Settled on a small hill, just off the old town Basseterre with fabulous views on the harbor and the caribbean sea, just a 3 min. walk away from the town beach and vegetable and fish market, lies the privately owned property Palms Court Gardens, surrounded by one acre lush, tropical gardens and a luxury infinity pool.

The property consists of the main house, housing the rooms of the owners, the kitchen for the restaurant (Open Mo - Sun: 9am - 5pm) and the Shell Works gift boutique, and an all wood cottage. The rental apartment is on the second floor of the cottage, offering the best view on the island of the historic town Basseterre, the harbour and the ocean with the neighbouring island Nevis in the background.

Being on the top floor of the wooden cottage, the apartment's ambiance profits from the open vaulted Caribbean style wood ceilings with its visible beams. The decor is held in a luxurious, mediterranean 'shabby chic' style. A fully equipped kitchen with enclosed dining/living space, a spacious bathroom with walk in shower and separate toilet, a library, free Wi-Fi, a large air conditioned bedroom with one queen size and one single bed (enough space to put another bed for a family with 2 children) and a large flat screen TV, Bose radio/CD player, offers everything you look for in your home away from home.

Palms Court Gardens is privately owned. Until 2003 it belonged to the Royal Bank of Canada who for many years had their managers staying at this property. In 2003 it was sold to a local business man and his wife - an arts and crafts teacher from Switzerland. The property and gardens then were completely transformed into a mediterranean/ Caribbean dream and opened to the public the first time in 2010. Although on a day with cruise ships in port, an average of 10 - 30 visitors are touring the garden and 10 - 15 day visitors are spending some time at the pool (9am - 5pm), the guests at the cottage still enjoy their full privacy, as the apartment is located on the second floor and out of the eye of the garden visitor.

The cottage was initially built for the family's own purposes; a design studio on the ground level and a one bedroom apartment on the second floor for their private guests. It is now offered for the first time for rent.

After the family purchased the property in 2003, a 7 year period followed of extensive restorations, re-landscaping, and adding a luxury infinity pool and the guest cottage. The family finally decided to share the beauty of the gardens and the stunning ocean, town and mountain views with the public. Carrying idea was to support the Children Educational Fund St.Kitts with the generated income. A special attraction at Palms Court Gardens is Shell Works

St.Kitts, with its production site and gift shop located between the guest cottage and main house. Jewellery, gift items and home accessories, all made from natural and local materials, are produced right on location and invite the visitor to watch and talk to the artisans.

Incredible and Breathtaking

The pictures do not do this property justice. Beautiful gardens, incredible view of the bay & islands from every which way, awesome staff especially the chef! Could not have been happier! Must try evening swim, banana bread, drinks, breakfast, & shrimp quesadilla. Mango and starfruit fresh from the grounds. Very comfortable!

Comfortable cottage in wonderful location!

We had the best time staying at Palms Court Gardens. The cottage had every amenity we could ask for (kitchen was well stocked!), and the bed was very comfortable. The bedroom is air conditioned, which was good, because it would have been very warm at night otherwise (summer nights are warm!). During the day, we generally just left the screen doors on the front of the cottage open so the nice ocean breeze could come in! We regrettably never ate at the Palms Court Gardens restaurant, but the staff was very accommodating and helpful during our stay. We enjoyed eating breakfast on the patio in the mornings and having the pool area to ourselves in the evenings. The location was convenient to different activities on the island and we had no problem parking our rental car on the road right outside the Gardens. For those of you interested in activities, its walking distance to ProDivers Scuba (highly recommend!) and many of the tour groups pick up from OTI, which is just a short walk away as well. Thank you again helping make our trip so wonderful!

Exceptional across the board. A hidden paradise on a gorgeous island.

The views, the property, the people, and the service were all top notch. We felt like we were in paradise from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. We have stayed on the island two times before at the Marriott and have had wonderful trips, but Palm Court Gardens will be our choice from now on!

Perfect Vacation Spot!

I recently stayed here for my boyfriend's birthday, the staff was incredible! They were so friendly and accommodating. The views are incredible, and sitting on the swinging chairs on the balcony over looking the pool and water with a perfect breeze was one of the highlights of our stay. The property was amazing and so worth the money spent. Can't praise them enough and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quiet and beautiful place to stay!

Slice of HEAVEN AND PARADISE!

Incredible cottage and location! Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Besides the floral gardens, there is a restaurant on site and they were very accommodating during our 8-night stay. There is a pool there and it is used by locals and tourists until 5pm each day, but it was never a bother as the cottage is on the second floor overlooking the pool. After 5pm you have the pool to yourself! It had a full kitchen which was exceptional and there was a wonderful bathroom as well as master suite. The bed was extremely comfortable and we rested well each night. The Master does face a residential street that did have some road noise and activity, but we were so tired it never bothered us. The view from the balcony is just peaceful-looking out at the sea and watching the catamaran's and cruise ships come in each day. The food at the restaurant was wonderful and delicious and reasonably priced. The staff is top notch from the gardener to the service staff. I'm so glad to have found this place-it was an amazing stay and I would definitely stay there again should I travel back that way!
