Overview

About the property

Condo, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-7)

Hi! Thanks for stopping by. We have two young children, we've made our condo as kid-friendly as possible - with all the adult perks we can't live without!

2017 AVAILABLE DATES (updated 6/29/17 by Kara)

7/21 - 7/28 (Fri - Fri) $1350

9/8 - 9/15 (Fri - Fri) $850

*Please note that the Club does charge a weekly fee to use the amenities. It is $85 per week for adults and $50 per week for kids. Daily rates are $17 and $10.

THE CONDO: FOR THE KIDS

You will not have to bring everything from your house to ours. The toddler beds are here if you need them, in the closets if you don’t. Before the start of every season we have the carpet professionally eco- cleaned, bleach the sheets and towels (all white), and go through all the toys for cleanliness and completeness. We use quilts and blankets for our bedding so they can be easily washed in the condo.

- 3 toddler beds,

- 2 pull out futons in the master BR for bigger kids

- wall to wall carpet,

- large wood dining room table (fine for art projects),

- plastic dishes and cups for meals,

- outlet covers,

- safety bars on low windows in MBR,

- bathroom stool,

- large bins of kids toys, including a "secret dollhouse"

- books,

- games (with all the pieces!)

- crayons and paper,

- kids movies,

- regular cable and DVR for their favorite shows.

- beach toys.

(if your child falls in love with a toy or book please feel free to take it with you, I frequently replenish the supply!)

THE CONDO: FOR THE ADULTS

The unit overlooks the 1st hole, fairway and lake of the golf course. We spend our precious alone time in comfort – mostly on the deck that has been transformed into an outdoor room with comfortable chairs, outdoor carpet, and custom made benches and table for outside dining. We have a perfect sunset view over the lake, and we get lots of beautiful sunsets here!

There's a flat screen TV, DVD, gas fireplace, washer/dryer, and fully stocked kitchen. The master bath is huge, with a double sink, jetted tub and shower. The master bedroom has a desk with monitor and wireless internet, and a second flat screen TV.

We’re all about making life easy, especially at the beach. A few things that matter to us and we’ve put out for you are:

- nice silverware and proper dishes (i.e. not melamine)

- serving pieces for dinners

- good glassware, including wine and champagne glasses and frosted mugs in the freezer,

- high quality blender,

- cooking spices, salt & pepper, etc. (all fresh)

- a “beach cart” for hauling your stuff to and from the wave pool if you walk,

- an umbrella stroller and picnic blanket,

- Google Chromecast on TV so you can stream Netflix, Amazon, etc.

THE COMMUNITY:

The Peninsula is the perfect vacation for golfers and families. The huge outdoor wave pool has a graduated entry and a very clean man-made beach. There are an abundance of lounge chairs, a snack bar, restaurant and bar for eating in or carry out, and clean bathrooms. Lifeguards are on duty at all times. It's like being on a private island at a luxury resort.

There is also a huge adult pool with hot tub and an indoor pool with hot tub. You'll also find a sand volleyball court, a full basketball court, and 8 tennis courts with 2 types of surfaces.

The community center has a large fitness room with classes and personal training. Or treat yourself to a massage in a spa room. There is a great kids playroom with foosball, air hockey, coloring, TV's and toys. During the summer there are organized activities every day for children.

The community is perfect for biking, running or walking. It's a half a mile to the bay where you can enjoy drinks on the beach while the kids explore. It's a perfect 3.2 miles to the gatehouse and back.

The golf course is called 'The Pebble Beach of the East'. It's a gorgeous course designed by Jack Nicklaus, 7,200 yards, with a par 72.

SURROUNDING AREA

You will be 8 miles from Rehoboth Beach, it takes about 20 minutes to get into the center of town. Along the way you will find many chain restaurants and 5 sets of outlet shops, a huge selection including Polo, Coach, Sony, Gymboree, Banana Republic, Nike, J. Crew, Black and Decker and Gap.

The town of Rehoboth is as charming as can be. Rehoboth Avenue is 4 long blocks of boutiques, fantastic restaurants, ice cream, pizza and beach shops. The beach is wide and long and has over 2 miles of boardwalk with arcades, shops, and Funland with rides and games. The games are typically a dollar and the rides are between a quarter and fifty cents so it's a place you can go a few times (bring one of our large flannel sheets and grab some food from the boardwalk for an evening picnic on the beach!)

