About Erica K.

An entrepreneur by nature, I have enjoyed the freedom and flexibility that a self directed path can provide. I have loved to travel and annually embark upon both a beach vacation and an exotic destination in a far away continent - you will find exotic mementos from my travels adorn Villa BlancaMariposa and inspire the eclectic sampling of the world within. Growing up in Tucson in this very property, I wanted to name my special bungalow to honor my connection to my mother, my family and the heritage of the house, hence the name Villa Blanca which means white house - where my friends said I lived as a kid. While home in Tucson, I love to landscape, You will see me working on my properties tending to the mesquite trees, Peruvian apple cactus a native willow or assisting guests at Villa Blanca and other homes. I have always enjoyed cooking - entertaining friends and family and hosting many social events, and look forward to hosting you during your stay in Tucson!

Erica K. purchased this bungalow in 2010

Why Erica K. chose Tucson

My parents were renting the carriage house house in the 1960's while attending the University of Arizona. Reading an ad in the paper the original owners of Villa Blanca - had listed it for sale - it turned out to be my parents landlords - who enjoyed the young couple so - and sold it to my parents over another buyer. With the assistance of my Grandmother for a down payment, My mother and father moved to the front house and raised us girls - in 2010 Villa Blanca passed through the generations from my grandmother, mother and sister to my self - for me to share with you as Villa Blanca.

What makes this bungalow unique

I love Villa Blanca with all of my heart - it is a beautiful home full of warmth and truly does hold every memory in life - Christmas trees, Easter bunnies, Thanksgiving Dinners, watching sesame street while laying on the living room floor, cartwheels in the front yard - giggling with friends - walking to school - having breakfast at Rincon market, bicycling to the UofA. Now it's your turn to make some memories and experience the warmth and love of a family home known as Villa Blanca.

Villa Blanca Mariposa transcends all expectations!!

This bungalow is absolutely perfect! it has historic character, the warmth of a home, a blend of contemporary and eclectic and southwestern decor, all done very tastefully. The towels are thick, the sheets are smooth, the pillows are lofty, the cupboards are full of supplies. I was very happy to have a garage for my car, to keep it out of the Tucson sun. The laundry room was an unexpected bonus. The location is superb. Erica's suggestions were abundant and detailed. I walked the lovely neighborhood streets every morning. I loved seeing the cactus gardens and architecture of the Sam Hughes district. I will return. Thank you, Erica!

My wife and I stayed for a week. Wish it could have been longer. The house is so homey and comfortable and centrally located. Convenient parking is behind the house separated from the house by a private backyard courtyard. The backyard was very peaceful and enjoyable. Erica took good care of us even though we never met. We were greeted with a handwritten note and goodies including wine and chocolate. She was never more than an email or text away when we had a couple of questions. The house is on a major street (6th Street) but you'd never know it once inside where it is quiet and peaceful. The house is an oasis in the city and I highly recommend it.

Relaxing weekend

  • 5 of 5

I was in Tucson for a family wedding and the house fit all of my needs for the weekend. The home embodies everything that Tucson reminds me off (grew up in tucson) The home was comfortable and absolutely adorable. Took my dog for a walk around the neighborhood which is just full of character with all the different styled beautiful homes. It's quiet and a historic part of town with plenty of restaurants and hangouts a short walk away. Do keep in mind the front of the house does face a major street and the front yard is shared with the home next door but overall peaceful and private.

This sweet little bungalow exceeded our expectations! It is so charming and has everything you could possibly need on a vacation. The decor is lovely, the sheets and bedding are comfortable! The outside seating areas were the best for having morning coffee. There is even covered parking which is pretty important when that AZ sun is beating down on your car. We were there for our daughters college graduation and it was just 2 blocks from the stadium so we walked and missed all that traffic. The location is great. Close to Tucson Tamale and Cashew Cow! Two of my favorite places! Most definitely recommend this little gem!

Exceeded our expectations

  • 5 of 5

The property was wonderful and enhanced our stay in Tucson. It was quaint and clean and the amenities made our week easy. It was decorated nicely with comfort in mind. The beds and pillows were super comfy. The kitchen was equipped with everything you could possible need and neatly organized. The bathroom was clean with plenty of towels, hair dryer and basic bath amenities. The home was located close to multiple freeways making it easy to see the sights. It was also located close to grocery stores if you needed items. We enjoyed the semi-private, fenced in back yard with patio table and chairs. Perfect for morning coffee, late afternoon cocktails, and our small dogs. In summary we had a great experience and would recommend it to others. The only tricky part was the second bedroom has a trundle that makes exiting the home through the back door tricky, but seriously a very small issue. If we are ever back in Tucson, I would stay here again.

The place was beautiful, inviting and immaculate!

  • 5 of 5

Villa Blanca Mariposa was such a beautiful historic home with all the modern amenities you expect. Staying in the home took us back to old Tucson. The house was well decorated and immaculate but kept the charm of the 1920s. Erika was so welcoming and added so many personal touches that I felt like I had the service of a fine hotel. I will definitely be staying here again!
