Buyer Beware

What an absolute disappointment. I don't even know where to start. This was an absolute nightmare and sadly, just got worse and worse. The saddest part was the owners flippant and condescending attitude. Basically treating us as a horrible inconvenience to her. I would avoid this place like the plague. To summarize;

I was traveling with my husband and elderly 86 year old mother and to just get up and move wasn’t a viable option. I just kept hoping it would get better but it only got worse.

I’m very disappointed as this cast a shadow on what should have been a celebratory time of my daughters college graduation. These are some items (I can provide photos if you like) that are just not acceptable;

No heat upon arrival (We waited 3 hours for you to get back to us)

Bathroom sink clogged upon arrival

Garbage and cigarette buts scattered in front of door upon arrival

Interrupted toilet use for 3 of our 4 days

Raw sewage coming up shower drain

Raw sewage coming into living room

Raw sewage soaking my camera bag

Both toilet and kitchen sink gurgling and emitting a foul sewage smell

Peeling paint in multiple places on dining room window, peels 6 inches long in places

Mildew on bottom of window opening

Burnt out lightbulbs

Broken wall clock

Food residue on utensils

Filthy, stained baking pan

Lack of silverware, for instance only 3 knives

Dirty kitchen towels

Kitchen drawers a mess

Garbage can with awful, sticky residue on bottom, not clean at all

Construction debris (pile of sawdust) not cleaned up in parking lot in front of door

Overflowing garbage cans outside the entire time we were there

Overturned chairs at eating area in front of building the entire stay

Debris thrown on railing and piled up at end of sidewalk

Basically the majority of these things simply say ........ we don’t care about you or your stay. If they did, they would have checked the unit over and rectified them. Owners office is right next store. Sadly, they did not.

My husband and I are property managers and we would never allow guests to enter a unit in the condition we found ours.

I also vehemently reject owners text to me questioning me about my mother possibly flushing body wipes down the toilet and then suggesting I tell her not to do that. That was horribly insulting and degrading. We are customers and guests and should be treated as such.

All in all a horrible stay and absolutely dreadful experience

House was in a great location could’ve used a few more kitchen amenities

We had a great time walking distance to everything downtown our son lives just outside of San Marcos. We were trying to put together a full Thanksgiving dinner because my sons girlfriend was in the hospital but they were lacking kitchen amenities utensils. Great Location

This is my second time staying here with my friends and it never disappoints. The location is better than any hotel in town. We love being able to walk to all the restaurants and bars we want to go to. We will definitely stay here again.

GREAT location; outstanding property!

This is my "go-to" spot for retreats up in San Marcos-

The location is the best; I walk to just about every place I need to go (including HEB; just a few blocks away). I am minutes from the San Marcos river as well as the campus (TX State); and there are multiplt GREAT little coffee shops in the vicinity-

I have stayed a this property multiple times and will countinue to do so; When I stay I feel connected to the vibrant life of the campus/goings/on/etc. The San Marcos square is only about 1.5 blocks away; lots of neat shops & resturants to explore-

I love this spot; Looking forward to my next retreat to San Marcos!!!

San Marcos is a wonderful place to live and visit. Whether you are coming for a extended business travel, a visiting professor, a special event, tubing the rivers, or shopping at the outlet mall, this is a perfect choice for extended stay.

This is a 5000 sf building constructed in 1967 and historically occupied with 3 two bedroom apartments upstairs and commercial space downstairs. I purchased the property in 2012, remodeling the upstairs and dividing the downstairs into three units, one of which is my office, as part of a complete renovation. It is less than a city block to the river and the outdoor stage where Sights and Sounds is held each year. There is only one block between the apartment and the university campus. It is an easy stroll to Strahan Coliseum, the Performing Arts Theater, downtown square, grocery, and some of the best restaurants San Marcos has to offer.

What makes this apartment unique

This apartment is tastefully furnished with a German Castle motif. It is an elegant alternative for a professional visiting the area on an extended stay.

I travel about 20 weekends a year, stay at many resorts and never have I been struck the way I was.

The place is beautiful inside, totally breathe taken when I first walked in. The location is great, walking distance from the river, parks, restaurants and shops. The 2 bedrooms are clean and private. The kitchen and dining area has room for all of us to hang out without having to climb around each other; space is not an issue. I will refer my family, friend and clients to check it out.

This is the middle unit downstairs next to the office. The gorgeous granite counters are black and the bar is Texas State red. The vessel sink in the bathroom is a sparkling green and gold on black granite. Beautiful tiled floors throughout! It is tastefully furnished with relaxed lodge style furnishings, leather sofa, as well as, leather dining chairs. The smallest detail has been considered.
