About Eric & Leila Wallut

Eric and Leila Wallut

When I was just 14, my folks retired and moved us from St. Louis MO to Crescent Beach, Fla. Crescent Beach is 10 miles south of St. Augustine Beach. We were there for two years, when my folks made the decision to move back to St. Louis. I was heart broken, as I had fallen in love with the area. When my wife and I tied the knot, I shared my dream of one day moving to this beach community when we retire. And now we have put this dream in motion with the purchase of this beautiful property.

Eric & Leila Wallut purchased this house in 2011

Why Eric & Leila Wallut chose Saint Augustine Beach

Location Location Location. 100% of the furniture was purchased in 2011-21013 for this vacation home, and we continue to update with new living room furniture and updates to kitchen and baths. So many Florida rental properties have that color scheme of pastel limes, orange and pink interiors that you just want to scream. We wanted to give our guests a coastal and contemporary feel. You will find this look throughout our home.

What makes this house unique

Everything you want from a beach vacation is here and in short walking distance. There are two large gift shops 2 blocks away, restaurants everywhere close by. The beautiful beach! It's all right here! There are so many attractions close by, you may struggle balancing your beach time with all the other fun and exciting things you can do in the area (lighthouse and museum, Alligator Farm, state park with more pristine beach, surf shops, and the historical city of St. Augustine with the Fort, Flagler College, Lightner and other wonderful museums, art galleries, tours, restaurants, we could go on and on! Call us for additional fun ideas!

I am not sure where to begin. The house was awesome. Clean, quiet, private, great location. What stands out for me though was the property manager Morgan. Whatever they are paying him it is not enough. It was my wife's birthday week and I had packages delivered and Morgan was kind enough to take them to the house so I could complete a great surprise. I needed trolley tickets and Morgan had them waiting when I arrived. Beach chairs and umbrella just a quick text to Morgan and it was done. This was one of the better vacations I can say I have had and it is thanks to the great house and great manager. It was so good that my wife and I cancelled our flight out and stayed 3 extra days! We will be back to enjoy a great house and a great town!

Great location, well-maintained!

  • 4 of 5

This cute home is located in an ideal spot! We've stayed in many vacation rentals in St. Augustine. While not directly beachside, it is an easy walk from the home. Several restaurants are in walking distance as well (including Cafe 11, just one block). It's really ideally situated. The home is updated, well appointed, extremely clean (very important to me!), and nicely furnished. Due to the weather, we were not able to enjoy the backyard, but they have a very nice patio and landscaping in the backyard (with privacy fence). There were only two negatives for us- we couldn't bring our dog (due to allergies they have), and the second bedroom has a small full size bed that is low to the ground. We didn't need the second bedroom this trip, but generally one or more of our adult kids travels with us and this home would not have worked for us in that regard. The second bedroom would be great for a kid, and possibly a small adult, but certainly not two adults or anyone tall. Because it is a low platform type bed, again, great for a kid but not so easy for adult to get up and down from. That being said, if we traveled alone again, we would definitely stay here again! It's small, but very tidy, modern, and had everything we needed!

Owner's Response: Hello! Thanks for your valued insight as a guest in our home. In response to your feedback, we want to let you know we have updated that second bedroom. There is now a regular (not low to the ground) full-sized bed in the room. We also added a single day bed/pull-out futon in the living area for guest seating and for overnight stays as options for additional guests (more than 3 or 4 ) for a total of up to 5 to stay comfortably. Plus, there is a single bed air mattress that many guests have used for babies/toddlers. Updated pictures coming soon! Thanks again, Leila and Eric Wallut

Great house in great location

  • 5 of 5

We are a small family with 2 little boys and this was perfect for them, the fully fenced garden with grass which was cut twice during our stay was perfect,we stayed for 10 days then another 4 days after deciding we wanted to come back to the beach before heading back to London.

The backyard had electrical points so we could plug our laptop in and they even had some super speakers,my son found it wonderful that he had to find where the noise of the gruffalo was coming from!

The beach was so close by so the outdoor shower was great, the garden hose was fun too.

You have to go through the utility room to go to the garden but we got used to that, on reflection it was better because we could all shower off before entering the house.

The house had everything we needed, and unlike some vacation rentals it had lots of kitchen supplies such as washing up liquid and laundry detergent..thank you for those little extras, they make life easier.

The area was lovely and quiet, the local publix was a 2 min drive, beach fantastic.

We did the alligator farm and Jacksonville zoo, and St Augustine of course. They were fabulous.

Overall a very comfortable, well equipped property in a great location.

Thanks to Eric and Leila who were very helpful and so was Fred at Endless Summer realtywho let us stay on a bit longer on our last day as there was no-one coming in straight after no stress packing and cleaning up before leaving.

The perfect place to stay in St. Augustine!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved this place. First the location is excellent. Simply walk across the street and over to the beach. The beach was beautiful, saw lots of dolphins, and wasn't ever crowded really. Our five year old loved the beach toys that were available with the house and she thought the shower outside was WAY cool. I enjoyed the hammock and even though it was summer under the palm trees the hammock area wasn't too hot. The only complaint I would have is the timing of the sprinkler system in the afternoon. It seemed to be spraying all around the grill and hammock every evening about the time I wanted to be outside in the back yard. Overall though we are already planning our next visit and this is where we will choose to stay for sure! The house is very clean and it is updated nicely. The new fence and patio are REALLY nice also. The St. Augustine attractions are an easy drive from the house. We found that the location was ideal for us because the house is far enough away from most touristy stuff to be relaxing but close enough where we could easily drive to see things at our leisure. You'll love this place!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. New sod, hence the reason for the sprinkler system running so much. We will have it adjusted. Thx again and hope you can come back again soon! Eric
