' Sunset Point ', is a stately private home situated at the very end of a point overlooking a beautiful protected lagoon. Sombrero Country Club and golf course are directly across the water nestled behind a shoreline of lush mangroves, providing a natural landscape. The sunsets across the bay from the porch and pool area are spectacular.

Built in the temple style of architecture, the ground level single story structure is at once spacious and luxurious.Massive bronze front doors open into an impressive great room to include a dining area and sunken living room with gas fireplace. The vaulted ceiling is constructed of fine Honduran mahogony. Standing just inside the entrance, one can see through the opposing wall of glass to the huge indoor pool and the bay and shoreline beyond.

The dinning room will seat ten to twelve guests comfortably, and the adjacent living room\ tv area will accomodate an additional ten to twelve.

The large, completely renovated kitchen\ family room has granite counter tops and all stainless steel premium appliances. This kitchen is fully equiped with the best of knives, utensils, cookware,a commercial blender,and numerous other electronic conveniences. Doors open from the family room onto the outdoor porch as well as to the indoor pool . The porch is home to a gas barbeque and a stunning set of Lloyd Flanders all weather wicker furniture and cushions . The adjoining indoor pool is surrounded by a wide tile patio and seating area, and further enhanced by a border of tropical planting. The vaulted Honduran mahogony ceiling completes the picture.

The five bedrooms and three full bathrooms have just been completely redecorated using only the finest of beds, mattresses, and bathroom fixtures. The master bath has a walk in shower and large tub with a walk- in [ handicap ] door. All bedrooms have new flat screen TVs.

More than an acre of landscaped grounds surround the residence; the lawns are a lush green and meticulously maintained. Over 600' of seawall encompass the property, and a high stucco wall and iron entrance gate keep the property secure and private. There is ample secure parking behind the gates for personal vehicles. ALL boats, trailers, RVs, etc., are to be stored on our lots at the end of Avenue D on Cocoa Plum which is only four miles from the house. We recommend trailer locks when stored there. An ideal vacation retreat, 'Sunset Point ' offers ample space for a family reunion or special function.

Our family has vacationed in Marathon for many years and when the opportunity arose to purchase this house which we had always admired, we took it. The area is reminiscent of the islands with a relaxed, informal lifestyle. There is plenty to do in and around Marathon, the fishing is fantastic, and the kids love it.

What makes this estate unique

' Sunset Point ' is a private little kingdom secluded behind it's walled entrance.The Sombrero Beach location is certainly the best in Marathon for a variety of reasons. First, the fantastic Sombrero Beach itself with its bathrooms, showers,and two volley ball courts, is only one mile away. Secondly,it is centrally located; only a short distance to supermarkets,restaurants, and shopping. Additionally, Sombrero Beach is one of the finest neighborhoods in Marathon.

Relaxing waterfront - clean and comfortable

A perfect home for our group: five adults and four teens. The teens wanted to share a bedroom and the bunk beds were perfect. The two living rooms allowed everyone to spread out to talk or read while others watched TV; yet all nine fit in the living room comfortably together. Plenty of outdoor seating, although most of us preferred to sit on the wall near the water. Outdoor grilling was our preferred cooking method. The indoor pool was wonderful. Bathrooms are updated and clean. Enjoyed the walk-in rain shower. The "teen" bathroom was perfect -- double sinks in one area and a pocket door to separate the toilet/shower area -- allowed the teens to get ready together. The extra refrigerator in the garage came in handy. Nice washer/dryers. The house is in a great location - close to Turtle Hospital, Dolphin Research Center, Boondocks, Sombrero Beach, Bahia Honda Beach and approx. 1 hour from Key West. The neighborhood is nice for a jog and long walks. We had one glitch upon arrival which Jackie quickly took care of; also the sliding glass doors to get in to and out of the house were a bit challenging (humidity?) but that didn't stop us! Thanks Tudor and Jim, you were fantastic to work with. We appreciate your quick response to our inquiries/emails. The views are breathtaking; the sunsets across the water were wonderful; and the house is beautiful. Highly recommend this oasis; close to everything yet away from it all!

