Our property is conveniently located close to the beach and downtown area.

Your home is a fully furnished apartment with two rooms and two baths that can comfortably accommodate 6 persons.

Your apartment is on the 1st floor (above the ground floor) with air conditioner in the bedrooms.

The house was entirely designed to have a comfortable, relaxed, stress free and very enjoyable atmosphere. Thanks to its construction materials (hardwood and bamboo,) the apartment remains cool even in very sunny days (you will find concrete only in the bathrooms).

Come visit or stay for long in UNESCOs (1982) declared 2nd best climate in the world: Playas (General Villamil).

Playas is just an hour and 15 minute drive from the main city of Guayaquil and from Salinas, a fishing and marina port.

When you come to Playas, you can have fun enjoying the sea breeze, relax in an uncrowded, light, fine-sand beach, order seafood and lunch meals that are conveniently low in price, go for a boat ride to near Puna island, where you will, on the way there, find and see marine and bird life, or simply go for a walk at the central park (day or at night).

At night and on weekends, during high season, the downtown and beach area becomes very active. High season is between January and March.

If you are more of a surf addict, there are many nearby places where you can ride the waves: el Pelado, Engavao, Shark Bay, etc.

Other amenities of the house include two led tvs, a 24 inch in the master bedroom and a 32 inch in the living room, cable tv, blue-ray and blue-ray movies, fast internet connection (wireless), kitchen, two balconies, patio and ground floor, where you can entertain guests.

You can enjoy barbecues on the patio and can get together with friends at night on the ground floor. There is a large yard in-front of the house suitable for gatherings with a pine and orange tree nearby. The nights are great, with clear nights most of the time, and an spectacular climate (averaging 77 Fahrenheit year-round), although between January and March it can get a bit hotter. During the day you can enjoy plenty of sun at the house patio, or if it is too much sun, you can find shade from the nearby trees, bamboo, and cade shades strategically located around the patio and yard.

In case you need smaller accommodations (for friends or visit), we can set them up for you. Just let us know what you need, and we will do our best to find a suitable and comfortable place for your party-stay. If you find the dates you wish to come as been unavailable, send me an email anyway as I may be able to accommodate your party on another floor.

We can have a person meet you at the airport and transport you to the property for a fee. Washing and drying room open for long term renters from 8am to 8pm. you may receive a key for access, and must lock the room once you are done using it. Your apartment will be light cleaned every Saturday by our staff. Television in bedroom should be turned off at 10pm and its volume lowered in the living room. Music played on the patio should be lowered at 10pm. You may entertain guests on the patio.

Clean House, Friendly Host

My wife and I, along with another couple friends stayed in this house. It was cute, nice and Frank was super friendly and helpful. Playas wasn't our favorite town, but this is definitely the place to stay if you are going to be in Playas. The only problem we had were a bunch of ants in the bathroom, but the rest of the place was very nice. Bed was comfortable. Air conditioning was nice. No hot water, but the water coming out of the pipes was warm anyway. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in Playas, Ecuador.

Owner's Response: We always love to hear from our guests. Thank you for pointing our successes as well as where we need to improve. Playas is striving to become city of Guayaquil's beach and tourist destination, and along that road it faces some small challenges. We do have hot water in the property. Apparently a bit more communication/instruction on how to access it would have proven helpful. I am glad you did not need it. In the less warmer months from April to November, hot water becomes handy, so we make sure it properly works year-round. Thank you for letting us know about aunts. We work hard to maintain our property as clean as possible, but because of the natural resources of which the house was built with, ants tend to like/enjoy making our property their property too. We do take this very seriously though, and every other year the entire house is pest serviced. Had you told us about this while you were staying, we would have taken care of this immediately. Thanks for letting us know how comfortable you were with some of the house amenities - bed and air conditioning.

Nice little bambo house

Frank was great and very accommodating especially as our previous property fell through at last minute but thankfully Frank came to the rescue! Arrived to find the fridge stocked up with all basic necessities and a fruit bowl full of fruit, bottled water etc.

