Plenty of Clean Sheets, Towels, Blankets, Cooking Items, Coffee Maker, etc., are available as well. Condiments and other foods are available (based on availability). The ENTIRE house has filtered water, so there is no need to bring plastic water bottles that are harmful to the environment. We even have an extra (backup) system, that filters the water a 2nd time, in the kitchen with its own faucet.

This cozy, bright, sunny home is situated directly on the Esopus Creek (which runs into the Hudson River) with windows stretching from floor to ceiling offering: huge private deck(s) with patio furniture (tables and chairs), outside shower, lawn furniture, fire pit and dock area perfect for: swimming, boating, fishing, sailing, jet-skiing, kayaking, paddle boarding, directly from the steps of the home right to the water. Across the waterway you will find views of the Esopus Creek Conservancy (AKA: Esopus Nature Preserve) to use and enjoy with miles and miles of hiking trails for any level, beaches, lookout points, streams, nature and animal viewing, etc. Great for families or couple looking to get away and relax.

Since there is no cable, we do have Roku available in the living room, as well as TV’S and DVD players in all bedrooms with hundreds of videos/movies of all types to choose from (except the loft). The Roku is available through the internet to watch almost anything. Off street parking spots for 4 (can squeeze 6). RV/Boat/Trailer storage available as well. There is great cell phone reception and plenty of internet available to stream music, video's, etc. with "extenders" in the house to maintain that strong signal.

The two (2) Bedrooms (sleeps 4) offers a Queen size bed in each along with a closet and dresser for personal storage. Both bedrooms has a TV and DVD player.

The loft area has a full-size sofa-bed (sleeps 2) along with a pull-out sofa-bed and love seat and built-in dresser-drawers for personal storage. There is also a large sliding glass door that you can open and capture that mountain air.

The basement area has a pull-out (full-size) sofa-bed (sleeps 2) along with shelving units for personal storage.

There is a “baby crib”, “baby toys” and “security gates” available for the little ones as well.

Unfortunately, do to the safety of other guests (allergies), and our selves, we do not allow any pets or smoking in, on, or around the premises what-so-ever. Please do not take this lightly as you may lose your security deposit if caught.

The deck area on the main level (1st floor) provides a bridal view of the water offering tables and seating for eight (8), shade & sun, and a brand new (thermo) gas BBQ grill for entertaining, cooking, etc. It is absolutely breathtaking to sit out there and watch the leaves during the fall.

Rain or Shine, the ground-level patio area, located under the main deck, is water tight for enjoyment in any weather conditions. We do have plenty of patio furniture here as well.

The kayaks, paddle-board, bikes, fishing poles, snow and water tubes, etc. are available for use (at your own risk).

Early check-in's and late check-out's are doable based on availability.

This is not a party house, we are only catering to a very mature audience as our long-time neighbors are very friendly and quite people. Please keep this in mind before booking to avoid losing your security deposit. This includes, but is not limited to smoking and/or pets in, on or around the premises.

Please note: Holiday weekends require a three (3) night stay minimum. Additionally, any stays/booking that end in the middle of a holiday, must book through the entire holiday, such as, but not limited to, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, MLK, Presidents Day, etc.

About Erick B. Prinz

This is more about us. I (Erick), my brother (Darren) and sister (Tonya) decided to buy our own house on the same block that has been in the family for the last four (4) generations...........that is how much we love it up there in the Catskills.

I am in sales working for a manufacturer that specializes in making finished products out of recycled materials (most notably car tires). I am married to my wife Colleen and have a beautiful son named Fintan.

My brother, a research analyst for a Hedge Fund who lives in NYC.

My sister is a stay at home mother who is married with two children. They live in NYC.

Erick B. Prinz purchased this house in 2012

Why Erick B. Prinz chose Saugerties

We have been coming to Saugerties since we were born; our parents have been coming upstate since our father was a child. We loved it so much, that we decided to buy a place of our own just down the road from the family house. It is a wonderful place to just get away and unwind/unplug.

What makes this house unique

There is so much to tell about all the little details of both the home, and the area. I will sum it up in 'keywords': Waterfront, Biking, Hiking, Kayaking, Boating, Swimming, Fishing, Dock, Deck, Saugerties (Light House, Car Show, Etc.), Woodstock, Town of Hudson, HITS, Garlic Festival, Catskills, Dutchess Co. Fair, Events, Phoenicia Water Tubing, Hunter, Bellayre & Windham Mountain, Jet-Ski, Sailing, Rock Climbing, Ice-Climbing, Ice-Skating, Antiquing, Museums, Cinemas, Restaurants, Malls, Live Theater, Hunting, Sight Seeing, Boutiques, Fall Foliage, Snow Tubing, Golf.