Lovely Home - Beautiful Setting - Jackie was great

My siblings and I rented this lovely home as a reunion destination to scatter my Mother's ashes. We grew up in Miami and always vacationed in Marathon back in the 60's and found the Keys a great deal different today! However, we thoroughly enjoyed the location of the home...very close to a very nice beach and great area to take long walks. Jackie was a great resource for restaurants, etc. and lovely to work with. She went out of her way to take care of us and made us feel comfortable and ensured that we had everything that we needed. Also, working with Tudor was a pleasure! She was easy to work with and I also felt certain that we would be taken care when we arrived. We even neglected to return the keys to Jackie as we were in a rush, everyone leaving at different times to different destinations. Jackie was very understanding! You will not go wrong by renting this home. Thanks to all for making our time memorable.

Best Vacation Home & Place to Stay in The Keys!

This is our 4th family/friends vacation in The Keys, and this home has been voted our favorite!! We spent last week with 8 adults & 2 pups celebrating my husband & kids father's 60th Birthday...and we are now Blessed with wonderful Memories!! The home was big enough to accommodate all of us very comfortably and plenty of gathering space to eat, play games & the indoor pool was lots of fun! We also rented Jim's boat for the week, and I must say, it just added to even more fun with fishing, snorkeling & sunset cruising...a boat in the Keys is a must!! It was also great having the beach right around the corner from the home...we spent a couple days picnicking & playing beach games! Caretaker Jackie was a delight and was very attentive. The home had everything we could possibly have needed! Marathon is the place to stay & this home doesn't get any better...wonderful home & vacation!!

Best House Rental in the Keys!

From the moment we arrived up until the moment we left, Jackie, who looks after the house, was truly fantastic! The house was very clean and was fully stocked with towels, linens, kitchen items and more. Anything and everything we ever needed or had a question about, Jackie was available to assist with.

The property is enormous and has a ton of dockage for a boat. It also has a large two car garage that you can park your vehicles in, do your laundry, store items, and even use a spare fridge and freezer.

We had 9 people stay at this house and we had more than enough room for everyone. Each of the bedrooms were very comfortable and were themed perfectly for our "stay in paradise." The kitchen was perfect for all of our cooking needs and it opens directly into the family room area which made nights very enjoyable with the entire family around. The indoor pool was very convenient, especially on cloudy or rainy days. Also, we were able to use fishing poles that they keep on location to fish from the dock and cook our catch on the outdoor grill.

Overall, an unbelievable experience in paradise for our family and we most certainly recommend this rental home to anyone.

Thanks again to Jackie, Jim and Tudor for everything! Our experience at your rental home and the assistance of Jackie truly made our vacation a "vacation in paradise."

Awsome Property

Wow what a great home! I have stayed at many properties in Marathon (Palm Island, East Sister Rock) and this one is a gem. This home is an ideal spot for any Keys vacation, in our group, we had 8 adults, 3 children (9,10 and 12). The house is beautiful, very comfortable with a very well laid out kitchen area. Bedrooms are comfortable and the great room is impressive with mahogany woodwork and formal dining area. The kids loved the pool and the dad's loved the well maintained dock for the boat, with fresh water and a fish cleaning table. Fishing off the seawall was also a hit, the kids and Mom's & Dads caught snapper, grunt, jack and two nurse sharks. Jackie, the management agent was very nice, she was very helpful with answering any questions that we had. The sunsets were magnificent, better then Mallory Square.

I would definitely recommend this property, by far one of the best maintained homes and wonderful accommodations in Marathon.

Spectacular Vacation Home

This home was the ideal spot for our Keys vacation. In our group, we had 7 adults, 3 teens and a child. We docked two boats right behind the home so we could fish or snorkel on a moments notice. The indoor pool was a big hit. The perfect place to relax, away from the sun, day or night.... The home's layout worked out perfectly with our two families having ample privacy. We were greeted and cared for throughout by Jackie, the management agent. She was "Joanie on the spot" with anything we needed including recommendations. To top off our trip, we caught bunches of dolphin, snapper and tuna. This is the only house we will consider for next years trip........Thanks for sharing your home!!!

The indoor pool is equipped with a basketball hoop, which provides great exercise and almost limitless entertainment.

Sombrero Beach { within a mile from the house } is equipped with bathrooms, showers, as well as two volleyball courts. All these ammenities, as well as the beach itself, are meticulously maintained by the town of Marathon, and are a great meeting place for guests of all ages

$1000 deposit due at time of reservation and this becomes the security deposit. Payment may be made by personal check, bank check, or wire transfer. Full payment is due 90 days prior to your rental week. No refund after the 90 day period. Trip interruption insurance is very reasonable and recommended.
