommended for a crib & high chair rental which were delivered & set up prior to our arrival. The shuttle is just steps away from your front door for the loop incl the gondola stop..where the convenient locker in the gondola complex is incl with the rental to store all the ski equipment. We also took advantage of the discount provided at Christy sports..thank you!

I cannot say enough about the care provided us by the Rouze family. It is evident from the moment you step into the front hall where a bench awaits & multiple hooks for your outerwear that every detail in this home has been lovingly considered and beautifully maintained. There is even a private loft above the kitchen to share a glass of wine...or coffee in the mornings!

As for Steamboat Springs, we fell in love again with the ski slopes, the restaurants, the friendly employees, the stellar ski school, and the gorgeous views with fresh powder on the slopes. We did a sleigh ride with dinner early in the week which was a blast..and wished we had taken advantage of the nearby hot springs. A large welcoming book is also in the town home with recommendations and information packets are also provided.

Now we want to return in the summer to play more in Steamboat! The 3-hour drive up from the Denver airport is not too arduous, & definitely very scenic. We were glad to have our car for transportation to the larger grocery stores in the quaint town nearby, as well as in the evening to the excellent restaurants. Come stay in this beautiful, comfortable home in Steamboat the next time you want to come to the mountains!

Owner's Response: We greatly appreciate such a kind review and it makes us so happy to have achieved our goal in helping families to establish lasting memories and fall in love with Steamboat as we did many years ago. This family flew into DEN from FL, but flights are available directly into HDN (Hayden) during the ski season, which is only 22 miles away. We enjoy helping connect our guests with local services, activities or event venues they might seek. Anything to save guest's time and maximize their vacation enjoyment, I am happy to answer or research in advance.

Amazing property with every amenity you could want

  • 5 of 5

We decided to use this rental for our family...all 14 of us! It was an amazing home with every possible amenity we could need. We had 2 babies and their were pack'n'plays, high chairs, games, every appliance we could need and so much more. The Rouze family thought of everything. The home is a short bus ride to the resort and very close to grocery stores and restaurants. The family was so sweet and accommodating and if we are in steamboat again we will most certainly stay again! Worth every penny!!!!

What a great condo!

  • 5 of 5

This rental in Steamboat was absolutely dreamy. Working with the owners of the property was extremely easy. They went above and beyond to assure that we had an enjoyable stay. There was even a package of fresh steamboat coffee left on the counter as an arrival gift! Walking across the street to the bus stop to head to the mountain was quick and easy. True luxury! Will definitely stay again.

Gorgeous, Well-Maintained Condo

  • 5 of 5

This was our second year in a row staying at this beautifully decorated condo. We stayed with another family both times, 3 and 4 nights. The Master Bedroom is very comfortable, but I can say that we were equally as comfortable in the Main Floor Bedroom, which is really like a second Master because of the attached bathroom. We really appreciate how easy it is to "land" in this place with all of our luggage and ski gear. There are many hooks throughout to hang jackets, helmets, etc, and empty drawers, closets and cupboards in the kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms which make it very easy to move in. We also appreciate the well-stocked kitchen - ziploc bags, foil, paper plates and disposable cups with lids even. The owner is extremely attentive and has been quick to reply with any question we have. He even found a mitten we had lost and is mailing it to us! The bus is very easy to use and got us quickly to gondola square. Use of the ski locker in Gondola Square has been fantastic. We've already made our reservation for next year.

Has it all!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this unit as a home-base for our daughter's wedding in Steamboat. The layout was ideal for our group - we all had our own space, yet never felt too spread out. Loved the western decor. There was not a detailed missed, as far as catering to guests. There was even a sewing kit that came in quite handy the morning of the wedding. Everything was clean & in excellent condition - it truly felt like we were guests in a home vs. just renters. The owners were always available for questions and gave us some wonderful recommendations for restaurants & things to do in Steamboat. We loved the little touches, like the bag of fresh coffee waiting for us on the counter. Location was perfect - right on the shuttle line, but also within walking distance to ski area (or a quick drive for those of us not acclimated to mountain air). There's a nice patio in back, too. We definitely want to return to Steamboat & plan on staying at this VRBO in the future.

Owner's Response: This is our second home and not just a rental property. This guest incapsulates why we do rent our home when we aren't using it. Being part of a families important wedding or vacation and life long memories is rewarding for us too. We are happy to help guide our guest to the right restaurants or catering. We do provide our guest with a locally roasted high altitude coffee that will help remind you that you are on vacation and don't have to go to work this morning. Everyone loves the coffee provided by Steamboat Coffee & Tea Company.
