About Elizabeth Grob

Having grown up in the South, I find Stowe such a beautiful area, surrounded by mountains that offer a variety of outdoor activities anytime of the year. Love the cool temps and beautiful Vermont views. I am never bored in Stowe; so much to see and do.

Why Elizabeth Grob chose Vermont

It is in a great location with a beautiful maple tree off the deck and nice mountain view; a great place to get away and relax. Stowe is a small Vermont village, yet has so many great restaurants, and a variety of outdoor activities. The condo is a quiet end unit. with large windows. that look out to the woods. The resort is just off the main

Mountain Rd; quiet and away from all the traffic, yet easily accessible to the village and the mountain. My favorite spot is the deck. Being on a hill, the condo is down 2 flights of stairs, no elevator. When there is no snow, it can be accessed by walking up the grassy hillside below the condo.

What makes this condo unique

The resort is centrally located between the Mountain (skiing, hiking, mountain biking) and the center of the village. Nearby hiking to beautiful waterfalls, bike path that provides an easy ride to town, and great restaurants, shops, galleries nearby. A great place for a relaxing get away. Three neaby golf courses, horseback riding, canoeing/kayating. So much to do in the summer and fall. Downhill skiing at Stowe Mountain is the big draw in the winter. Trapp Family Lodge (10 minutes away) has great cross country skiing and snow shoeing.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Great time, cozy place. Perfect for small group looking to hit the slopes all day; super close to mountain. Bed was comfortable, kitchen perfect size. Living room is nice with awesome fireplace.

nice small condo for ski vacation

  • 4 of 5

We liked the small condo. It is conveniently located between the resort and the center of Stowe. the condo is well furnished and we had a few homemade dinners just like at home, which was nice. There is a supermarket in town and a couple of decent restaurants very close by. Wireless and Internet connections were extremely slow, which is why we put 4 stars instead of 5. Great place to stay overall.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your review. I have discussed the slow internet connection you experienced with the resort manager and am advised they are in the process of having the internet system reconfigured which should remedy the problem, even during the times of high occupancy.

Excellent Stay!

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 4 (2 couples) had a lovely 2 night stay on President's day weekend. Everything was great from the ease of booking to the picking up the keys to condo late at night (we arrived at 1 am!). The shower is excellent with great water pressure. Good DVD selection. We enjoyed the heated pool and hottub that was a short walk from the condo. One complaint is that toaster seemed to be broken. Otherwise, we couldn't have asked for a better stay! Also worth noting the Great location -- only a short drive from the Stowe mountain skiign and short drive to Ben and Jerry's factory. Thanks for everything!

Perfect Vacation Spot

  • 5 of 5

Perfect place to decide if you want peace and quiet at the condo listening to the birds sing, or head off to the close by action spots for shopping, dining, skiing, hiking, biking, etc.

We spent an amazing week at the beautifully decorated and well equipped condo. We walked several mornings on the nearby recreation path and enjoyed the Balloon Fest across the road at the Stoweflake Resort. Found several great restaurants, but also enjoyed casual meals on the lovely deck.

We recommend the condo for any time of the year.

Somehow we missed in the review that this was the bottom unit in the building (the 2 flights of stairs mentioned take you down to floor 1 of 4 floors), or I might not have rented it -- the people above us were VERY noisy and running and thumping overhead throughout our stay. The stove and cookware could use an update -- the burners are spotty in their performance and the teflon pans are scratched and flaking. And the mountain wasn't as viewable from the porch as I'd expected from the description. But everything else is exactly as described -- cozy, comfortable, no hidden fees, owner & resort-office easy to work with. I'd likely give other condos consideration if we return to Stowe again.

Owner's Response: I am sorry your stay at my condo was not as pleasant as you had hoped. I appreciate your comments so that I can make improvements to ensure future guests are very satisfied. I have notified the resort; they will replace the teflon pans and check the burners on the stove. Just prior to your arrival the condo was "deep cleaned" by the resort and the burners may have loosened in the process. I have prioritized my update list to include a new flat surface stove; the resort is also looking into that for me. While I have no control of other guests, I do know that the staff is very attentive to guests' needs. I have checked with the resort's guest relations manager and am advised that, if notified, they would have requested the occupants above to be more considerate of those below. They would also have sent maintenance to check the stove. Guest can also call me directly and I will contact the resort. The building sits on a mountainside with the main parking area being two levels above the condo. In my email response to each inquiry, I specifically state, "the condo is down 2 flights of stairs, no elevator." The condo can also be accessed from a parking area below, by walking up a grassy hillside without having to encounter any stairs. The pines have obscured the mountain view in the last several years and I have changed the verbal description to reflect that. The picture of the view from the deck, was taken in the last 12 months, and gives one a more realistic idea of the view. The good news is, in order to protect their property from damage, the neighbors plan to remove the pine trees this fall, and the mountains will be very visible above the hardwoods. Thank you again for the rental and your comments.

Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at this very cozy, well equipped condo. The condo was spotless and had everything a renter would need. We were lucky with the weather so we were able to hike and drive around to look at the foliage, but we still found time to use the pool and the hot tub. Being able to play the movies available at the condo and borrow others from the front dest made the evenings entertaining. Hope we can find time to go back again. As one renter said the stairs are a bit much but we are in our seventies and we were able to handle them ok. We looked at it as a good workout!

Early July Stay

  • 5 of 5

The condo is really lovely - obviously recently renovated, and very comfortable for two. Wonderful large deck with great new porch furniture for lounging. We were in Stowe during the Balloon Festival, and could see them from the deck once they were up in the sky!

Great location - only a few minutes from the Toll Road and the rest of town. Across the street and behind the Stowe Motel gets you onto the middle of the rec path. Yes, there are lots of stairs, but it's good exercise ;)

Thanks for a wonderful stay!
