Wide Design Apt – Wooden Beams – Heart of Saint Germain

Bedrooms 1
Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 4 nights

About the property

Apartment, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

This 50m² elegant apartment for 2 to 4 guests offers a rare combination of advantages:

• A perfect location: rue du Dragon, in the middle of the 6th arrondissement (metro saint Sulpice 1mn).

• 2 windows, tall and large bathe the wide living room in light

• An extendable table, installed since photos were taken, seats 4 to 6 guests.

• Wooden beams and floor in a 18th century building

• The bedroom is on the courtyard side thus very calm

• Designed furniture of quality brands

• There are 3 subway stations at walking distance.

The apt door is on 3rd floor (French Standard) after entering the 18th century building and having climbed the ancient stairs.

A short corridor leads to the spacious living area and open kitchen. Ceiling is very high. Two very tall windows bathe the room in light. The wooden floor and beams give a warm feeling. Armchairs and sofa of the Italian B&B brand give the lounge area a final elegant touch. An extendable table seats 4 to 6 guests for dinner. The living area also offers a comfortable convertible sofa bed for 2.

The bedroom offers a comfortable double bed. It is located on the back side of the building thus very calm. A window opens on the quiet private courtyard where palm trees have been planted. Doors lead to the bathroom and toilet room. The bathroom is decorated with white and blue tiles and has a window to receive sun light. It is equipped with a bath tub with shower.

It should be noted that bedroom and bathroom have been repainted recently.

The kitchen is open on the living room. Its very long bar makes it perfect for a group of friend to enjoy a glass of wine while chatting. It is fully equipped with oven, refrigerator, stoves and dish washer. The apparatus are of good quality.

As a bonus, Phone calls to land lines in France, and to US, Canada and Australia are generally free. It is also true for more than 50 countries. Moreover, calls to cell phones towards specific countries (often US & Canada) may also be free. Ask us for detail as it may vary with time and policies of operators.

This location is a perfect base to visit Paris. It stays 15 minute by subway to most interesting Paris locations AND is a very charming and restful area to be appreciated after a whole day shopping and walking through museums.

Neighborhood :

• The Saint Germain area is very lively and full of restaurants, cafés, cinemas and trendy shops. The art Galleries of Rue de Seine are very close. One reaches the Eglise Saint Sulpice, and Eglise de Saint Germain des Prés in 2 minutes. And there is even a supermarket to conveniently buy food, which is not always easy inside Paris.

• Last but not least, if you have kids, the Luxembourg garden is walking distance (3mn walk).

Prime Location, Prime Customer Care

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is located in one of Paris's prime locations--Saint Germain. It's easily accessible to all the primary must-see monuments and museums of Paris. The apartment is spacious, open and airy, which made for a pleasant stay. The customer service was incredible--from Karen to Magalie to Jean-Nicolas--each prompt and attentive to our questions and/or issues.

Like any apartment you stay in around the world, you will have to make it your own place by buying the necessities you need, but this apartment is stocked with spices/dishes/pots/pans. If you need additional towels, just ask. If you need help with check-in, then you pay an additional fee, but worth it, since the apartment is located on the 3rd Parisian floor (4th floor). Also important to note: I've been to Paris several times stayed in Le Marais, which is more locals versus St. Germain that tends to be more tourist, but magical still.

Thanks to team--Karen, Magalie and Jean Nicolas for making it a special trip to Paris.

The most what we like about arranging this apartment that we had a very clear and straight forward communications with you and your management. You and your team are doing A Great Job!.

Regarding actual Apartment: we liked very much its location, location, location: you are very close (within walking distance) to all major attractions Notre Dame cathedral, St. Chapel Church, Louvre, Orsey, Cluny museums..., Luxemburg garden and other landmarks such as Cafe de Flores and other good cafe and dining options, as well 4 different metro/subway station within 5 minutes walking.

Apartment itself is in a good condition, with great appliances and fully set-up kitchen, which will be a great option for a family with kids.

We did not have a time and did not use it a lot, for breakfast only. However, if you do not want to prepare your breakfast there are bakery just across the street, which you can see from you window. and it is opening at 7 a.m. . We used it to get a freshly baked goods and breads for our breakfast.

We would highly recommend this place to people wanting to rent apartment in Paris.

Well appointed apartment convenient to metro

  • 5 of 5

Thanks to the previous reviewers we knew exactly what to expect upon arrival. We received excellent instructions from the management company prior and upon arrival. The apartment was very clean, well appointed and quiet. No need to pack a hair dryer or umbrella but don't forget the toiletries. The kitchen was stocked well enough that we were able to make a simple dinner in the evening.

Several things we did different from others:

We opted to take the Metro from CDG since we had Navigo weekly passes which we used extensively during our stay. We left one member of our party inside the locked front door with our luggage (carry on) and walked to pick-up the apartment key. We were treated with a lovely view of the moonrise over St. Sulpice for our efforts. Using Google street view prior to the trip was key in navigating our way at night to the apartment. Look for the Monoprix (grocery store) on the way.

On the return trip to ORY, we opted for Uberx (35e set price, highly recommended) who waited for us to drop the key. At 5:30am, the driver showed up within minutes!

Several things that would have been nice:

A second set of keys

Written instructions in english for the microwave. We didn't try really hard to figure this out but it was less than intuitive.

