About laura thompson

I am a long time San Francisco resident and have lived in many neighborhoods this is by far the best - next to the waterfront, yet quiet and serene. I love this home in its uniquely beautiful location and hope you will treat it like your own home when you are here. I have traveled around the world and can help you find wonderful things to do and see in this city. You will enjoy it I know! The truly is one of the best cities in the world.

Why laura thompson chose Marina District

It is the best neighborhood and location in all of San Francisco - it has the best access to fun tourist things, fabulous restaurants (including 5 stars) and chic shops, wine tasting, yacht clubs, biking and romantic seaside walks - it has the best of everything. I have been around the world and came back here to stay.

What makes this condo unique

The waterfront is so close you will wander down to watch the beautiful sunsets over Golden Gate bridge and maybe see a seal or dolphin bobbing in the surf. Spectacular neighborhood and location especially with the yacht clubs and sailboats all around you.

Perfect location & perfect condo

  • 5 of 5

We normally book VRBOs for our travels and researched San Francisco properties for our visit with our son over Thanksgiving. This unit is ideal and we highly recommend it - it's clean, beautifully appointed, ideally located in the marina area, and the owner is very responsible, professional, and friendly. If you're visiting San Francisco, you will be most pleased if you're able to secure this property!

(P.S. The king bed in the master is incredibly comfortable - my husband and I remarked on how well we slept several times during our stay.)

interior design, and fabulous terrace overlooking the garden with gorgeous, fragrant, flowering plants. Excellent location across from the Bay Trail and across from Fort Mason which is a short and enjoyable walk to Fisherman's Wharf. The neighborhood is very quiet and feels like home right away. Neighboring, trendy, Cow Hollow is only a few minutes away with fabulous restaurants and shops.

Beautiful, comfortable condo in excellent location

  • 5 of 5

Look no further!!! I labored over where to stay for 8-nights in San Francisco while recovering from elective surgery. I spent hours on Trip Advisor and several other websites reviewing properties. Ultimately, I decided the reviews of this property were all excellent, the location was ideal (2-blocks to the Marina with a lovely park, Fort Mason, running and biking trails, beautiful views; 6-blocks to 'tons' of adorable shops and good restaurants on Chestnut Street near Fillmore, 1 1/2 blocks to Safeway, and only 1-mile to the Embarcadero and Ghirardelli Square....anywhere you don't want to walk, say Union Square which is 2-miles away, you can Uber for about $5!), and the photos on-line were adorable, so I took a leap of faith! From the minute I spoke with the owner, Laura, I knew I made the right decision. She could not have been more helpful or accommodating. The apartment is exactly as described; VERY comfortable California king bed in a huge master suite with attached bathroom (2-sinks, tub and separate shower), modern kitchen, lovely living/dining areas, 1/2 bath off hallway. There is a charming backyard, which I didn't use, but enjoyed viewing from the master bedroom balcony (large enough for table/chairs). I will never stay at a hotel in San Francisco again after staying here! I wish I could give the property and Laura 6-stars!!!!

Owner's Response: Thanks Elise. I am glad you like the location. I love being less than a one minute walk to our Marina and views of the GG bridge. This neighborhood is really special.

Perfect place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed this home so much. The location is perfect, you step out the front door and just down half a block you have Fort Mason with a great walking/running paths and beautiful views of the Golden Gate Bridge. You are a close walk to many attractions that you will want to visit. Great restaurants and shops on Chestnut Street. The Safeway grocery store is just a block away. Very quiet street and enjoyed all the house had to offer. We had plenty of space and appreciated having a full kitchen, dining room and living room space. The Master bedroom is huge and the bathroom is very nice. We enjoyed the balcony off of the Master bedroom. We took an Uber a few times and was a very efficient way to get around the city. Laura was wonderful to work with and answered all of our questions before our stay and had great suggestions on what to do while on vacation. We would love to stay here again.
