The 18 hole Pine Mountain Lake championship golf course is a mile away. Visit the Country Club for dinner or The Iron Door Saloon, the oldest continually running saloon in California, which is right uptown, just outside the gate.
Reach Yosemite floor in less than an hour. Unparalleled beauty by day and an easy ride home at its end. Visit Jamestown, Sonora, and the quaint town of Murphy's with its well-known wineries, restaurants, day spas, concerts, and live events. Tuolumne's Black Oak Casino is a half hour away.
Our 1600 square foot two-story house gives you plenty of room to spread out. With two queen-sized beds, one full futon, one twin bunk, and a pull-out sofabed, you can fit everyone. New TVs on both floors and a ping-pong/pool table for activity. We have a huge backyard area for all sorts of ball playing plus a championship sized horseshoe pit.
Relax out on the porch to watch the sun go down and look for the deer. Bar-b-que or pick up some great Mexican food in town. Use the kitchen to cook dinner or mix drinks.
One note: renters have been surprised to discover that Pine Mountain Lake Association charges a per car one time fee of $30, recently increased. This fee does not get paid through this site, but is remitted at the gate upon entrance

About Martina Lawlor
I teach middle school and love to be around kids that age. But I also love to get away to the mountains for the weekend to relax. My kids are in their thirties, and I look forward to the day when I can look off the deck and see little ones playing horseshoes and swinging from the rope on the old oak tree out back.
Martina Lawlor purchased this House in 2001
Why Martina Lawlor chose Groveland
The location of a lake property in a gated community less than three hours from Silicon Valley with our home's location so close to the gate, the lake, and the golf course made it an intoxicatingly easy decision to buy into Pine Mountain Lake. Knowing others could enjoy a home we can't use full time seemed to enhance its attractiveness.
What makes this House unique
To be in a community yet feel as alone as one wishes, to walk outside at night in the dark and see a sky filled with all the stars one can't see at home, to walk alongside deer and not have to listen to the sound of freeway noise...what a life. What a joy.

My family and I had a great stay. When it was rainy outside we enjoyed playing pool and ping pong. My kids loved collecting rocks from outside and watching deer from the deck.
Really enjoyed this home, it was close to many attractions very specious. The kids really enjoyed the ping pong and pool table. Everyone wanted to stay another night. Will be back :)

Good place to spend long weekend
We spend here a long weekend. It was a good alternative to stay close to Yosemite.
Fabatastic place for a Yosemite getaway
We came back for a second time this year. Love th cozy house and quiet town so close to Yosemite gate. Would come back again
Nice Home, Amenities in Good Location
My wife and I with my daughter's family including our 2 grandchildren (boys 8 & 10 yrs) spent 4 nights over Thanksgiving this year in this warm, wonderful home. Plenty of room to spread out and enjoy your private time but we all spent most of the time in the large family room with the TV & fireplace. The boys played pool and ping pong downstairs. The kitchen is off the family room and is well equipped for cooking the Thanksgiving meal. The cabin is easy to find located on the main road into Pine Mountain Lake. We hiked to the Lake, Marina and around the development looking at the huge, beautiful homes in addition to travelling twice to Yosemite Valley (47 miles). The town of Groveland ( population 1500) close by is cute and quaint. The people here must love their pizza because I counted 4 pizza joints ( Two Guys was recommended as being the best) in town along with a local saloon. The owner of the home was very sweet and responsive. We had a great vacation in Groveland even though it's a ways from Yosemite. Would recommend going earlier in the year for more activities at the Lake (fishing, boating, swimming) and clubhouse. Most everything was closed during our visit.
Pine Mountain Lake is a gated community catering to its vacation clientele. It's a place to slow down or rev up, a place to play, to sleep in a beach chair at the lake, a place for great food. Come visit us!