A few hooks for towels in the bathroom.

We did not find the apartment set as we requested. Honestly, from the pictures I did not know where they would have put a twin bed and knew we could always use the sleeper sofa which we found linens for in the armoire.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your kind review and nice to know you enjoyed your stay ! The second bed is clearly indicated as being a sofa bed. If we leave the duvet and sheets readied inside before guests arrival it can break the mechanism as you would need to force the system to open/close the sofa and the sheets would be creased. That's why our standard is to store the duvet in a nearby closet. We understand some guests would prefer to have the sofa bed readied with the sheets and duvet inside but we would then have had comments about the sheets being creased. Hope to host you again in Paris ! Sincerely.

Decent Apartment in the 6th arrondissement

  • 4 of 5

We are a family of 4 that and just recently spent 6 weeks travelling through Europe. We are very particular of where we stay and booked 9 apartments based on reviews and photos. All bookings met, or exceeded our expectations with the exception of this apartment. While it is a decent apartment, unfortunately what disappointed us was the fact that the photos are not a true and recent reflection of the physical condition of the apartment as it is showing its age since the posted pictures were taken.

The main carpet is very stained, the bathroom counter laminate is chipped along the edges and one side of the press board is swelling and peeling due to water. Several of the lamps did not work, a lamp shade was burnt , drywall was cracked and pieces missing in a few areas. Upon arrival one side of the bedroom curtain rod had pulled away from the wall and was hanging; I had to take it down half way through our 1 week stay to ensure someone didn’t get hurt; in fairness to the management company upon notification they did offer to coordinate the repair during our stay. It is probably my fault for not noticing this in the apartment description but the toilet, with no access to a sink, is in a small room in the hallway. As per the photos the main bathroom with a sink and a tub, is on the other side of the main bedroom.

Instructions for all equipment is provided; it would have been helpful to have English instructions for the Oven/Microwave combo (French & German only); we were unable to use it. Not that we had time to watch television, note all channels are in French. Wifi signal is strong. For anyone with any mobility issues, due to the 3 flights of stairs and the height of the tub, this apartment is not recommended.

The apartment is secure and in a lovely part of the 6th close to shops, restaurants & the metro. The property management company is very professional and quick to answer any questions via email. It is a self checkin & check out process; you pick up & drop off the keys at a building 700 meters away via building and lock access codes. We had a car upon arrival & found it straight forward; with luggage and children it is recommended you hire a taxi as it is not close to the metro.

I would give the physical condition of the apartment a "Fair/Average" rating, but because of the excellent location I am giving it a "Good" rating as half way thru our stay we came to terms with the physical condition of the apartment.

Pleasant apartment, great location

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed in this apartment the first week of July. The rooms are very pleasant, with lots of natural light. The kitchen is modern and well equipped. The location is fantastic -- we already knew the 6th arrondissement, and so we knew we would be close to many of our favorite places.

If you require air conditioning or an elevator, then this apartment is not for you. We had the bad luck of arriving for the worst heat wave in Paris for more than ten years -- 40 degrees Celcius (104 Farenheit) one day! At our request staff provided us with a fan, which helped a lot. I'm sure that under normal summer conditions the apartment would be very comfortable, with nice cross-ventilation from the large windows. Climbing the beautiful old stairs was good exercise for us (in our late 60s).

The staff was helpful, and there was no problem checking in or out of the apartment. We got the refund of our security deposit a few days after we left.

Pied-à-terre à St Germain, très bien

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I spent one week in this apt. at the turn of April and May.

We can recommend it in many ways. The location is of course number one. Everything is close at your hands: metro, buses, museums, restaurants, cafes, shops. We have stayed in many hotels in the same area but were happy to rent the apt. this time as it was much more comfortable to stay at “home” than in a tiny hotel room. Had pretty rainy weather that week.

The apt. itself is spacious and well-equipped (TV pretty old fashioned though), has a very fast wifi connection, bedroom is quiet, kitchen works well. However, if the apt. would be mine, I’d do something to make it a bit cozier. Definitely the first thing would be to change the big, light living room carpet which is stained all over. Makes look the whole living room dirty though it’s not.

The apt. info is fastened impractically inside on the door where it is inconvenient to read. I’d appreciate if everything would be in a folder instead.

When arriving had some key problems but the manager office arranged everything in decent time which is not at all the case generally when staying in Paris or in France. Moreover this incident got us acquainted with our charming and helpful next door neighbor. The whole renting process with InBeauParis and Jean-Noël went fluently. The deposit fee was back on my account the next day I came back home. Thank you.

Owner's Response: Hi, Thank you for this nice review and the compliments on the management. As you said, the apartment location is just perfect with everything close by. We agree with you that being in the apartment feels more homely than staying in a tiny hotel room. Even more when the apartment is this spacious and well appointed! Thanks for pointing out the condition of the carpet. We informed the owner about it and he agreed to remove it. Thanks for your suggestion to keep the instructions in the folder. We regularly put a new one in the apartment but they often disappear, keeping them at the back of the entrance door in a plastic folder, allows us to be sure that there is always one set of instructions in the apartment. Hope that it makes sense to you. We hope that you’ll choose Wide when visiting Paris next time and that you’ll be happy to find the apartment improved based on your feedback. Sincerely, Jean-Noel
