Beautiful Condo, Beautiful Oceanfront
We thoroughly enjoyed staying here, it was hard to leave. We stayed 8 nights and found everything we needed here. Condo is well equipped; all we needed to buy was food. There are beautiful tide pools and a beach for surfing or boogie boarding. We bbq'd and cooked meals alot in the well equipped kitchen. Saw turtles out front every day. We hope to return soon!
Listen to the surf!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kona Bali Kai unit 225. The large lanai overlooks the ocean and we love sitting on the loungers, listening to the surf crashing on the rocks below. We find it soothing at all times of the day and night. The unit is well equipped with everything needed and seems to have been recently updated. Kona Bali Kai is a short drive from the central section of Kailua-Kona so has easy access to restaurants and shops, but not the crowds. We have stayed at Holly’s properties before and find her very accommodating and helpful.
It was so noisey every day with construction workers that we would never stay in that bilding again. It seemed that the management had no regard for the guests. Thom Brunner
I was so distressed to see that you say the noise was continual during your whole stay! I knew about the stairwell stuff, but did not know about other noise that was disrupting you in the condo! At the very least, I would have certainly comped more nights for your having to suffer with the noise. I got reports from another guest two doors down that the noise was disruptive for three days. I believe you were in the condo for two full weeks, and I am horrified to hear that the noise was constant in the condo for the full two weeks?
Management did schedule work last minute and it was very upsetting to me and I of course let them know and asked how long it would go on. They assured me that they were done with that part of the building, so I did not know that it was continuing. This was most definitely an unlucky event for you (and me) and I am very sorry that your time in my condo was ruined due to it. The good thing is that it is over with and the condo can go back to being everyone's favorite (all other reviews of the unit are stellar and the noise is of course not a regular thing . . in fact, never before, and most likely, never again.) I know you've mentioned that you would never stay here again, and I certainly understand, but hope you do know that what you went through is not a regular occurrence and has actually never happened to me before with any of my units. (There has been noise before from various maintenance etc., for a day, but I've always known about the major stuff in advance and have let guests know in case they want to re-locate.)
The Perfect Studio in the Perfect Location
We wanted a place that was on the water, and in the neighborhood of a good snorkeling beach, and hoped for a place with wood and tropical decor. 225 was all that and more. It has been beautifully furnished with wood furniture, wood paneling and every appliance one could want. Great bed. It has a very nice walk in shower - that was good for my husband with some mobility limitations. It is on a second floor corner that fronts right on the water to the front and a little cove with a view of a historic stone church in the distance on the right. We could park for free right underneath our room and could walk to the lava rocks out front to see turtles. We never closed the doors and enjoyed non-stop ocean sounds all week. We stocked up on groceries at the KTA store at Keahou shopping Center and stocked up on papayas and bananas at farmers markets, And enjoyed eating on the beautiful, private little veranda. Almost every day we went snorkeling at nearby Kahului Beach Park - fantastic snorkeling, and great for beginners or people who swim well and can go out further toward the reef. Saw incredible varieties of fish and turtles. Holly was totally accessible and helpful. Hard to think of anything that wasn't here. Great spot for experiencing Kona Kailua.
The pictures are a perfect representation. We loved this condo and the location.
This condo was perfect. We will definitely stay here again in the future when we visit. The amenities were so much more than expected. All you could possibly want and need, and than some. All the comforts of home in wonderful setting. We loved watching the sunsets nightly from the lanai.
Thanks Holly for the gift of coffee. It was much needed after our late arrival for our first morning together.
This place was well appointed with everything you need. It is an end unit which made it very easy to access from the garage below. Holly - property rental agent - was prompt with all comms and super easy to work with. The pictures are accurate - love having a kitchin to cook for ourselves.
Awesome snorkeling beach just two miles from the resort! Great tide pools right in front of the resort. . . you can see giant sea turtles right from your lanai!
