Wonderful place!

We loved it here! The location, the view, the pool, the price, the dock nearby and the service was amazing! It's a little further from town than we thought but just plan on renting bikes or a golf cart. We loved the services given by the management such as the ride to and from the airport/boat taxi, the laundry service, and little things like bringing us a can opener when the one in the condo wasn't working. The management is so helpful and answered a lot of our questions beforehand. We really enjoyed the pool and the veranda. The condo was comfortable and nicely decorated. It had good amenities and a pretty well stocked kitchen for cooking. There are a few good restaurants nearby (across the street and within close walking distance) and any rental service (golf carts, bikes) will deliver to you. The only improvements that could be made is that the internet router is old and needs to be replaced. The Internet connection was hit or miss. Also we didn't know there's a charge for local phone call use. It would be helpful to know that beforehand or have a $10 or $20 credit added in the cost of the rental. The management was nice about adding the credit for us but we just didn't know about it before. Also a side note about visiting here- the snorkel tours are amazing! They are worth it and I would highly recommend booking at least one. The rental company boat will pick you up right from the dock so it's convenient. Snorkeling is ok off the dock, but doing a snorkel tour that takes you out to the reef is so much better! Beautiful clear water and lots of fish and sea life! We would definitely stay at Tranquility Beach Club #9 again!

Everything you need

This property has everything that you will need for your stay. We found it to be fully stocked with all amenities, the kitchen was great!! My only advice would be, do not try and go down the stairs from the third bedroom loft with even the slightest wet feet or you will find yourself flat at the bottom as I did. HAHAHA You will need a gold cart for traveling back and forth to town as it's too far to walk. If you are divers highly recommend Island Divers operated by Rudy, very professional and they will come pick you up at the dock.

unBELIZEable trip!

This was our first trip to Belize and we can't wait to go back! This condo was perfect for our group of 8 adults. It was so nice sharing queen size beds and no one having to sleep on a pull out sofa bed. The upstairs loft was stuffy, but the fans up there helped. We ended up switching rooms between us halfway through the week so it was fair to everyone and no one was stuck up there the whole time. I am so happy we decided to stay in a condo instead of a resort - it was so peaceful and quiet. The pool and beach area were incredible! Having wi-fi in the condo was a huge plus - we were all able to stay connected with email, facebook, fantasy football, etc. Golf carts are definitely a must. The 2 close by restaurants were closed during our stay since it was low season, so we always went into town. Plus it was really fun to go north of the bridge and check out Captain Morgan's resort and the Palapa bar.

The property management was great to work with - they answered all my questions very quickly and were very helpful. I was very pleased that the condo was as nice as the pictures look. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice Place on Ambergris

The previous reviews for this condo are pretty much on the mark so I won't repeat them, Here are our thoughts. Mary, the condo manager was absolutely great - before our arrival and during our stay. She's very easy to talk to, has tons of info about the island and will be willing to set up anything you need.

The view from the 3rd floor is beautiful, the a/c is amazing. The bugs love to feast on any human they can find! You'll be ok if you slather up with a good bug spray. Because of this, opening all of the doors to let the afternoon breeze blow through the condo is not a good idea.

The condo had everything we needed for my wife, me and our daughter. The info on the condo says there's a king size bed in the master bedroom. In fact, it's a queen. There's a queen in the other downstairs bedroom and two doubles in the bedroom upstairs. FYI, there's no A/C upstairs in the 3rd bedroom, so it might get a little hot up there. We didn't need it, so it wasn't a problem for us.

We rented a golf cart for the week we were there and I'm glad we did. Being 2.5 miles south of San Pedro, it was nice to be able to hop in the cart and go get dinner up in town without calling a taxi. The roads aren't very good and once you get into town, there's a ton of speed bumps, so be patient and go slow.

Restaurants - Lone Star (across from condo) - In spite of all of the positive reviews, we had a very mediocre meal. Blue Water Grill - good food and nice location. Pineapple's - part of Ramon's Resort and it felt like a Disneyland attraction and mediocre food. Elvi's - good food and one of San Pedro's oldest restaurants. Waruguma - ate there the last day and had the best burritos I have ever had. It's a little dumpy, but the food is amazing. Best for last - Aji's Tapa Bar - incredible food! It was definitely worth the drive and the location on the beach can't be beat!

Although it's a beautiful island, my biggest disappointment was not being able to snorkel from the beach. The fish are out on the reef, about a half-mile offshore. We took a snorkel trip through Suya Tours. Although we saw turtles, rays, a ton of fish and some nurse sharks at Hol Chon Reserve, it was so crowded out there. 15-20 boats and lots of people to dodge in the water. Not at all peaceful and it felt very commercialized and staged. If you're a diver, you could probably get away from the crowds further out.

Hopkins Beach, our first week was much less crowded and great local food and people!

Owner's Response: Thanks for taking the time to write such an extensive review. We'll change the size description of the bed size. The mosquitoes are somewhat seasonal and we're often able to open the doors/windows for a nice sea breeze. Hol Chan can be an incredible place to snorkel unless it's too crowded and fortunately it's usually not. I love to combine it with a day of some fishing (always successful) and lunch beach cookout of those freshly caught fish with Capt Leo Bradley. If you have the chance to return to the island I would recommend two more restaurants. For casual dining in town on the waterfront, Wild Mangos. It's a boutique restaurant that oozes atmosphere and has food to match. And for an elegant but not stuffy white linen restaurant, Victoria House. It's very close to the condo and beautiful day and night. I like to start with the fisherman's seafood soup. Thanks again for taking the time to review your stay. Glad you enjoyed your trip and hope you get to make it back to the island.

Ambergris place on earth!!!

Love love love Ambergris Caye and this condo. Not far from town, but far enough that it's so peaceful and relaxing. Beautiful condo right on the beach with a beautiful view!! Great place for 3 couples and also kids!! Very clean with a private pool. Short golf cart ride to town to eat at amazing restaurants. Also, a bar right across from the condo. Can't wait to go back and stay here.

We have stayed at this beautiful Condo 2 times and enjoyed it immensely. It is great for 3 couples or 2 couples with 4 kids, plenty of room. It is clean and neat with all the ammenities you would want while staying on this paradise island. Very good location. It is far enough away from the hustle of the downtown area but only a short cart ride from any area on the island. Private pool with bar next door is a plus. Great restaurants only a few minutes away by cart or even within walking distance. All kinds of excursions readily available including fishing, snorkeling, beach barbeque, etc. We highly recommend this listing, and you can't beat this price!!
