About Donna Kalinske
I was raised in Tucson, but following college I left for NYC and LA, returning here in 2005 to care for my mother. It was then that I rediscovered my love for the Sonoran Desert and for Tucson. Having studied design at UCLA and having worked in design for many years I thoroughly enjoyed both renovating and furnishing my home. A am so grateful for having discovered this beautiful spot.

Why Donna Kalinske chose Viewpointe
I want you to fall in love with the the Sonoran Desert and the Catalina Mountains and to have a quintessential desert experience. I chose this home the moment I saw it and take great pleasure in sharing it and its breathtaking views with others.
What makes this Townhome unique
The home has spectacular views. It is calming and restful and surrounded by nature. It is a haven and a retreat yet within minutes of shops, restaurants and galleries and only 20 minutes to the University of Arizona, a Tucson jewel not to be missed. It is also only 2.6 miles to Sabino Canyon, a spectacular desert oasis for walking and hiking.

Ideal Base for Active or Relaxed Stay
Another wonderful stay in Donna’s comfortable townhouse. We have enjoyed it on several previous visits, but this time we spent a month. Being here for longer meant that we could shop for supplies and cook without an eye to leaving, and could reacquaint ourselves with known destinations and explore new ones at greater leisure. Of course, Sabino Canyon, Catalina State Park, Tohono Chul Park, and Saguaro NP/Rincon were staples for walks/hikes, but we also visited Madera Canyon and the Boyce-Thompson Arboretum (a geology walk) for the first time. The University continues to be a terrific resource, not to mention a beautiful campus. We enjoyed two science talks and a performance by Chita Rivera, and worked out at the UA Recreation Center ($10/day pass, $49/month, excellent). The house is well-equipped for any length stay, the location cannot be beat, and, as another guest has written, “There's nothing like waking up to the sun shining on the Catalina foothills.” It’s a gem.
We spent the month of December, 2017 in Donna's wonderful condo. Everything you need is there and it is close to great shopping and dining. The view is exactly as the pictures represent. I highly recommend staying here.
Wonderful condo getaway in Catalina foothills above Tucson
Very comfortable 2 bdrm condo in a small complex nestled in the Catalina foothills. Easy access to hiking in Sabino Canyon, shopping, restaurants and about 30 minutes away from downtown Tucson. Spacious, wonderful view of the mtns and quiet- condo was nearly perfect for our two week stay. Enjoyed grilling on patio. Kitchen well equipped. Beds comfortable and plenty of closet space. Watching birds and drinking morning coffee while enjoying the mtn views listening to the small waterfall feature was a nice way to start each day. Owner easy to work with and photos are very accurate. Check in and out procedure very simple. Only one piece of furniture showed some significant wear and outdoor cushions suffered from sun damage but overall condition and cleanliness of the condo was very good.
Highly recommended for couples seeking something other than a mega resort experience. It was easy to feel like a “local” after just a few days.
Good and not so good
The view was great as well from inside as outside. Location was very good. Kitchen had been remodeled and we were there for almost a month and had everything in the kitchen that we needed.
We had a serious problem for us because the zip code that we were given ,89523 was not the correct zip code. Correct zip code was 85718. We had our post office box up our mail once each week and send to us. Before we found our the zip code was incorrect, our mail was lost and we still have not gotten everything back to our home location.
It would have been nice to have a closet in the guest bedroom that had a hanging rod in it instead of a desk. We only had guest for 4 days so worked around it.
Other than these two things, it was fine.
We have stayed in this lovely condo 4 times because of the mt view
Well cared for
A Favorite Place
We have stayed here a several times. We make frequent trips to Tucson and always check to see if Donna's wonderful home is available. Sadly, it is often not. This trip we asked Donna if it would be okay for us to host a small shower for my niece and she agreed. We had so many comments and questions about it. When my cousin walked in, she announced that this was her favorite of all the place we've stayed. Another guest wanted to know if it might come up for sale soon.
Donna put effort and thought in renovating and decorating this house to feature the incredible views. The decor is lovely, but it is also very comfortable and homey. Add to that, the kitchen is well stocked and there are so many extras. The neighborhood is friendly and we enjoyed walking around there and spending time in the community pool. We are looking forward to our next stay. And if it ever does come up for sale, we want to be first in line.
Secluded in the foothills yet only a 20 minutes drive on Campbell Ave. to the University of Arizona. Tucson is a university town with its energy, sports, museums, theatre, Andrew Weil, and the world recognized UA College of Science. If you don't want to go into the city, everything you need is close by. A beautiful open air shopping center, art galleries and a short walk to the landmark DeGrazia Gallery. More than a dozen restaurants are nearby including North, Firebirds, Acacia, El Charro's. Walking or hiking in Sabino Canyon or up the Finger Rock Trail, or the many miles of road and off road bike trails. Experience living in the desert with the Saguaro's, the animals, the 'light', the clean air, the smell of the creosote when it rains. Enjoy the desert from your living room. There are four resorts nearby to visit for restaurants, golf, horseback riding. Ventana Canyon Resort, Westin La Paloma Resort, Westard Look Resort and Hacienda de Sol.