There is always something different to do during any weekend, week, month or season............and that is way we love it so much.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I received a text message from my neighbor (Dec 24th @ 10:37 PM), just hours after this traveler checked in, stating the following: "I hate to bother you this late but I'm not sure you are aware. They're smoking, figured you'd wanna know". This is a clear violation of our house rules as we have family members who are HIGHLY allergic to pets and smoking. Our Description, House Rules, and Booking Intro Letter clearly indicates that there is no pets or smoking in, on or around the premises what-so-ever.

If it was the one time, I may have overlooked it, but upon further investigation, it was all weekend. I am not a happy camper (at all) as I now have to spend extra time, money and energy to deep clean in order to get rid of the smoke.

It is unfortunate that when you open your beautiful vacation home to travelers like this, who break the rules, then leaves a false review to inflict misleading information to others, make you distrust the system.....and not want to take this travelers booking....so be aware.

I am dealing with lots of back and forth from booking site. Traveler filed verbal complaint with HA and lost. Then filed formal complaint with HA and lost. Then disputed CC charge against me and HA and lost. Disputed with his CC company yet again and will lose......for the 4th time. As an owner, this has taken up a lot of time, money and energy. That being said, you may want to pay close attention to what is involved when taking a booking from this traveler as the experience has been a nightmare to say the least.

PS: As a result of this situation, I bumped up the security deposit fee to counteract the loss of time money and energy dealing with all the back and forth.........as it is completely unnecessary.

The simple fact remains = Read the house rules before booking & don't break said house rules.

Very beautiful and cozy home. Erick was there for any question we had.

  • 5 of 5

If your looking for a cozy home away from home, look no further. This place was great. Equipped with anything and everything you need. Great for the adults and kids. We Happened to go in the winter and not the summer, which this house is a for sure summer home. We had a great time either way, I highly recommend this home and Erick.

July 31-Aug 2

Our expectations were high before we arrived, and upon a quick inspection of the home we realized our expectations had been exceeded! We jumped right in the river with the kayaks, paddleboard and tubes; made smores in the firepit; played ping pong and Cranium. Very close to town for groceries and exploring. I believe the only complaint was that there was no soap for hand washing the dishes, only dishwasher detergent. Oh, and we would have liked to have our dog come with us but we understand that pets probably aren't allowed due to future guests having allergies. Perhaps allowing dogs/pets for an additional fee/deposit?

Great property

  • 5 of 5

We just stayed at this house while showing at HITS. It is located very close to downtown and HITS on the Hudson. The property is beautiful. Very modern updated home. Loved sitting outside on the deck looking out over the water!

Fantastic location but a few unexpected snags...

  • 3 of 5

Erick was wonderful to deal with, quick responses. However, a week prior to our arrival we were notified that's a pool table and ping pong table in the basement we're not available due to previous guests destroying them. This was very disappointing because rain was anticipated the whole trip and we were relying on this as entertainment. I do understand, these things happen but still disappointing.

The basement had a pull out couch which initially we had planned on using because our group was larger. One person became ill and was not able to stay at the house with us which turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The couch that was counted as a bed in the house description was unacceptable. It was faux blue leather, (which may not be my choice but doesn't matter as long as its in sturdy condition to sleep on) and the blue fake leather was crumbling off of the fabric. It was mostly canvas with patches of blue. It looked like it should be at someone's curb for the garbage. It also was sinking in the center and the cushions were so worn out they were misshapen. Had my additional guests come along she would have been sleeping on the floor. I had planned on sleeping on a couch that was in the pictures in the loft which was not there upon arrival. Erick told me where to find an air mattress which I slept on for the length of our stay. It did have a slow leak so I had to fill it every night because by morning it would be out of air and we were on the floor (uncomfortable).

The cabinets were not as well stocked as I expected, short on pans, only four of each dish + could use more pots, pans, etc.

As I said, the area is beautiful and we did enjoy ourselves in spite of some obstacles. The house is in a neighborhood. It does not feel anything like a vacation area which was rather nice, too. The neighbor kids were swinging on the rope swing whenever we were indoors. I was hoping the neighbors were watching them, because I was somewhat nervous they may get hurt and didn't feel like watching strangers kids while on vacation. Mine are older; these kids were around 5 & 8 or so. Turned out fine in the end.

Great kayaks, great paddle board and lots of tubes. The creek was great, downtown Woodstock is adorable. I would recommend this location but be very sure of the sleeping Arrangements and entertainment available before you book. Also a couple of changes since the photos were taken, but nothing life changing.

Amazing stay in this superb setting!

  • 5 of 5

Clean, tranquil, spacious! We enjoyed kayaks to bonfires to ping pong to bbq to breakfast on the deck with amazing water view....you can actually feed the ducks on the river from the deck! We saw otters while out in the kayaks, a bald eagle, a flock of Canadian geese flew over as well as several other beautiful birds. Would definitely recommend this property (and the hike to katterskil falls!)

Owner's Response: Robin - I am really glad you enjoyed your stay. Everyone has been talking about the bald eagle, which apparently is nesting near by. For Homeowners - Robin and her guests were AWESOME. They were a pleasure to have in our home and would HIGHLY recommend them to others.
