About Greg Hays

I grew up in Knoxville and spent many enjoyable weekends in Gatlinburg. After moving away with my job, I returned to Gatlinburg for vacations, reunions, wedding anniversaries, and special occasions. There is nothing as relaxing as the Smokies. My family enjoys hiking, arts & crafts, sightseeing, museums, biking in Cades Cove, playing miniature golf in Gatlinburg, shopping in Pigeon Forge, and just relaxing after a busy day in the hot tub or in front of the fireplace.

Greg Hays purchased this cabin in 2004

Why Greg Hays chose Black Bear Falls

We decided to have our own cabin built in 2004 after we visited Black Bear Falls. This is a beautiful community with gorgeous landscaping, 5 ponds, and a clubhouse with swimming pool (including a kiddie pool). We always rented cabins in Gatlinburg instead of staying at hotels because it was so much more relaxing and gave you the option of cooking yourself, enjoying your own fireplace, hot tub, big screenTV, pool table, music, etc. We decided we would share our peaceful cabin with others so that they too, could experience the tranquility and pleasure of spending time in the Smokies with family and friends.

What makes this cabin unique

We enjoy the privacy and serenity of Cubs Crossing. We have swings on both ends of the lower deck with awesome views of Mt. LeConte. The lower and main level decks are accessed only from inside the cabin so privacy is guaranteed. The main level deck with patio table and chairs makes eating meals outside a perfect start or end to the day. The hot tub is also located on the main deck. Nothing soothes tired muscles better after a day of hiking than relaxing in the 6 person hot tub. The hot tub is drained, cleaned, and sanitized after every guest stay. The circular driveway can easily accommodate 3 cars. No need to ever back up and negotiate tricky parking spots. If someone in the group has trouble with steps, there are only 3 steps leading up to the front porch and with a master bedroom suite, kitchen, great room, and deck with hot tub, table and chairs on the main level, there is never a need to navigate the steps unless you want to use the entertaining lower level. We are the original owners of this cabin and work hard to make sure that the cabin is always spotless and well-maintained. We know you will enjoy Cubs Crossing as much as we do.

Great get-a-way

  • 5 of 5

My family of 6 enjoyed our stay at Cubs Crossing. It was close to the the touristy activities and just minutes away from the beautiful national park. The cabin was very clean and comfortable, with 3 large beds and 3 couches. The kitchen had all the necessities for us to prepare our meals. Our children especially enjoyed the pool table and checker board. Thanks for a relaxing get-a-way!

Great time at Cubs Crossing!

  • 5 of 5

The four of us adults had a great time at Cubs Crossing. Greg was very cooperative and responsive (both by phone and email), especially because we booked shortly before our arrival. Everything was first rate and "as advertised." When our plans changed, and we had a couple of extra days to spend in the area, Greg made it very simple to extend our stay (5 nights total!). We definitely will return to this cabin whenever we are in the Gatlinburg area; it was so conveniently located to all the sights we wanted to visit throughout the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The cabin is beautiful, well appointed, comfortable, and relaxing. The hot tub was perfect; and the kitchen was a delight to prepare meals in. Thanks, Greg, for making our visit so enjoyable! We'll be back for sure!!

Great escape

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay in your cabin. The accommodations were true to their description. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was fully stocked, the hot tub was glorious, and the game room was fun for all. This was our first experience at staying in a cabin vs a hotel and we will definitely stay in your cabin again. Communication with the owner was great. Greg responded promptly to email and text. Thanks again for opening your home to us!

Perfect for Our Family - Great Cabin & Location

  • 5 of 5

It had been a few years since we visited the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area so we were happy to be back. This cabin is everything described and pictured, plus! The three levels allowed our extended family privacy when needed. It didn't take long for the pool table to bring out competitive spirits. The kitchen was well stocked, as was the entire cabin - whatever we needed was there. The porches are large and comfortable, and as other reviewers have written, the area is spectacular. Bring your binoculars or you'll find yourself buying some while there, like I ended up doing. We wanted to stay in the cabin all the time, but that's not why we went to the Smokies. There is so much for the family to do, and it is all so close and convenient. We were wiped out at the end of every day so Cubs Crossing became our oasis every evening. A great way to unwind and enjoy nature.

The owner is very easy to communicate with and we experienced no problems.

(You can stay connected if you really have to - the WIFI was very handy.)

Cubs Crossing # 349836

  • 5 of 5

This was the best vacation experience ever! The Cubs Crossing cabin was way above expectations! Very reasonably priced. The view of the Smoky Mountains out of the window was breathtaking! The cabin was so fully equipped for our extended family of 8 people. The listing was well represented on the internet listing. Cabin was so clean! Very peaceful, well kept neighborhood. I would recommend the Cub's Crossing to anyone wanting to vacation in the Smoky Mountains! Excellent hiking opportunities! Great southern hospitality!

Awesome Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Cubs Crossing for spring break. The cabin was everything advertised and more. The cabin was spacious, clean and had everything needed to make it feel like a home. The Wi-Fi was excellent and allowed the kids to stay connect when we were at the cabin. The cabin is close enough to Gatlinburg that it’s easy to get to. I would highly recommend this cabin.