The house is great for what we wanted and the beds were super comfortable. Wifi worked well.

The house is about 8 blocks to the beach or 10 min walk or you can get a tuk tuk for $1. The mall on the beach was a great escape from the heat when needed!

We had a great week, thanks for having us!

A Perfect Rental!!! -From Tampa Fl :)

My wife and I stayed here for a Honeymoon and Vacation Combo apx 8 days!

We were very impressed with the property and the warm welcome from the owners and staff. The property was walking distances to the beach and restaurants... We even found a Mall that was a $1 taxi ride away. :) Honestly we had a great time and we will be back :)

Also the owners can arrange site seeing tours with a personal driver - we took advantage of this perk apx two times :)

Well maintained 2 bedroom, very helpful owner

My husband and I stayed in this 2nd floor (ground, 1st floor, 2nd floor) apartment during the month of February. The apartment and yard are well maintained by staff who are on site 6 days per week. In addition the owner is available for any questions and was very helpful before and during our stay. There's a gated sitting area and small lawn/garden in front of the building. We enjoyed the cool ocean breezes while sitting on the porch in front of our apartment on the 2nd floor.

The apartment is comfortable. The kitchen consists of stovetop, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and enough dishes/glasses/silverware for 4-6 people. We only used the master bedroom and we found the room to be large and the queen-sized bed to be comfortable. Mosquito netting is provided if needed, and we used it because my husband is a mosquito magnet. The bathrooms are good sized and there is plenty of hot water.

The apartment is on one of the main streets in Playas. This added a little more noise than we were expecting, but we got used to it. The town of Playas offers many typical Ecuadorian seafood restaurants as well as a few restaurants with other cuisines. We often walked the 8 blocks or so to the beach, which is well maintained for a public beach. If you are staying for a long time I recommend choosing your beach days during the week and let the families who come from Guayaquil to have it on Saturday and Sunday.

nice place not too far from the beach

My friend and I were very comfortable here during our monthlong stay. This is a nice, clean property with a number of conveniences including a pretty well-equipped kitchen, Internet, cable, and a washer and dryer. The only downside might be the noise level on weekends, but that's not a fault on the property.

Frank was very helpful with whatever we needed throughout our stay - he arranged a taxi to pick us up from the airport when we first arrived in addition to putting us in contact with a local surf instructor after we expressed an interest in it. Frank also helped us with arranging a taxi to take us to our next destination.

About Frank Alache

Hi, I am Frank and am a University professor who enjoys outdoor activities. For me, it has been a family tradition to spend the weekends and beach seasons in Playas, and try to continue with this tradition whenever we can. This is how I, beginning from my childhood years, became very appreciative of Playas, and recently decided to build a comfortable, eco-friendly home there. At the same time, I have a concern for nature and the environment, which is the reason why I had the apartment constructed with a small amount of concrete. By gaining access and using local natural resources (hard bamboo from Quevedo and hard woods from Esmeraldas), I was able to have this three story house built from local and environment friendly resources.

In 1982, UNESCO declared Playas to have the 2nd best climate of the world. The beach has a very fine sand and the water is really warm. It is so warm that even in the 'cool' season (August through November) you can still get in and find comfortable water temperatures.

The fauna on el Canal del Morro, which separates the Puna Island from the Continental land, is spectacular. You will be able to see dolphins, patas azules birds, fragatas and many more birds that have made the small islands - islotes - their home, as you venture in a boat trip to the Puna Island (15 to 45 minutes- it is up to you how far you want to go), where you can take plenty of pictures and then disembark in any of the three comunas (communal lands) to enjoy more beach privacy and very calm and warm waters.

If you enjoy peer fishing or surfing, el Faro and el Pelado, respectively, will be your favorite places to visit. Both are a 10 minutes drive from your apartment.

You can visit a historic wood church: la Iglesia del Morro (over 500 years old); do roller skating at the central park, bike and climb in el Cerro del Muerto. We can help you contract a small boat or lancha if you prefer going deep sea fishing, diving, or getting snorkeling certified.
