I like to receive abroad people and the feel 'at home' in my apartment.
madame Garcès purchased this apartment in 2002
The apartment is uniquely situated in a calm, safe and charming street. The view over Paris from many windows is unique.
Cindy, a friend of a friend here in Seattle, stayed in Rebecca’s Paris apartment last year and recommended it. I was happy to find it as described in the listing and I spent the week of December this year treating it as my home away from home. The apartment was clean and well stocked with everything I needed while I was there. The neighborhood is full of convenient stores. I highly recommend it. I hope to be there again next year, time permitting.
My husband, daughters and I stayed in this lovely apartment whilst visiting Paris for the first time. Our eldest daughter needed to find out more about the Parisian artists as part of a school project. I don't think we could have picked a better location. The road is quiet and children friendly, but only a walk away from the lovely squares, restaurants and sights. a couple of minutes walk away is the metro station, with a quick service into the centre of Paris. Opposite the apartment is a lovely pocket park with locals playing baules and one lady exercising her hamsters (yes really!). Our youngest enjoyed playing here in the evenings whilst we enjoyed a glass of wine. Another nice thing we did was sit on the steps of the Sacre Coeur after dark and enjoy looking over Paris with street entertainers and musicians nearby.
We walked from Gare de Nord station - only 25 minutes walk (though some uphill!) Mme Garces met us at the apartment and couldn't be more friendly and helpful. The apartment has a lot of the owners things around making it feel very homely. The kitchen, though small has everything you need apart from an oven - no problem though as who wants to make a roast while away!
The girls bedroom was part of the living/dining area. This is good because during the day, with the curtain pulled back, the living area is large and full of light, and in the evening my husband and I could still use the remaining area. This arrangement is great for families but perhaps not for two couples sharing the apartment.
I have already recommended the apartment to friends, and we hope to stay again soon.
I am writing this review very late in the day, however please do not interpret this as being any less meaningful – life just gets too busy sometimes!
In August, my family of four – my husband and two daughters aged 11 and 9 - had the opportunity to stay five days in this lovely apartment. And it was a perfect! The apartment provided ample space for us after a full day of sightseeing in Paris. It was very comfortable and accommodated all of our needs. There is nothing formal about the apartment - the ambiance is very welcoming and I felt as though I was visiting a good friend in France. The location we found … was excellent. We loved the fact that we could stroll through Monmarte and visit Sacre Coure in the evenings at our leisure – it was very beautiful and lively at that time of day and provided an incredible view of the city. It was easy to access public transport from here and was fun for our daughters navigating the subway system through Paris.
Our host was extremely hospitable and responsive. I would most definitely recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Paris and we are very hopeful to return again in the future.
We stayed here as a family of four in September 2014. It was our favourite accommodation in our Europe trip. The location is unbelievable- just off the tourist trail in Montmartre in the quiet village part. Every morning I'd walk up to look at Sacre Couer, buy some croissants and savour the view of Paris. And the apartment has a lot of character and really felt like a home during our stay. Much nicer than more sterile serviced apartments. There is also a metro only 5 mins away so very easy to get around.
We had an absolute lovely time in this pretty appartement with our 8 year old daughter! It's located in a beautifull street in the heart of the Montmarte near the Sacre coeur and all other Montmarte hotspots, but outside of the touristic hustle and bustle of the city. The street is really quit and charming. The appartement is clean and well equiped. The beds are comfortable. It's also near the metro and other public transportation, so that you can travel easy to all important places in Paris. Mme Garces is a great house owner and made us feel welcome right ayway. We'll definetely stay here again next time we visit Paris!
We loved staying here during our trip to Paris. Located in the Montmartre area, it is close to the touristy areas but far enough away to be quiet and relaxing, with a small park across the street too. Also not too far away from the Lamark (and Abbesses) metro station, but be prepared for stairways and hills each day as you go out to explore, or as you drag suitcases along with you. The owner was quite helpful with information about the neighbourhood, although her map drawing skills could be improved :-) All in all, a great place to be when in Paris.
Highly recommended! This is a beautiful apartment in a lovely and very quiet area of Montmarte near metro and Sacre Coeur. How said reviewer Shirley K.:The apartment is informal and has the personal possessions of the owner, so very much like staying in a friends house. Realy it is true and very pleasant. If we can make it back to Paris, we hope this will be our home away from home once again. The owners were pleasant and friendly. Great location (close to metro, good cafes, boulangerie, fromagerie etc.) Lovely local shops for all our needs and charming bistros within easy walking distance. Many places of interest around. For example Maison de Tristan Tzara around the corner on Avenue Junot . This house was built in 1926 by Austrian architect Adolf Loos for the poet & writer Tristan Tzara – founding father of Dadaism – and his wife, the painter, Knitson...
This area is very quite, nice and safety. It is for this reason we call it ' le village'. it is like a country corner in the heart of Paris!
Museum of Montmartre, Sacré-coeur, place du Tertre, moulin de la galette, pubs, cafés…