Rehoboth also has 2 water parks, Jungle Jims, and Midway Speedway which also has go-carts.

There is no lack of things to do, you'll need a full week to get it all in!

About The Owner

We live in Northern New Jersey and have 2 little girls. Kara has been vacationing in Rehoboth for 25 years. Rich is a convert from the Jersey Shore! If you need directions, information, or recommendations I'll be happy to provide any help I can to make your vacation amazing!

The Owner purchased this condo in 2005

Why The Owner chose Delaware

Going to the beach with children is a major production. The wave pool beach is our favorite thing - the bathrooms and snack bar (and real bar!) and nice lounge chairs with umbrellas make it so easy to relax and have a great time. We are die-hard beach people and thought we'd spend half our time at the real beach and half at the wave pool beach, it's turned out to be 100% wave pool beach!

What makes this condo unique

The Peninsula and surrounding area has something for everyone - golf, pools, outlet and boutique shopping, and the boardwalk. Rehoboth also has fantastic restaurants.

Wonderful Retreat for Family with Kids

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Peninsula before but this place was our favorite. We stayed the week with 3 young children who did not want to leave at the end of the stay. They loved the toys, the amenities (great pool and community) and jaunt to the beaches. The condo was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook meals and do laundry. It was clean and comfortable. The neighbors are helpful and super friendly. The well furnished deck with a beautiful view was a bonus!

Kara was wonderful to work with and was really responsive and helpful. We would come back even without kids. Love the location, the condo and all of the amenities.

Had a great time staying at this condo! It really feels like you're staying at a resort. The club house is beautiful and equipped with a fitness center, spa and two huge pools! The condo is clean and spacious! We loved eating on the screened in porch. I would definitely stay here again.

Kids, Family or Girls weekend! Perfect retreat

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed in Windswept 3 times, for 3 different vacation experiences. I went with the family, just my kids and my friends kids, and a much needed adult girls only weekend. I would go back in a heart beat. The place is like driving into a beautiful tranquil resort and has tons to do. Clean, and well stocked, and great owners. There are 3 pools, indoor /outdoor and a wave/beach type pool. Poolside drinks and food, full gym, tennis courts, you can walk to a small beach , basketball, gym room, close to beach area, outlets, and great places to eat, and fun bars! LOVED the stay! Will be back!

Vacation within a vacation

  • 5 of 5

With three kids, this place was perfect! And alone my husband and I have enjoyed the full luxury of the community! The owner has thought of everything inside the condo and I had to tear my kids away from all the toys inside this comfortable condo to go to the wave pool! But once there is was impossible to leave. It is clear the owners are entertainers also- with a stocked kitchen, we wanted for nothing! You could spend an entire week in this cozy community- with golf, pier, playground, running/walking paths, restaurants, snack bar, community center and two amazing pools. Or it's just a short jaunt to the action in rehoboth. I appreciated being away from the hustle and bustle, and coming and going from town and boardwalk when it suited us! We have been several times- this is southern hospitality at its best and we'll be back for more! Thanks Kara!

Would definitely rent again and again

  • 5 of 5

Windswept Drive is a wonderful get away that'll meet any of your neeeds. I've been coming here since my children were five and are now teenagers.

From the cleanlyness and most updated utilities of the condo to the convienceness of its location on the resort. Once you park the car, biking or walking to the magnificent clubhouse or fishing pier is easy. The beautiful screen porch is a bonus when waking up to either golfers playing through or families of geese flying overhead. Nature, biking trails and a playground are all nearby as well as the feeling of being within the "neighborhood" come with the turn of a key.

Off season or during the middle of summer, this is the place to be. I plan on coming here as long as it's available.

Owners are extremely easy to deal with and will accommodate.

Lovely Relaxing Getaway

  • 5 of 5

The condo was neat, clean and well stocked. We cooked many meals without any issues. Everything you need is there. Definitely set up for little kids. The electric outlets even have the plastic safety plugs. Plus tons of toys. Wish we could have vacationed here when our kids were younger. We have a 13 year old and an 18 year old. My oldest wanted to golf (and hates the beach) while the younger one wanted to go to lay at the beach all day. This was the perfect compromise. Golfing was wonderful. Clubhouse had a very nice fitness center with everything you need to get a good workout. Wave pool very nice although also tailored to the younger kids. Trip info Rehoboth was about 30 minutes and we had no issues parking there. All in all, great trip. Could see us coming back to stay here again.
