Remodeled bathroom with travertine floors. Fully stocked kitchen utensils if you wish to stay in or walk to a variety of pacific beach restaurants close by.

Backyard has patio furniture to seat 6, gas BBQ perfect for entertaining. Outdoor shower to rinse off after a day at the beach. surfboards, boogie boards, beach towels, cooler, beach games, etc. Just show up and hit the beach!

Authentic California bungalow in Pacific Beach at a great price

We had a nice time at this two bedroom, one bathroom bungalow located just 3 blocks from the beach in the Pacific Beach area of San Diego. It's not fancy, but it was comfortably furnished, and the backyard was worth the price all by itself. It's lit up with a string of lights, set off completely from the homes around it, and lush with Southern California vegetation. We loved sitting out there in the morning sun with coffee, or grilling out there in the evening. The enclosed yard was great for pets - our son and his wife joined us with their two small dogs who are otherwise prone to wandering off, so this really was a nice feature. It was easy to walk to the beach, and the small Italian restaurant around the corner was excellent. It was easy to drive to all the other San Diego spots - La Jolla, downtown, Balboa Park, Ocean Beach, etc - just a great location. The owner was nearby and very responsive without being intrusive. The driveway was long enough to fit two cars off the street, which we also appreciated. It's not luxurious or equipped with all new furnishings and accessories, which is the only reason we're giving 4 instead of 5 stars, but it was clean and had the essentials at a much, much lower price than the other condos and homes to be found in Pacific Beach. We would absolutely stay there again.

Great place close to everything in Pacific Beach...I mean everything!!

Cons: So the house was nice and clean and very close to everything we wanted. The beds were comfy, it had a front porch for the morning sun and a big backyard for the afternoon sun and entertaining. There are bikes and a couple of beach chairs in the garage and that's where you'll also find the washer and dryer. The kitchen was sufficiently equipped and we only used of for breakfast. The TV we saw in the photos (an old box one) has been replaced with a flat screen. The neighborhood is quiet and after a day of being in the hustle on the boardwalk, it's nice to retreat to a quiet place. Check is was super easy and the keypad on the door is the best! Having a driveway is also a huge plus. Best shower and water pressure EVER!!

Cons: This place could use some TLC as it could be a stunning little beach house with some attention spent on various items. The from deck furniture old, wore and dirty to sit on. Same with the backyard furniture. The lower drawer on dresser in the back bedroom was broken...kept coming off the track. While I see that the futon in the living room allows for another place to sleep, it's uncomfortable to sit on while watching TV. The cable subscription is the most minimal and there is no way to watch non-network TV or a movie unless you bring your own Apple TV. There is an old coffee maker. No soap in the bathroom or shower. The refrigerator temp was turned all the way down when we arrived and there was some mold in the freezer section. When we walked in, the house was freezing. It's almost like the place wasn't prepared for our arrival. You can't see or hear the ocean from the house.

Suggestions:

1.) Make sure someone preps the house for the renters arrival

2.) Get a more comfortable couch to chill after a long day at the beach or walking

3.) Get a smart TV that has apps like Netflix and others built in so tenants can use their own login credentials to watch movies.

4.) Sand and renew the patio furniture

5.) Buy a Keurig coffee maker

6.) There were so many great restaurants we went to that we found on our own. The welcome book should have these listed (The Smoking Goat, Bencotto, Java Earth Cafe, PB Shore Club, Water Bar, Piatta's, Backyard Kitchen and Tap, PB Ale House, OB Noodle House Bar 1502)

7.) The welcome book needs to explain how to turn the heat on and off...we were there in Dec. and we figured it out

Would we come back to this place, yes but we don't repeat vacations spots.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the feedback and glad you had a great week. As far as your " cons" I will address them (and some have already been addressed without much clarification on my part, I must admit). . Yes, the TV has been upgraded and we are working on getting 'smart tv' status and maybe one for the bedroom which should be here by the summer. The patio furniture stays outside year round and is somewhat weathered but there are brand new cushions in the garage.....maybe that wasn't readily explained in the welcome book . The wall heater instructions will be put in the book, also, thanks for pointing that out. Heat is needed here only 3 months of the year, max. A keurig is on the way......most have been happy with the coffee maker and the 10 coffee shops in short walking distance but I guess a keurig is the new norm. Bottom line..... glad you had a nice week! Thanks for the feedback, for taking good care of the place and being a respectful neighbor!

Great Home w/ Giant Yard

We really couldn't ask for a better home. My girlfriend and I have been traveling the country for almost 3 years now, and this is the best place we have lived in yet. The home is exactly what we were looking for. Everything is clean and well kept and Tim is very responsive to all our needs. The backyard is huge and has a nice, clean gas grill. The front deck is a great place to wake up with the sun and start your day. The neighborhood is real quiet, which we enjoy, and is only a short bike ride away to the major streets in PB. And the location....you really can't beat it!! It's far enough away from the beach to miss a lot of congestion but close enough to walk there in 3 min. We highly recommend you consider staying at this cozy home.

PERFECT BUNGALOW FOR A CALIFORNIA GET AWAY

Recently I took my 8 year old daughter & her friend (of the same age) on a trip to California. We LOVED Tim's home! It was so close to the beach, and within walking distance to just about everything else we needed. The back yard is perfect for grilling out and staying in. When we arrived, we found a binder with information on WIFI & such - which worked perfectly & we were able to to connect all of our devices to it. The home itself was very clean when we arrived. There is also a nice patio table on the front deck where we frequently ate breakfast. I couldn't have asked for a better location/home!!

Tim was extremely helpful & easy to get a hold of. He was very nice which made our trip even more enjoyable.

I highly recommend this property, and would stay here again if we come to San Diego :)

Unpretentious Beach Bungalow

We (two adults and one child) spent two months at Tim's very relaxed, comfortable, and unpretentious 1950s beach bungalow on Beryl and would do it all over again in a flash. The location could not be better: you are literally three blocks from the beach and still close to everything. The front porch and back yard are lovely, very quiet, and private. The house has off-street parking for two cars which is very useful on beach weekends. The house has good wifi. Tim was especially helpful and nice.

Lovely stay!

We had a great time staying in Tim's home. It was SO convenient to everything and had everything we needed, including two bikes and beautiful out door spaces. The beds were big and comfortable, everything was clean, and it was super convenient to have laundry in house. I plan to return the next time I'm in San Diego!
