About the Property
Cabin, 1 Bedroom + Loft, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)
Winter or summer, you really can't go wrong with the Mt Baker Birdhouse. It is close to hiking trails, the Nooksack river, the cute town of Glacier and the Snowline community park which boasts a childs fishing pond, jungle gym, swings and slide, and seasonally has tennis courts and a full size pool with lounging capabilities.
The house is a large one bedroom with a full bath. The bedroom is located on the second floor, where it opens up to the loft area with two twin beds tucked into the nooks. The bathroom is quite nice with heated tile floors and marble surrounding the the luxurious, retro tub.

we love pets. We own two dogs, Shaggy and Luna, and they are the best in the world. That said, we know the mess they make/are capable of. So, we have instituted a two dog limit (no cats, sorry), and they are to be charged 10.00/night per dog. We feel this is a break-even charge for us, because of wear and tear and labor required to bring the Birdhouse back to it's pre-dog state! The Birdhouse has a doggie-door and a no-pets-on-furniture policy. The park next door is an off-leash area, even if it is not labeled as such. There are also hiking trails in the neighborhood--which are definitely off-leash areas....moreless

- The Birdhouse is the best. There is a leather couch, a privacy fence surrounding the deck/hottub area, all the kitchen appliances are practically new, the whole house has been re-modeled, up-cycled and down-sized. It has an eclectic, contemporary cabin feel to it, one that would be hard to duplicate! Located in the gated community of Snowline, The Birdhouse is close to the park and amenities, including but not limited to: Tennis, pool, jungle gym/playground, kid's fishing pond, big grassy area, picnic area with grills, basketball net, pickle-ball, and hiking trails galore. The house itself has quite a few books lying around it, there are some dvds, and the kitchen is up to any task. There is a coffee grinder, tea-kettle and an assortment of mugs for your pleasure. Within a ten minute walk is an outstanding frisbee-golf course, and there is boating galore on the Nooksack for whitewater enthusiasts....moreless

Although we do not charge a deposit up front, it is understood that any damages that are the fault of the renter will be paid for by the renter. These terms are clarified in our rental agreement.
We do allow dogs (only dogs, sorry cat owners) they are charged at a rate of $10/night/dog.
Priority is given to longer rentals; we take two night rental reservations for only the next thirty days. Exceptions may be made, and are done so only by the owners! Likely reasons for exceptions: 1. If your check-in date is the same as the check-out date of the previous guest. 2. If your check-out date is the same as the next guest. 3. If you want a mid-week rental, and it is the slow season. One can view all our reservations by clicking the "flexible dates" box. All major holidays require a three night stay.

There are a million things to do in the Mt Baker area, but there are also a million reasons not to do ANY of them. Sometimes you need to just relax by the fire!

About the owner: My wife and I live in Bellingham, she is a licensed Massage Therapist, beautiful skier and avid outdoor enthusiast. I am an Alaskan commercial fisher, skier, and enjoy the indoors more so than she. The cabin, for us, is a way to escape the hustle and bustle of the city life (such as Bellingham may be). When we come to Glacier, it is the silence that enthralls us. No traffic, no sirens, no trains, just the wind in the trees, and the gurgle of the creek!
Why the Owner Chose Deming, WA, USA:
The Birdhouse is so ideally situated. Of course Mt. Baker Ski Area is a huge draw for us, but we also love the summers, chalk full of Blueberries, wild flowers, chantrelle mushrooms, awe-inspiring views, the warm winds on cool days and the cool shade in the trees on hot days!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
For larger parties, or better separation, we also rent THE JIM JACK SHACK vrbo 461023. Located behind the Mt. Baker Birdhouse and up the hill, The Jim Jack Shack is our newest creation. Totally different, equally as cool.
