Kuhio Shores Oceanfront Condo - 1BR, Top Floor, Oceanside

It's very peaceful here. When you listen to the sound of the ocean waves, and gaze at the endless horizon, you'll feel like you are a million miles away from all of your cares and concerns. There is nothing like being lulled to sleep by the sound of the surf. Come and experience the tranquility of this beautiful location.

The Kuhio Shores Condominium development, a four floor, 75 unit complex with a sandy beach on each side, is located on Lawai Road, which ends nearby at the Spouting Horn. It is adjacent (we are talking FEET here) to Lawai Beach, the best snorkeling beach on the island, and The Beach House, the best restaurant. Lawai Road is very quiet, and yet it is only minutes to Poipu Village Shopping, the Sheraton and Hyatt resorts and spas, Poipu Beach and other wonderful beaches, a half dozen other fine restaurants, and the world famous Poipu Bay Golf Course, previous home of the PGA 'Grand Slam of Golf' Tournament. Old Koloa Town, the oldest plantation town in Hawaii, is less than ten minutes away.

We first saw this condo during a business/vacation trip in July of 2003. We looked at a number of condos, including another one in Kuhio Shores, and this one was head and shoulders above the rest. The designer interior was great... but the real selling point was the location and the view... as soon as you walk in the door, you'll say 'Wow.'

We knew immediately that no guest would ever be disappointed with it, that we would always be proud to own it. We also suspected that we would get a lot of repeat guests, and referrals from our guests, so that the occupancy rate would be high. Still, we weren't sure it would be a good investment, but because of our sentimental attachment to Kauai (we were married on the island in 1996, and have been in love with it ever since), we decided to go ahead, and we closed on the property in October 2003. We only get to spend a week or two visiting every year, but we just love it, and we're sure you will too!

Take a look at our website to see lots of photos of the condo, beautiful photos of Kauai, a complete list of amenities, interesting links, and more!!!

Mahalo for your interest!!!

Guestbook comments from the owner

In response to our guest questionnaire, Denise writes:

"My husband and I had a wonderful time and absolutely loved the location of Kuhio Shores. We particularly liked being able to snorkel on both sides and in front of the condo, watching sunrises and sunsets from the lanai, watching the green turtles from the lanai, and having dinners at the Beach House Restaurant. A plus for your condo was that it was very quiet. Also, it is on the top floor and is one of the condos that juts further out towards the water than some other units, enhancing the stunning ocean views."

Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spend a week at the Kuhio shores condo it was just wonderful, the condo was so lovely well maintained with everything a visitor would need and the views incredible. I am so glad to say after our 4th visit to Kauai we have finally found a place we would rebook without any concern, I think if you are considering a condo for the Poipu area and want to be on the ocean with great views, in a comfortable home then this is the place no need to look further. Just book and go and enjoy you won't be disappointed. We didn't get to see the sun set but the moon over the ocean at night was just incredible, we would sit outside just looking up to the night sky, peaceful and romantic for sure.. This is a great place for home away from home for your vacation without any doubt.

April 22-29, 2008 - Kudio Shores #412 did it again!!! Another perfect vacation at the very best condo on Kauai. How could one get any nearer to paradise than to hear the surf, watch the surfers, feel the trade winds and enjoy privacy and solitude beyond words? How could one find the convenience of being so close to all the conveniences and the short driving distance to just about any place on the island? How could one just look to the West, East and South and see blue green water, white caps, sea turtles and amazing rock structures? This was my second stay in #412 and my husband’s first and it was just as amazing as the first time. With its hospitable atmosphere, soothing colors, incredible bed, outsized closets, a massive shower and above all the peaceful surroundings not to mention the extra amenities to make our stay even more perfect. Although we feel this is our last visit to Hawaii, we could not have chosen a better place to stay, superb owners to deal with and the GIR Rental Services that went way and beyond what was required. Mahalo to Ken and Sue for letting us abide in their lovely home and Mahalo to Denise and her crew for their thoughtfulness. Maxine and Don, Phoenix, Or

Use these special words to describe "wonderful", "peaceful", "delightful", "satisfying", "fabulous" and absolutely "perfect" then you would be describing this condo at Kuhio Shores Condos. My daughter planned a Mother/Daughter trip in April, 2006 so the two of us could experience a time together we would never forget and she not only picked out the very best condo on the island but also many other activities and events. Needless to say, it was something I never expected to happen with its fully equipped accommodations, scenery, amenities, and cleanliness. The daily choices are endless with your ability to cook or not cook – the choice to do something or not do anything. The surf is four floors down, lapping at the rocks and echoing in the room with a gentle beckoning call - calling to relax, calling to enjoy, and totally calling to experience Kauai as it should be experienced. The owners have taken great pride in this unit and there is no disappointment with regards to its beauty and being on the top floor gives you a panoramic view that you could never anticipate. Not only was our stay perfect but now my husband and I are going back in April, 2008, as I want him to know what I have been telling him and to totally encompass him in the Hawaiian feeling. Thank you for making our vacation perfect.Maxine

If you decide to book this condo for your Kauai vacation, you won't be disappointed. Everything about this condo was incredible. The views are outstanding. We loved spending time on the lanai watching the whales, dolphins and turtles. We watched the sunrise every morning and the sunset every evening. As we were on the top floor, we had a great view of the ocean and the whales, turtles and dolphins.

The beach in front of the Beach House restaurant is a two minute walk away and has excellent snorkelling. The bay to the other side boasts having one of the best places to snorkel with the turtles.

The condo itself was very spacious and had everything we needed. From the boogie boards and beach gear, fully equipped kitchen and even shampoo and conditioner in the double shower.

In addition to all of the above, we didn't hear a single rooster crow! Instead we were lulled to sleep by the wonderful sounds of the ocean.

When we return to Kauai, we will be planning our trip around the availablity of Kuhio Shores 412!

The owners and rental agency are wonderful to deal with, too!

Kuhio Shores is a fantastic place to stay and #412 is a wonderful condo in this building. It's true, you won't get closer to the ocean so if you love the sound of the surf and love seeing the beautiful blue ocean from your condo, stay here. #412 has all the amenities you will need and the owners have made sure that you will be very comfortable. There is nothing negative about this condo at all, and the rates are extremely reasonable especially considering it's absolutely oceanfront property.
