Lovely little cottage. A little cold and rainy--but there's so much to do in the area, that wasn't a problem. Only thing I would add would be more hooks in the bathroom. Otherwise, a well stocked place. Cindy and Keith were great to work with.
Hi! It was lovely to have you as our guest and we're so glad you enjoyed the cabin!
We will add more hooks to the bathroom and hope to see you again soon!
All the best,
Keith & Cindy
Super cute charming cabin!
We enjoyed our stay. It had everything you could ask for. It was close to town which worked for us. We could walk to the local grocery store and flea market. The view of the lake was great too! Our girls enjoyed playing at the beach and fishing off the dock. Overall great place to spend some quality family time.
Thank you for the kind and thoughtful review! We loved hosting you and your family and hope to see you again soon!
All the best,
Cindy & Keith
As expected -- a rustic cabin in the Northwoods.
Those arranging the accommodations (Keith, Cindy & Randy) were great. Bedrooms were
"tight" for sleeping as one person had to crawl in from the bottom and ended up sleeping against the wall. Suggest rearranging bed and dresser (IF possible) or replacing with two
single beds. Somehow, we also missed any notification that linens were NOT provided; that
was a first in our experience. May need a larger cabin next time.
We're so glad to hear you had a pleasant time with us! We enjoyed having you stay! We're sorry you felt the bedrooms were a bit small, they are typical of 1930's cabins in the area. Also we apologize you weren't aware towels are not provided, that is also typical of resorts in the area and is clearly marked on the website description. We do provide all other linens besides bath towels. (Which are available for rent)
We hope to see you again next season, we have many larger cabins if you want something with a bit more room!
All the best,
Management personnel A +
Cabin is as described and is best suited for two people. More importantly, is the attention to your needs. The management went above & beyond our expectations, as Cindy made herself available all hours of the day to attend to our requests. We would highly recommend however, all rental information, application, & payment for your reservation to go directly through the management company ( Hampel Properties ) for Pinehurst Resort to ease the rental agreement. VRBO has made some changes this year to include your initial deposit followed by the balance to be paid in full 30 days prior to your arrival. Save yourself the 10% and pay by check upon arrival.
Hi - thank you for your review, we take these reviews seriously as they impact our business. In this instance, I don't believe the 3 star rating adequately reflects the quality of the cabin or service that we provide.
The cabin is approx. 600 sqft which is typical of cabins in this area and it is well suited for 4 guests, which is the maximum occupancy. It is also very well maintained and furnished to a high standard, particularly compared to other cabins.
We appreciate the kind words regarding our mgmt. team. However, again we don't feel your 3 star rating is reflective of the level of service we provide. We provide PREMIUM management services, which are 5 star.
It seems like this review was written to reflect disappointment with the VRBO experience, which is not within our control. For guests considering booking through VRBO, it's important to read the terms and conditions specific to VRBO, in addition to our rental agreement.
Guests are always welcome to book with us directly. We manage 17 cabins of a very high standard on Little St. Germain Lake.
We went up north for an early April get away. Weather is always hit or miss this time of year, but we had a great time. The cabin is very cosy and warm and was perfect for curling up on the sofa for movie night and games with the kids.
This cabin was almost perfect - wish there was a 4.5 star rating
Almost perfect. Here's why: the bedrooms are very tight...as in you can't walk around the bed (on the end) if the closet doors are open, and the beds are double-sized, which with two adults and 11 & 12 yr old kids is, well, interesting. The website says it sleeps 4, which it does, but wow - it was tight. The couch is comfy, but not enough space for all four people at one time, so movie-night when it rains isn't a comfortable option. The fire pit is a bit further than we'd expected; though it is listed as "shared" on the listing, we only used it once since it wasn't too convenient to carry all our wood and goodies back and forth with us. (This cabin is surrounded by actual home owners, so they won't let you have a fire pit right at your cabin in case it would get out of hand.)
Other than those few things, this cabin was clean, so very peaceful, stocked with the necessities, and sits on a gorgeous lake with a steady pier. Next time we visit, we will plan to book the home next to this one - 3 bedroom, and absolutely beautiful...more like an up-scale expanded pent-house hotel suite, actually. Cindy, the property manager, was absolutely amazing, and the owners were very quick to respond and very flexible to our needs.
All in all, a perfect getaway, just a but tight on space for a family of four.
We enjoyed hosting you and your family for the week and hope to see you next season!
We are sorry you felt a little cramped in Northern Comfort. We always make an effort to post as many detailed photos as possible of each of our properties to accurately reflect the space.
We have had many families of four stay in this cabin, and none of them have complained about the size of the cabin previously. From a price point perspective, this cabin is a similar size and price to many other cabins in the area but with better views and better decoration/furnishings. As you point out, the cabin next door, Ruffin It, is much nicer and larger, but it is listed at a much higher price point.
As a general rule, the feedback we get on this cabin is it's cozy, contemporary and good value for money.
Thanks again for your stay, we look forward to hopefully seeing you and your family again next year!
All the best,
