Overview

About the property

Condo, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 6)

Sit on the covered lanai and enjoy the panoramic view of the spectacular coastline of Hukilau Beach, and the towering Koolau mountain range behind. Less than 100 steps to the waters edge, and a lovely meadow stretching past coconut trees and into the distance. A bicycle path runs through the meadow next to the property and along pastures where cattle graze on one side and spectacular beaches on the other. At Hukilau Beach you can walk across the reef to Goat Island just off shore.

Canadian maple cabinetry in the kitchen and bath, marble tub surround, and Ipe hardwood floors in the bedrooms. Plenty of outdoor living and a real tropical countryside feel. Shopping center just a 3 minute drive with grocery store, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Subway and more. Two screen movie theater. Brigham Young University 5 blocks from house. The Polynesian Cultural Center is one mile south. The rental shop just across the meadow, Rides and Grinds, offers kayak rentals, surfboards, bicycles, mopeds, and more. Close to everything and yet country seclusion.

Queen bed in one room and Bunk set plus queen in the other. Built in 2009, the house still shines like new.

Ask about my 2 bedroom/ 2 bath unit on the same property as well!

About Marci Paddock

Walking on the beach in the morning is a favorite for exercise, and with the new bike path going to Kahuku, we love to ride bikes, sometimes all the way to Sunset Beach. If you make it to Sunset Beach area, Teds bakery is a great place to get a crab sandwitch and a piece of their famous chocolate haupia (coconut) pie.

Marci Paddock purchased this condo in 2009

Why Marci Paddock chose Laie

We came here 6 years in a row on vacation and decided to leave the hustle bustle of the city and move to paradise. Laie is a very friendly community where life slows down and people enjoy the beauty around them.

What makes this condo unique

The visitors center at the Mormon Temple is a great place to go when you want to enjoy a peaceful place to ponder and wander around the Temple grounds. The view from the Temple steps looking all the way down to the ocean is worth the visit alone.

Convenient location with beach access.

  • 5 of 5

Clean and comfortable home that is close to all the north shore attractions. Inly steps from the public beach that is across the street, a couple minutes drive to the Polynesian Cultural Center, BYU-H or some really great secluded beaches.

We came prepared for a little bit of road noise as mentioned in some reviews but it was not as bad as some have said, overall we enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to book this home again.

The Owner was pleasant and easy to communicate with as well.

Owner's Response: Many of our guests say that this beach is their favorite beach on the island. It is so convenient to just go back and forth to the beach throughout the day. No packing up the car and the kids to get on your way! Marci

Laie is an amazing place no matter what. The property was very average and not as nice as most.

  • 3 of 5

The location of the property was excellent. However, the traffic was very loud, the hukilau beach wasn't the best, there were people in properties behind that were loud during the night. Garbage disposal barely worked, bathroom sink not good, etc. Other than those things, we had a good time.

Owner's Response: We try very hard to keep things in good working order. If the guest had told us the sink and disposal had a problem we would have come and fixed it immediately. Hukilau Beach is a great beach. We have never in 10 years had a guest say they did not think that beach was spectacular. We did have a storm that brought in some ocean debris, but it was cleaned up within a few days.

Great accommodations and location.

  • 4 of 5

Our teenage granddaughters loved being so close to the beach. We would come back from a busy day of activities, and they would grab their swimming suits and boogie boards and run across the road to spend time playing in the ocean. We were attending a reunion in Laie and most of our activities were within walking distance of the house. We would definitely recommend this property!

Loved the closeness to the beach!

  • 5 of 5

Comfortable, clean, everything we needed. It was a bit noisy as mentioned in other reviews but we got used to it. I would definitely recommend and return. Very convenient to just walk across the street to go to a very nice, non crowded beach.

Beautiful, well kept home in great location

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at this property. It was across the highway from a very pretty beach, but during the time we were there, the water at this beach was murky and the kids didn't want to play in it. It was great for watching others boogie board and kite surf, though. The home was close to grocery shopping, restaurants, the LDS Temple, Polynesian Cultural Center, and BYU-Hawaii. Location is great!

The home itself is very clean, tastefully decorated, and comfortable. It's 2 bedrooms fit the 6 of us perfectly. The kitchen is wonderful! Lots of counter space and everything you need to make your own meals. We appreciated the dishwasher :) Bathroom includes a bathtub, which is nice when you have a younger child who doesn't like showers.

Downsides have been mentioned by all the other reviewers - no air conditioning, so you need to keep the windows open, and since it's on the highway, you have the street noise. But I must say that there was a heavenly breeze that kept the home cool the entire time we were there!

Owner's Response: These guests arrived late at night and then called me to request a full refund due to their grandson getting bitten by an insect outdoors and ending up in the hospital due to an allergy. Guests blamed me for the insect bite.
