About Donna Kalinske

I was raised in Tucson, but following college I left for NYC and LA, returning here in 2005 to care for my mother. It was then that I rediscovered my love for the Sonoran Desert and for Tucson. Having studied design at UCLA and having worked in design for many years I thoroughly enjoyed both renovating and furnishing my home. A am so grateful for having discovered this beautiful spot.

Donna Kalinske purchased this townhome in 2005

A Favorite Place

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed here a several times. We make frequent trips to Tucson and always check to see if Donna's wonderful home is available. Sadly, it is often not. This trip we asked Donna if it would be okay for us to host a small shower for my niece and she agreed. We had so many comments and questions about it. When my cousin walked in, she announced that this was her favorite of all the place we've stayed. Another guest wanted to know if it might come up for sale soon.

Donna put effort and thought in renovating and decorating this house to feature the incredible views. The decor is lovely, but it is also very comfortable and homey. Add to that, the kitchen is well stocked and there are so many extras. The neighborhood is friendly and we enjoyed walking around there and spending time in the community pool. We are looking forward to our next stay. And if it ever does come up for sale, we want to be first in line.

I absolutely loved my stay at Donna's Tucson home!

  • 5 of 5

Donna's home in the Catalina Foothills of Tucson was the perfect place for me. I chose her home because of the wonderful views of the mountains from her ceiling to floor windows and I was so pleased. I'm an outdoors person and I love the fact that even while I was sitting indoors, I felt like I was outdoors. Donna's home is comfortable in so many ways. Many times when I am traveling I have trouble sleeping, but the mattress in the master bedroom is super comfortable. I felt like I was sleeping at home. The kitchen area is fantastic. The cabinets are stocked with coffee, coffee filters, spices, plus so many dishes and pots and pans. Also, a complimentary bag of gourmet coffee and 2 fresh scones were waiting for me on the countertop. I really appreciated the thoughtful gesture. There are 2 nice areas in the living room - one for viewing tv and one by the fireplace for reading and quiet times. The patio area is wonderful - so big and plenty of tables and chairs. The neighborhood is peaceful and I felt safe and secure. I am a swimmer so I I used the community pool. I was the only one there so it was like having my own private pool. I come to the Catalina Foothills area of Tucson every July and out of all the places I have stayed I like Donna's place the best. I hope to stay here again one day.

Simply an Amazing Property!!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at this property the first week of April, with my wife and our 5 yr old daughter. Let me just say that our daughter keeps talking about her "hotel-house" and wants to go back. Need i say more?

The house has everything you could possibly need: towels, blankets, dish soap, laundry detergent, all silverware and kitchen stuff, spices, even a telescope and binoculars (which i also brought not knowing), to name a few. Thank you for that. It made life much easier.

We watched TV for about an hour during our whole stay. There is a full compliment of Netflix and cable channels. We never needed to watch TV.

The stereo, we couldn't get to work; i wish we could have used it to play some music, but we just used our phones instead.

The pool was indeed heated, which was a big plus. The pool was about five houses walking distance, which was a nice quick walk. It's a very small pool, which is actually a good thing because that means it gets heated fast. There were only about 5 lounge chairs, but except one day when a couple of college kids came there, there was no one at the pool. Even the college kids said they were surprised to see us, since there's nobody ever there.

The neighbors were all friendly; everyone waived.

The house has a perfect view of the mountain, and it's at a perfect distance from it too. Furthermore, there is a valley from the backyard all the way to the mountain, giving you even more privacy than you could imagine. No one can see in the house, and the houses are far away.

The location of the house was perfect. Close to everything. There is also a grocery store about a mile away.

The house is nicely decorated. There's plenty of seating. The beds are comfortable. The pillows were great. (We brought our daughter her own pillow).

The house is just perfect! My best experience was in the morning, sitting out on the patio with some coffee, looking at the mountain, and listening to the birds sing.

You will not regret it. Thank you Donna for allowing us to stay at your place!!!

Continues to be perfect in location and comfort

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I have rented this townhouse three times now, and it continues to please. This time we tried a stay in May, hot, hot, hot! But we were able to rise early and quickly get to Sabino Canyon and get a walk in before mid-morning. Some days we took an early-morning walk in the neighborhood (across Swan, in Skyline/Bel-Air), also revisited Catalina State Park for a morning hike. And then there was the pool! Very delightful. The house and dynamite patio are really comfortable, the doves, quail, hummingbirds, water feature, mountain views are restorative.

Amazing mountain view

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at this property was one of the best we've had in Tucson. The peaceful patio, with mesmerizing mountain views and trickling fountain, was great for bird and lizard watching, tea in the morning and lovely evening meals in the warm desert air. Located conveniently to many great restaurants, hiking trails and tourist activities in the greater Tucson area, it was the perfect base for our relaxing visit. The community pool is just a close walk away and offers a refreshing option on hot afternoons. The town home is beautifully furnished with many artistic decor features and offers every amenity needed for a comfortable home away from home. We hope to stay here again as we consider becoming Tucson residents ourselves!
